Do you really need to ask?

But, at the time, I believe that at the time, the leading scorers were:

Phillips

Pelletier

Zohorna

Not sure if Zary was up there at that point.

Duehr got in on Jan. 10th, Pelletier not until Jan 21st.

The annoying thing is Duehr only ever plays with the 4th line, almost like they want to justify the 4th line.

Meanwhile Kadri stagnates on the 3rd line with Ritchie.

Kadri stagnates. He's had chances on all the lines, I think.

I forget now, who did he have playing with him?

Hiberdeau on the wrong wing.

Had Pelletier on LW for 5 or so games.

Who else has played LW while Huberdeau was on RW?

Lucic?

I forget.

Sorry for the sarcasm.  Duehr played one shoft with Kadri, then switched up.

Ya.

Sorry too for the sarcasm. I'm not a fan of Kadri.

The 4th line with Duehr is clicking better than any of the others.

Wish there were 3 more Duehrs, one for each line. Hopefully there are more Duehrs on the way.

I expected more out of Huberdeau. Maybe the Habs will give up their first round pick for Huberdeau (for a first round lottery extravaganza). Maybe Jagr has quit drinking and he will trade Huberdeau for himself.

Maybe Mcdavid will trade up to play with Duehr on the leagues premier 4th line 🤑👊

Can't wait for the coming Massacre of Alberta that the league has planned again at Calgary's expense.

Stay positive, stay positive now🤐

It's too early to think fishing. I want to see the first round. We haven't given up.

We have several players not playing to their level.  Huberdeau, Kadri and Mangiapane have shown what they are capable of.  Not this year.  What we haven't found is a place for each of them.  How many games does it take to realize a LW is not a RW.  Kadri is not as much a skill player as a power forward type, so play him with someone like Nichushkin.  Yeah, we don't really have that.  Mangiapane played with Backlund and Coleman last year, but they were the 2nd line, not just a shutdown line.

My positivity is that we can ice a lineup that matches players to each other.  Duehr's limited icetime shows that we haven't learned.  Suggesting that it's a 4th line that dominates is a little rich.  Untapped potential for a good player.

travel,

A little rich, but could get points in playoff hockey.

Ya, you're right, we just don' t have enough Duehrs to charge 3 more lines.

Kadri = power forward, ok, but not a great power forward.

Anyway though, every team has to do with what they have. Players need to buy into a coach's and manager's game. The Bad News Bears thing. Great things

can happen. Like Lanny said.

For some reason I believe they'll get in and I'm one of the biggest Downers of this lot. They usually play against the way I think they should so why not, they're going to get in. But if we play Colorado we are toast, but if Minny can keep the top spot there is a chance to take the first round.

I can't see The Peg rebounding. The glimmer of hope they've given us might set us up to have something to play for.

Kadri = power forward, ok, but not a great power forward. Avs moved him.

AVS didn't have the money and it would have reduced what they have.

They needed to re-sign Nate, re-sign Nichushkin and wanted to sign Manson.

Nothing left for Kadri long term.

Kadri plays like a power forward, well maybe just a gritty pest type like Tkachuk.

Duehr.  I'm not going to discount what he does on the ice.

Expecting the 4th line to survive in a playoff game may be something else.

Certainly not on the road.

And not the way Sutter rolls the lines.

Would a Duehr be a better choice for Kadri's RW?

No worse than being played with Ritchie and Dube (RW).

I like Dube, but I'm not sure he fits with Kadri.

I'm the opposite of you.  I am normally one of the last to give up.

I don't like our chances against NAS.

We haven't beaten them all year and they look to be getting Josi back.

He's huge for their scoring.

Markstrom is the only reason why we are having this debate.

He was part of the biggest problem we had.

Now that he's playing closer to his normal level, we are struggling to score again.

Low scoring games this month, we are 4-2-1.

We have a good schedule where we can exploit non-playoff teams.

The two games in VAN will likely be the deciding point for us.

Lose the first one and we have no margin for error.

WPG is only one factor in our run.

NAS is another one.

The standings of the top teams will determine what team they ice for those games they play.

What I mean is that COL, MIN and DAL all have games against the two teams we are fighting with.

If they are trying to get home ice, the division or the conference lead that means they ice top players.

If they have the seed set, they can chose to sit key players.

They may even decide they position the lineup so they face a certain team.

Good thinking. That is a lot of work figuring the chances of all that but it's exciting.

I still like the bad news bears. Everybody draw together for a cause and you never know what can happen. Lanny knows that. I hope they do it for the gipper.

Well I guess it didn't happen for the bad news bears; maybe it was lack of a great cause.

Those 2 exciting young forwards, and that extraordinary young goalie are ready for the team. I am impressed. They'll get played next year. Walker is ready too.

I feel that Markstrom might want to go; that would make things easier.

That was a great game to end the season (putting aside taking a cup). I'm excited for next year; more so than the coming playoffs.

I guess this is where alot of us branch off to follow different teams in the playoffs. We are going to pull for Winnipeg because they too play an old fashioned hard nosed game. If they are out, I am going to get the camper on the road. I definitely am not going to watch Edmonton (or that boy girl who stiffled Bud Light's beer sales. There is a fish who wants to be in my frying pan😃

Unless you have a 2nd team that you cheer for, that is in the playoffs, I don't see getting pumped up for the playoffs.  I want to see whomever plays the Oilers destroy them.  I would like to see COL come out of the West perhaps, but I could support DAL.  LA would be okay as well.  I won't be cheering for Canada's team even if they are the last one standing.  Only three of them and I don't like any of them.

Same thing here. We cheer for Winnipeg so there is a reason to watch. The coilers are the league's focus because of chimp mcdavid. Already lived through edmontonitis once 35 years ago; no bite this time. Kinda don't give a bean who wins after that. Battle of Alberta my acetone. I mean that positively. The way the game is heading, it is going to lose solid longtime fans.

Could have wrote the same post almost, I too will cheer the jets, have live in Edmontonitis also 20 years ago and it was the best move outta there I made while is was still immune to them.  I have lived in both Edmonton and Calgary and positively will say there is no comparison between the sports fans, the city highlights and the overall living style.  Calgary is twice the place. My positives go out to fishing/golfing and of course camping... it will be epic this year as I just retired and now will be my own boss having every day being a Saturday.  Flames will be brighter and more rebuilt by October so lots to look foward to.

So, I lived in NS and worked in Dartmouth/Halifax for 23 years at one job.  Hated the traffic but it was reasonable back in the 2000's.  Downtown a great place to go if you were young and loved to drink.  The beaches were a great escape from the city and better place to see people in real life.  Well, sort of.  Over the years, traffic increased and the council turned the city into a what the two big city Alberta mayors are trying to do.  I won't go there.

Back in about 86 I started cheering for the Flames and only ever cheered for EDM when CGY was done.  But that was only due to Messier.  Cheered him on when he won the cup in NY.  A lot tougher to follow the Flames back then, due to little to no coverage of the Flames until Saturday night or playoffs.  The Iggy trade and later cup run were great.  Cemented me as a fan.

I moved to Ft Mac for a couple of years in the late 2000's.  I lasted about two years before moving to EDM.  Been here ever since.  I love Calgary but can't see ever living there.  Just can't take the amount of highways and "trails" and endless traffic lights.  EDM is not a particularly nice city but it's fine.  Easy to get around in, never get lost.  It's still affordable to rent and own.  My plan is not to live here in winter when I retire.  Winter is cold but little snow compared to CGY or Halifax.  Summer is pleasant but no beaches, man.  Can't see or smell the ocean.

I never cheered for the Oilers since I moved here, nor will I ever want to.  I find their play cheap, much like teh Ducks used to be in games.  They use picks to find a lane to the net and clutch and grab with the worst of teams.  Even the much celebrated McD holds the stick to prevent you checking him.  Other than him, the team is meh.  Give it to or get it from McD.  Stand in one spot for the one timer.  It's not that Draisaitl has a awesome shot, it's that the goalie has to play McD until it's too late.  Draisaitl only needs to aim between the posts and it's likely in.

So, there are very few teams I actually will watch play in the playoffs unless bored.  I like Dallas because I am a Cowboys fan and see them as the underdog some series.  COL is okay to watch, since Nate is from Dartmouth and I like Makar.  Can't stand Vegas and have no interest in SEA.  Leafs, meh.  FLA is fun sometimes, just to see them fail again.  But I'm not going to care one way or the other unless EDM makes it past the 1st round.  Then I cheer hard against them.  With the sound off so I don't have to hear the orgasmic announcers talking about McD picking his nose.

Ditto, same here, cant give TD the like for some reason.

I lived in Fort Mac also one year way back late 80s worked at Suncor, rough town glad im out.

It's MODS that can't be liked.  Just a function of the access we have.

Ft. Mac is okay, but too small town for me, and totally centered around people working at the sites.  I worked in the city, so never had to face that bad morning commute.  Well the left turn from Timberlee.  When I first got there I rented up in Abasand then moved to Timberlee.  Abasand basically burned to the ground and the other place in Timberlee burned to about 500 metres from where I lived.  I was long gone by then.
