I peaced someone and got ripped for doing it by turning my hand around. I was told that I pretty much just said, "go Blockchain yourself".

Who doesn't love misunderstandings? I correct people to this day. lol

People need to know.

It actually means the same as the middle finger does here.

Churchill did it one time to the reporters and they took it to mean V for victory.

In theory, it's supposed to be the back of your hand facing out to mean up yours.

I liked reading Clockwork Orange, for some of the references to Cockney English.

And some to Russian (Babushka?).

Ahh yes, Nadsat. I aimed for fluency in my molodoy raz, Gooly Brat.

Interestingly, maybe rd can back me up if it still holds true. When I was in England, these 2 fingers done this way means the polar opposite of peace. People need to know that. lol

During WWII, palm facing outwards meant "victory", palm facing inwards meant "up yours".

I did not know that. I think I love that. As harrowing as it may be. That's awesome boss. I read a lot and think I know stuff.

This is awesome. I had no idea.

What's your source? I wouldn't ask if I didn't find this truly remarkable. And shocked that I'd never read this. Especially that it's this type of stuff I was looking to find. lol

God keep your glass full buddy. I did not know this. People should know something like that.

Cockney's just slang really.

"alright then TD, giss a Segwit, boy, Hey there's Heartsy, you cont, where you been"?

Zero of this is meant offensively.

They call it the "underclasses" in London, I call it the fun and interesting people.

It's very colourful.

"Are you rolling a 3 or a 5 conundrumed-boy? Just do a 3, let's go 'round the pub". That was my crowd. Facking Hal was there a lot too. Great fun.

3 or 5 was how many rolling papers. It's never 1. lol

And always hashish, and some unsavoury characters used black shoe polish to call Lebanese blonde Afghani Black.

Thankfully I'm not dumb and had good friends that, sure, call it cockney, great people.

It's just street language.

No offence to the peeople, just mentioning the origin.

Like "trouble and strife".

Talk to a Newfie if you want to learn some new expressions."Where ya to".

Capers and Newfs say similar things like "How she going, eh".

PEI and part of NB say "Where yuz from".

I wanted to discuss the sked but I didn't wanna start a new thread.

So I thought here would be relevant seeing as we're getting hot and heavy.

We have 7 games in the next 11 days starting today.

That's messed up. Here's our fun first half of March:

3 -  MTL @ home

5 - AVS away

7 - Oilers @ home

8 - WASH @ home

10 - TBay @ home

12 - Wings @ home

13 - AVS @ home

Mainly home, but damn. Are we in for a rough ride? Gonna need those spare bodies.

The good thing is the home games. Theres some other teams that also need to catch up games and need to do it on the road.  Thats a good recipe for burnout and injuries. Better some other teams than the Flames.

I was thinking that while typing that it's not just us. Burnout/injuries is definitely a concern that I share.

Hopefully Vladar is ready to go hot butter too.

Re-scheduled games mostly.  Thanks COVID.

The Oilers/WASH set is nasty.  IIRC Vlad won the last WASH game.

McD will try to skate through Markstom, if they start him (which they should).

The DET/COL set is nasty.

Both are fast.

It's GDB....

New projected lines, obviously as a result of the recent struggles of Monahan's line:

#Flames projected tonight vs. Edmonton:

Gaudreau-Lindholm-Tkachuk
Coleman-Backlund-Lewis
Mangiapane-Ruzicka-Toffoli
Lucic-Monahan-Dube

Hanifin-Andersson
Kylington-Tanev
Zadorov-Gudbranson
