Flames - Season Predictions 23/24

With RocketDoctor’s Season Predictions on hold due to so much going on currently with him I’m offering to help and get this started again this year.  Its just all in for fun and keeps everyone interested in their predictions with no wrong or right answers.  Note: RocketDoctor can take over anytime again or support any questions as we move along.

 

At the end of every month (Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar etc.) and at season end you will earn points based on your answers.  DEADLINE WILL BE NO LATER THEN Sunday OCT. 22 for some grace period I will post teams and points end of month(s).

 

Here are the (4) questions (same as last season)

 

1 - Will the Flames make the Playoffs?    Yes or No.?

 

2 - What will the Pacific Division standings be both points going out at end of each month up to and including END of season?   Number each team from 1st to 8^th of your prediction.

 

3 - Name from 1st to 3rd the top 3 GOAL scorers

 

4 - Name from 1st to 3rd the top ASSISTs in points  

 

Points awarded same as last year (RocketDoctor’s season predictions thread)

·         1 pt. each for monthly tallies if Flames are in our or out of current playoff contention

·         1 pt. each month for correct standings for every team up to end year

·         1 pt. each month for both goal scores and assists in correct position up to end year

Shouldn't we predict how the month will go? Final standings won't be the same in the first few months as it will be in the final.

Great question I too asked myself that last year when R.C. made this up, please note the title to this thread "Season Predictions".  Although I will provide monthly updates/leaders were not changing teams/players each month as yes many things change over the course of the year.

If you or anyone want to do a "monthly predictions" thread Ill join in , it will take more work though.

I'm afraid I agree with taz89 I'm hoping we are in the 1- 4 over all picks this yr perhaps even next if not we will have nothing in our prospect pool that will be anything near a star player other than Nato and that is a dream . Saying that maybe we luck out on a 4th - 6th rounder that becomes a top 6th in depth between the 2nd and 3rd line.

We are in a bit of a skid. I was counting on the penders to have a good contract year on top of being motivated by last year's poor showing. Which I think usually resulted in the in one year and out another year Flames of the past ten years.
 

Maybe there just isn't enough fire power to get over the edge. I wanted to believe. My duty as a fan is through thick and thin.

Yups.  I was hoping to see the best Hanifin and Lindholm ever since it's their contract year.  They've been okay but nothing special.  Only one who has stepped up so far is Zadorov.

Have you ppl watch Huber he doesn't even try we are going to have to buy him out and I believe that's his plan get bought out and go back to Panthers and get a huge pay day from them and start playing hockey again. I wonder if we can sue him for breaking his contract you the one where he gets all that money and doesn't even try to play the game.

Its quite bleak actually looking at he stats when we only have one player with 3 goals and the top end overall with 6 pts. total after 9 games.

October season prediction will be not very consistent as most players basically have next to nothing for stats.

17 forwards with negative (+/-) stats and only 2 players with positives.  Note: Kadri sitting at -11 , Huber at -10.

It may be more then just Huber wanting to be bought out...🤪
