Why what happened?
Edmonton has zero resolve if they can't run and gun.
NY's a young fast team that said, "okay". The Oil couldn't play that game. Yet it seemed like they couldn't have a Plan B.
Just kept trying to force it. When the bottom 6 made it 2-1, the Rangers could've been up 6-0 for the Grade A chances.
Big trouble in Edmonton.

Hmm. Maybe 'couse friends support Detroit (year was 2005-06) and I didn't like them jersey that much. Then I checked NHL teams logos and jerseys and Flames just clicked. After that Iggy and Kipper stole my heart.
Fulltime fan I have been since about 2011 or -12 when started watching games a lot.
Best part is that one of my friends change supporting Detroit to Calgary because of me.
Fun story. Around 2009 I recall a "english isn't my 1st language" poster started a thread. By the time I saw it, as "crash" username I think, it was a page deep of ignorance about the poster being drunk or developmentally delayed.
Let's just say, we're not like that anymore. That was pathetic.
I'm mad that we never draft Finns. You guys are at the height of hockey.
Do you go to games where you are?

Sorry folks, I was clearly not cheering the Oilers, but it turned into, holy Blockchain, this is a disaster.
Christ, I've coached PeeWee regional AA teams better, I think.
Hooooly Satoshi Nakamoto. This is an NHL coach?
Advice to Dave Tippett: Treat all of them like an avg PeeWee player.

Jesus, I actually feel bad for Oilers fans. Watching them @ NYR, currently 4-1 Rangers.
What the heck are they doing? What a mess. They were trying to run and gun in the 1st.
Okay. First up, the Rangers are young and fast. This was your game plan?
Then they just play kind of a mucky game and save McDavid and Draisaitl for the last 10ish minutes like they'll just magically score on demand.
I thought Tippett is a D first coach? They are completely lost. Add the Rangers are on a back-to-back with their backup.
I just can't quite believe the Oilers coach has only one plan. There's really no adjusting. If Plan A goes south, the team is completely atsea as to what to do next.
I don't like the Oilers and you can say I'm bias. Sure. But I just watched a hockey game and all I can think is, what the heck was that team doing with their game plan?
I can watch Midget coaches switch gears. I was amazed to watch an NHL team not be able to switch the play up. At all.
You can call it bias, but I saw zero signs of a Plan B, which is shocking at this level.
Great, now Spector's on spewing his nonsense. Where do they find these halfwits?

That's awesome! Outside of the Winged Wheel is my other fave team.lol

I low-key really liked Pitlick last night. He finished every last check he could cleanly.
We are going to have to grind the elite teams down. I thought Pitlick was great last night. He finished every check, and some of them looked like they prolly hurt.
ESPN has the best boxscores fyi, it's not even close. Had to check. He was credited with 9 hits over 12:21 mins of toi. No PIMs. Lewis was next with 5 over 14:20 toi. In total we laid 34 hits. So Pitlick laid over a quarter of them for the entire roster.
That's going to be an important part of our game.

Happy New Year everyone!
What makes you a Flames fan? It's always great to hear stories from the other side of Greenland!

Thought Wolfie would get the SO.
Too bad, they had held SJ to 20 shots.
Yeah, then they kinda tried to go D mode for the 3rd. Wolf was spectacular around a bunch of confusion.
I think we actually teach defensive panic and pandemonium in Stockton.
It's an adventure.
Wolf was spectacular. He's a Fleury-type of goalie imho. Great mechanics, do what you gotta do to fight for every puck.
Every NHL player will test him high and they don't need much room, I'm sure the Flames get it and help him develop.
He'd be a great story to give the finger to everyone. We all love that story.
Now let's be patient and get it right.
How would I rank our prospects?
They're all our prospects. Why tf is this a competition.lol
Cheer them all.

Hmm. Hypothetically - to this point - who would you rather have on the flames?
Coleman: 30, RW/LW, $4.9m for 6 years orBennett: 25, C/RW/LW, $4.2m for 4 years?
both;)

Going to the FLA teams and Carolina will be something. I watch quite a bit of the Cats. A bit of the other 2.
We have to be mistake-free. Can't cheat a single bit with them. Just wait for their mistakes.
All 3 teams are high event teams. We have to keep it reeaalllly low event.
All 3 are waaay faster than us. It's gonna be a ride.
Can't wait.

Vasilevsky's back too.

Gotta get back to scoring first.
Next up FLA and (possibly) no Bennett.
Then TBL with (hopefully) no Vasilevskiy.
Then CAR.
Definitively no Bennett. Suspended for 3.

I meant to say, I like we win and the kid didn't have to get lit up. I think he's 22, undrafted, and Rockford's backup goalie. His 1st ever NHL start waaay before he's ready.
So everyone can go home happy.
If it had have been MAF, I'd have accepted nothing less than 10-1.lol

I like this result. Oops. Johnny.

Glad to see Dube is ok. Too bad on the PS
Same thing happened to Point. Finished the game, then went on IR.
Hopefully not the case. That was a hard, awkward crash.

Was favouring his left arm after the PS.

Dube's hurt.

He’s not engaged. He’s a “going through the motions” player, and because of that, he didn’t make sure he scored. He’s playing easy.
He's fine I think. He found those seams for breakaways. I'm more aggravated by Tkachuk's vision. He throws pucks to no one. He just can't see he's throwing the puck away. Just eat the thing rather than blindly toss it to a turnover.

26 shots in a period is insane.
Guadreau now tied for 7th on the franchise in points.
I am compassionate. I do like that the kid isn't getting totally lit up. But we still have to be very careful not to lose momentum.

And 30 for.
Florida is fast. Every time we try to move the puck anywhere, there's a Cats player there. We were definitely overwhelmed that period.
