The problem Moore had was he was the 4th best player on his team. I think if he centered Perreault and Leonard instead of Smith he goes much higher than he did.

Surprised Perreault is still around. I doubt we make a move to get another 1st, but it would be nice.

I think Jason Bukala from Sportsnet had him going 10th.

Yeah Honzek plays much harder than Ruzicka.

I wouldn’t say this is off the board, this was in his range. Big, skilled, sees the game well and he is a competitor.

Moore is the best player I have available. I have doubts we go with him.

It would be a great time to pull off a Hanifin to Detroit or even Seattle trade and get another one of these high end guys.

I really hope it’s not Dragicevic, he isn’t a 1st round pick and he isn’t a guy who is going to be able to have his offensive game translate to the NHL.

I don’t know, now that Dubas is there I think they go high skill I could see them go Moore.

Dvorsky went exactly in the range he was predicted.

Really hope we can get Moore, he doesn’t seem like a Flames pick, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing lol. Yager and Barlow seem more like Flames picks.

I was hoping Dvorsky would fall to us but I doubted it would happen.

Detroit never afraid of going off the board. Too me he is a safe pick, and I am a little relieved that he is gone as I thought there would be better players available to us.

Sounds like the Preds might not give Cal Foote a QO, a little surprising. I am not a huge fan of Foote but might be a good 3rd pairing guy to take a chance on.

I have seen him anywhere from 10-25. Easily the best skater in the draft. Reminds me of Barzal.

I am really holding out hope for Oliver Moore to be available at our pick. He will be one of the fastest guys in the NHL the moment he steps in. I think Conroy wants a fast team, and Moore certainly fits that profile.

I also wouldn’t be surprised if Conroy is using the media to try and get teams to up their offers. I have no doubt that they want to sign Lindholm, but if they are going to trade it definitely doesn’t benefit Calgary to tell everyone that if they don’t get an answer by tomorrow that they are trading him. Why announce your deadline to the rest of the teams? I sure if the right offer came along they would pull the trigger as I am sure they have an inclination of which way Lindholm is leaning. Till the right offer comes along you keep the door open to him coming back, and put the pressure on the other GM’s to up their offers.

He would be closer to 20 for me. Nothing really sticks out.

The other guy who is intriguing is Cal Ritchie, he will most likely go later in the 1st round, but apparently a lot of his lack of production this past season can be attributed to the fact that he played the year with a torn labrum. I don’t know that he has high end offense either way, but his size and hockey IQ will make him a player in the NHL. I might have him ahead of guys like Danielson and Yager.

Our best bets to move up in the draft probably lie with Washington (8), Detroit, (9) St. Louis (10), Vancouver (11), Arizona (12), Buffalo (13), Pittsburgh (14). I am not sure how this draft is going to play out, Bedard is going number 1, Carlsson and Fantilli are next, Michkov and Smith are probably the next tier. After that it feels like a bit of a scramble. There are a couple of guys that I see forming that next ledge that if we could move up I would be super happy to get, though I could see a scenario where one is available at 16, I just can’t say that they will. Ryan Leonard, Dalibor Dvorsky, Oliver Moore, Matthew Wood, David Reinbacher, Axel Sandin Pellikka are all in my next grouping. I would be very excited to get one of them.
