He started strong, but they let him rot.

For the most part, he came in when Rosie went out.

ya, I think Dube has been given too long a leash. Mangiapane as well. Although, Mange has finally started going after the reunion.

So, the easy change to the system is put in Klapka in Dube's spot.

But due to the Pospisil injury (week at least), we are back to 12F.

And rewarding Dube by bumping him to the top 6 seems wrong.

Ruzicka was used after the injury and it seemed fine.

Coleman was on when Zary scored the non-goal.

I don't know if it makes sense now to bring in Coronato.

It doesn't help if you keep yanking him up and down.

He will be at the AHL All Star game on  Feb. 4-5th.

We play again on Feb. 6th.

As far as skill goes, he is the best we have on the farm.

Difficult to integrate him with Kadri without more practice.

Tough game to get in against EDM.

Projected lines against EDM.  Notice Klapka and Coronato in, Dube out.  Pospisil week to week at this point, but could be shorter.

Huberdeau-Lindholm-Sharangovich

Zary-Kadri-Coronato

Mangiapane-Backlund-Coleman

Greer-Ruzicka-Klapka

Weegar-Andersson

Hanifin-Tanev

Oesterle-Gilbert

Vladar

Why are we still playing Oesterle? He has been by far the worst player on the team this year, he isn’t an NHL player. Gilbert, DeSimone, Solovyov, Kuznetsov would all be better choices than Oesterle.

Got to agree cannot understand that they are still plying him.

I just post em, don't try to understand em.

Oesterle and DeSimone were clearly the worst against TOR.

Oesterle has not really had any good games since TC.

Gilbert is okay, but really just as a guy that can hit and get a shot off.

Kuz did as well or better than Oesterle.

Solo was looking like he had improved in his last showing.

Against one of the higher scoring teams that has a lethal PP, we put out a fringe NHL 3rd pair.

Make a trade for F's sake to improve the D.

Either we are losing Hanifin or not, but we still need a NHL pairing.

I have no idea why we waived Oesterle if we are just going to play him.

He's an ex-Oiler that hasn't done much.

If your going to put in Coronato and Klapka you might as well play Wolf

I would rather that they play a (semi) solid goalie with the rooks.

They are going to run the goalie whenever possible, since that's waht they do.

I would have played Kuz over Oesterle, but that's just me.

He is tougher than most of our other D.

Gilbert is up there.

Could it be mental strain due to team Canada? Not saying he's guilty but the guilt due to association can be quite tough. Maybe there's a lot else going on though, like needing to succeed and pushing himself with his own expectations and not able to live up to them. Must be hard to be an nhler

My first thought, but I will give the kid the benefit of doubt there.

We don't know his family situation or any stress he is under.

Unlike Kylington, there was no hint.

Two guys that were in top form before camp and both are out.

ohhh I don't mean he did anything. I had a feeling one might mistake guilty feelings with being guilty. I definitely don't mean he's guilty, just that if you choose to opt out of shinnanies there might be more to knowing something went wrong...

but true, there's a lot going on in the lives others that aren't at the surface and many tend to think, just push through, get over it. Some can work flawless at 100% when the poop hits the fan and good on them, others can hit a wall in the same situation and deal with things opposite to that and others somewhere in the middle of the two scenarios.

Tough both ways! I hope he gets through it alright and is getting the help he needs.

Flames tied for 10th worst overall, but only 3 points ahead of 6th worst team.

Bottom 5 is a bit out of reach right now, as we are 10 up on 5th.

Three games this week against STL, CBJ and CHI then 9 days off.

3 wins does little, but 3 losses puts us in lotto for 1st overall.

Long season yet, but 3 games against bottom feeders sets the tone.

Dube exercising his NTC when he doesn't have one.

His play did more than enough to ensure he was going nowhere.  I still love the logic that we can trade all the players who are underperforming.

Flames call up Schwindt.  Not really a surprise they need another body.

We are down a C/RW with Dube out.

CS can play either.

I think they're waiting on call ups to limit the accrued cap space.
