I think the finishing issues are a little overblown. They are in the middle of the pack offensively, that’s about where this team should be.

It is, and it's misplaced too. Their 9th in goals for/60 in the league at 5 on 5 but 20th in PP.

They are slightly below league avg when it comes to finishing which for sure sucks but the PP is the primary reason they are only middle of the pack offensively.

We seem to pass from the slot to the side.

Guy streaking down the center, then passes it to the wing who is at a bad angle.

Very few are one-timers.  If so, the goalie has enough time to prepare.

Hey travel_dude,

You and I are seeing the Same Stuff! They gotta gonna knock that stuff off! Goodreau was bad for that. Pelt seems to have a healthy appetite.

True but if they could finish better they would be in the upper deck.

Work and quantity and finish! That is the recipe!

I was under the impression this was "the unconditional positivity thread"...

More like the morgue after a friend passes on.......

Someone drove the bus off the road and it's rusting.

Unfortunately, the frustrations have bled into every thread.

Even the GDT's have become places to comment on other issues like coaching and GM.

We only need Markstrom to be a difference maker for the right reasons instead of the wrong reasons and we'll be flourishing.

I still believe he can do it.

Aaaaaaand go!

It just been that frustrating a year for this team.

On a positive note…they’ve moved up the release date for the Super Mario Movie from April 7 to the 5th!

18 days to Spring, (March 20th) this snow has a deadline, that is of course until typical May long-weekend blasts but wont deter this guy. Looking forward to greenery again soon and playoffs no matter with or without our team.

But yes Go Flames!

I'm going camping if our team doesn't make it.

He doesnt even need to be the difference maker, just be steady. Even if you stumble into last WC spot anything can happen. Theres teams with marginally better goaltending (Leafs, Oil,) that seem to be going all in, we'll see how that works out once the dust settles.

On a positibve note the Fat Lady has not even started warming up yet......

21 games to go.  In this very weird Pacific division anything could still happen

The team that lost to the Bruins in OT could have/would have won at least 75% of any other games against any other team. Get that team on the ice for the rest of the season and top of the Pacific is very attainable.

We only saw one guy with a move on the goalie tonight, Coleman, the guy who scored.

Markstrom was not to blame tonight! That was frustrating to see Yarnkrok whistle in and force that puck in. He should have been laying on his backside. I'm not going to get frustrated cuz I am trying not to. Next game. SATURDAY AT 8

So Markstrom waits until the final 20 games to show he is a NHL goalie?

My positivity meter says that the Flames will be a good team next year, with no new players added from other teams.  Just don't re-sign any UFA's.  There, 4 spots up for grabs.  Have to trade out one player to make the cap work.

This year though, still has 20 games left. Would be cool if they got hot into POs.

I like that vision of yours. The UFAs could make room for the young guys.

Honestly, there is zero sense to continue to play any of the UFA's.

They aren't getting anything done.

Big deal, Lucic had a fight.  Lost the game.

We could waive Lewis and Ritchie, then sit Lucic.

Couldn't be any worse.

If we somehow manged to make the playoffs, then we have AHL players with NHL experience.

What are we 10 out or very close to it?

Sutter suggested that is when you use the kids.

4th line with Walker is good.

It's a complex job. Try some of them.

Call up Brett Sutter to tell some dad stories.

We have some guys down there that would love the chance of playing a meaningful game.

Summer camp is the only time they even get noticed.

It's about a month too late to see what we have, so the coach is going to keep it the same.

Still looking for 19 wins.

There is no reason why we couldn't go on a run.

I don't believe we win, because there is no signal from the coach that we will.

Something isn't working and we don't change anything.

The PP isn't any different.

The lines are the same.

The play is almost exactly the same every game.

The Minny game was an example of not adjusting to a different team.

We have prospects and scratched players that can help.

The level of frustration seen of the players is obvious they don't have faith.

There is no sign that the coach sees any need for a change.

Sit the 4th line, or go with 11-7 and insert Ruzicka.

You don't need to play them 10 minutes.

You can double shift the player who is going on a certain night.
