  1. I have to give Huska some credit at this point. When they buy in they can be one of the toughest team to play against.
  2. What a great push there! This team plays so well against the top teamsā€¦except for Florida and Carolina and Colorado but everyone else can get it
  3. The team was looking deflated until Ygor scored. I donā€™t think the Markstrom rumours and imminent Hanifin trade are helping things. Weā€™ll see just who takes the helm with the ā€œnext man upā€ state the Flames find themselves in. Should be an interesting upcoming week!
  4. This trade has more to do with asset management than tanking, if we flip Markstrom as well than indeed itā€™s a tank job but I believe the organization still believes playoffs are attainable this year. I do think the Flames are better defensively under Huskaā€™s zone system so hopefully losing Tanev doesnā€™t disrupt that too much.
  5. Nice trade for Tanev, heā€™s a warrior but the guys turning 35 and a UFA so glad we got some futures and a prospect for him. I trust Conroy enough to know heā€™s not getting fleeced, heā€™s carefully weighing these offers and returns. Hanifin will be an interesting one, heā€™s getting us back another 1st rounder at the very least, I donā€™t think the Flames move Markstrom ā€¦they arenā€™t tanking on the season just yet
  6. Not a great trade by Conroy but Iā€™ll assume this was the best offer available. It must have been a pretty toxic situation if we couldnā€™t wait until closer to the trade deadline where teams tend to overpay. Conroy sitting at around a C- so far for me. Weā€™ll see what becomes of the cap space and picks I guess
  7. Gonna start looking up the top draft prospects for next year, looks like itā€™s all this team has to look forward to
  8. It would be an interesting swap. Hanifin is proven and still young , Lafrenier is still finding his way in the NHL. Huberdeau -Lafranier-Pelletier Kadri-Lindholm-Mangiapane It could be a startā€¦I think we get a better player back than Lafrenier for Hanifin tbh. Been months since Iā€™ve posted on hereā€¦the team is even more of a mess than when I left! Happy Summer and Canada Day (belated) to everyone. Looks like our Flames need some work!
  9. If BT has essentially dialed out from being mentally, emotionally drained thatā€™s a tell tale sign of the toxic environment he had to operate under. GM role is taxing , exhausting and stressful but it can also be very thrilling , rewarding and fun. If BT was finding it was no longer fun or he was losing his passion of being the GM of the Calgary Flames thatā€™s indicative of the ppl heā€™s ultimately working for..the owners. Im sure BT still loves hockey and the GM position , just not with the Calgary Flames. Same way Gaudreau and Tkachuk didnā€™t want to continue their careers as Calgary Flames. These are elite players and high quality management all opting to leave this organization within less than a year. Thereā€™s toxicity within this organization and it sure ainā€™t creosote!
  10. Truly wonā€™t be rock bottom and full reset until thereā€™s new owners. This should be as close as we getā€¦but you know theyā€™ll be preaching how this team is ā€œknocking at the doorā€! A rebuild isnā€™t what Huberdeau, Markstrom, Kadri or Weegar signed up for so expect another quick ā€œretoolingā€. Lost its 2 biggest stars this summer as they didnā€™t believe in this organization, when your playoff trend is still ā€œin one year, miss the nextā€ itā€™s easy to see why. No new arena deal, a divisive coach and a toxic ownership group. It sounds like we have some work to do here
