Great game for the big guys.
4 in a row is a season-long streak.
I'm of the mind the whole Lindholm situation was kind of hanging over the team in a negative way.
Could have been the break, but they look far more relaxed to my eyes since Lindy was dealt.
Calder is Bedards to lose at this point.
I believe Faber is a lock for runner-up as well.
When you look at games played though a case could certainly be made for Zary to be a finalist.
Sounds like the tabled deal for Hanifin is 7.5x8.
Now if you had asked me at the start of the season about this deal I'd have given a hard "no" but I am starting to come around on resigning him. I think his game has grown exponentially this season and he is playing the most confident hockey he ever has.
All that said, this also makes him a really interesting trade chip. I believe he'd bring a similar return that Lindholm did from the right team, maybe more.
Thoughts?
I'd never cheer for the Canucks.
That said I do like them a lot more now than in years past.
The Bieksa, Burrows, Kesler days were insufferable teams, and impossible to like.
They've come a long way since then.
Was able to catch this one.
Few thoughts..
Jack Edwards is awful. Might be the worst commentator ever.
On the Flames.
I thought Kuzmenko looked good in the O zone. Looked great alongside Huberdeau as both have developed some early chemistry it seems.
You can see Kuzys dynamic hands for sure.
Pelletier was solid. Nothing amazing but made some nice plays.
Need to see more of Pachal but he was engaged physically
Sounds like we could start spitballing ideas on where to pencil in Kylington.
Been practicing with the team and by all accounts has looked pretty good doing so.
Will be nice to get an elite skater like him in the lineup. In my mind he immediately takes Oesterle out of the lineup when he is ready to go.
Id play him on the 3rd pair with Gibby until he is back up to speed then maybe he can be run alongside Tanev again.
All in all, its truly a feel-good story for both him and the team in general as I know the rest of the boys are all stoked to see him back.
He's still an elite passer. I think a lot of his struggles are a combination of bad luck and his linemates not anticipating his passes.
That chips away at his confidence and it kinda snowballs from there.
Stripes really tried their damndest to take this one away from Calgary.
Stars get away with murder all night and I really disagree with the hand pass decision as I believe it hit Backlunds leg before Huberdeau touched it.
Great resilience once again though!
I'm off to bed. GFG!
Good game for Calgary taking advantage of a tired Canucks team.
Thought most of the players looked really engaged.
Liked what I saw from Huberdeau and that line as a whole. They were pretty much dominated 5v5 vs MTL so big bounce back for that trio.
I really didn't like what I saw from all 4 officials tonight. From tossing a player on nearly every face-off, to giving Pospisil a roughing minor after Hronek was the only one dropping the mitts, then Greer gets the only minor on a nearly identical play late.
Didn't change the outcome buts its really bothersome to watch.
GFG!!!
