  1. I think with the moves they will be going with more of balanced approach to the lines. Huberdeau-Kadri-Sharangovich Mangiapane-Backlund-Coleman Zary-Schwindt-Kuzmenko Pelletier-Rooney-Pospisil
  2. Julien Gauthier is on waivers today, I am not a huge fan of Gauthier, but with Greer goin down with an injury for awhile Gauthier might be worth a claim as a 4th line replacement.
  3. The tough part with losing Ruzicka is the lack of center depth, especially when they finally move Lindholm.
  4. Pretty telling when DeSimone gets claimed and Oesterle doesn't. Losing depth isn't great, but both players needed to move out, so that players who can contribute have room.
  5. 3rd member of that WJC team to ask for a leave of absence in a week.
  6. Ruzicka reminds me of Joe Colborne. Size and skill, but doesn’t use either often enough. No urgency in his game. He might get more offensive opportunities once Lindholm is traded, because there will be a spot for a center in the top 6.
  7. This is troubling as Hart and Dube were both part of that WJC team.
  8. I thought maybe Jones would be the next forward up, but Schwindt is a guy who can play on the 4th line and play C/RW. With some of these guys coming up to RFA, you kind of want to see what we have in these young players.
  9. Why are we still playing Oesterle? He has been by far the worst player on the team this year, he isn’t an NHL player. Gilbert, DeSimone, Solovyov, Kuznetsov would all be better choices than Oesterle.
  10. I guess the difference is that with Vrana it was substance abuse and there has been no mention of substance abuse with Kylington, it has been health related. They had the option to put Rooney on a conditioning stint as well, but he went straight to waivers. Just seems less likely that he would get claimed if they put Kylington on waivers, instead of letting him play in a few conditioning games. Colorado and Washington each have two scouts at the game tonight, I am guessing to watch Kylington.
  11. Then why not put him on waivers instead of putting him on a conditioning loan?
  12. as per the CBA he is going to be in the NHL or on waivers within the week.
  13. https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/craig-s-list-dominant-defencemen-set-to-take-over-2024-nhl-draft-1.2061018 Craig Button's draft rankings just came out. He has Silayev 3rd, Helenius 6th andLindstrom 10th. A little surprised he has Berkly Catton down at 13th.
  14. Kylington had to agree to go to the AHL on the conditioning stint. I believe it is 3 team games.
  15. According to the CBA players can go on LTIR Conditioning Loan for 6 days or 3 games. Teams can ask for an extension of two games. Kylington was put on conditioning loan on the 4th, and this will be the Wranglers 3rd game since the loan. I am guessing that they will ask for an extension seeing as he hasn’t played in a year and a half. After that though they will have to either add him to the active roster or put him on waivers to send him down.
  16. If you can get d-man with Hedman upside, I would wait till 2026 to get him over.
  17. Yeah I have seen him ranked from 4 to 19. The size, skating and skill package is going to be pretty tantalizing for teams in the top end of the draft. Though there is going to be a lot of defensemen at the top end of the draft that bring size and skill to the table. Anton Silayev is 6’7” and is a great skater, he has been climbing the draft boards. It’s just hard to get a good read on the Russians, because nobody can go watch them.
  18. Konsta Helenius is another guy I think would be great in the Flames range. He did not have a great WJC, which is an area of concern, but the Finns as a team had a horrible WJC. Helenius has high hockey IQ, good skill and is a good skater, not afraid to fight for the puck. Reminds me a bit of Lindholm.
  19. Cayden Lindstrom is the player I have my eye on for the range where we will be picking. Size, skating ability, skill, physical, oh and he plays center.
  20. Oh yeah, wasn't trying to start any rumours, just the timing is interesting and the fact we haven't had any info in regards to Kylington being away from the team for the last year and a half.
  21. Wonder if there was friction between Zadorov and Kylington.
  22. It’s the mins per game Chiarot averaging over 21 mins Zadorov averaging 17 mins that’s the difference between a guy playing top pairing and bottom pairing. They weren’t going to get anywhere near the same return. Maybe he could’ve gotten a 2nd if he would have retained cap.
  23. Ben Chiarot was playing over 23 mins a night when he was traded. The Flames were never ever going to get anything close to this in value.
  24. I don’t think it would have made a difference, now or at the TDL.
  25. We paid a 3rd for him and most felt that we overpaid for him.
