He's rangey.  Needs to tighten up a few loose screws.  His edges need work, which will happen in the summer.  He's a fluid skater when he get a good first stride.  Count this as the first time where he's had to play top 4, 200 foot, and ddfend some of the best of the NHL.  He's not physical because of his rangeness.  But he has a good awareness and is constantly reading the play.  His attack speed is very good.  If he could cut in at the last second, he would be a bigger threat.  Kinda does the Hanifin skate around the net thing.

Absolutely TD

Huge props to Oettinger.

22yo high end prospect to start the year. Had to fight for the #1 spot.

Now 23, I think Dallas won't be needing a goalie for a while.

Huge steps for him this year.

Let's call a spade a spade.

Smart pick in the 1st.  I think we made a good choice, but he was in a good program.

So I live in Whitecourt but was thinking about going to a viewing party in Calgary for the second round if we make it.  I was wondering how early I would have to leave Whitecourt to get in if say the game is at 8pm.  Thanks in advance.

Sounds like at least a 4 hour drive, maybe longer.

I think they are still tweaking the #REDLOT experience.

5 hrs makes it safe. Enough time to navigate through Calgary. Take the Devon exit off of the Yellowhead to bypass Edmonton. Easier to stop for a quick bite/leak. Just passed Devon hang a left at the Leduc sign. The Henday's good, but waaaay busier and no convenience stops until Calgary Trail in S. Edmonton which is busy as Blockchain.

You may want to park at a C-Train Stn and take the C-Train to Stampede/Dome. Because parking there will be a nightmare, but free at a station.

NHL will protect players after a head shot.

Only when it's a few players that committ the offense.

Namenstnikov with a head shot to Gaudreau.

2 minute penalty only.

Big Bad Zad hits a smaller (not a smurf size) and OMG must suspend.

Both were similar violence.

Nurse gets one game for intent to decapitate LA player.

At worst Zaddy's hit should have been a 2 minute penalty.

Yeah I agree, the problem is he didn’t get a two minute penalty, now the league has to do something.

That's weak sauce.  Penalties are miised every game.  Benn didn't get anything for slew foot one and not even a fine.  Slew foot 2 got a 5k fine.  The stick to Bread's face got a 5k fine as well.

That's not an insult to you, just that the NHL PS is a joke.  Justify if they want, but it's a joke.

Are hearings minimum 1-game?

Typically means a suspension. If he was just being fined, then there'd no hearing.

There has been previous scenarios where a hearing did not result in a suspension, but it's rare. Really depends on how Zadorov explains the play.

Dallas can decide to go after players if they want.

Lucic will be on that first faceoff draw against Benn and tell him.

You want Zaddy?  You get me.

Touch anyone with your dirty play, you will answer to me.

We remember the slew foots and high sticks and picks.

Welcome to the Dome.

What was the hearing for if they reviewed the hit and made this determination?

Give him a chance to explain the play from his side .

Could be just what we needed tho . Hopefully Dallas gets off their game going after him and Sutter lays down a no retaliation law..

Player Safety: Did you target his head?

Zadorov: No

Player Safety: Do you swear?

Zadorov:. Yes

Player Safety: Do you double swear cross your pinky and hope to die?

Zadorov: Yes

Player Safety: Great.  Okay you can go now.

I mean really?

Well! So we win the division but probably ultimately got the toughest matchup for us. LA would have been the most ideal within the division. Edmonton might have been a good first round matchup. Even Minnesota would probably have been a better match then Dallas.

Turns out they Nashville was probably the best matchup.
order if preferred matchups:

Nashville

LA

Minnesota

Edmonton

Dallas

St Louis

Colorado

Aside from Nashville without Saros, no easy matchups.

LA wasn't an easy matchup for Edmonton, it went 7. The Oilers faced elimination twice and Draisaitl got injured.
