Damn. These hits are getting scary. Scale down the shoulder pads already.

It's that most wonderful time of the year!

A great representation of prospects and draft potential. Although typically overrated, but still a great opportunity to see great young players.
Can't wait!

Ruzicka could legit pass Monahan on the depth chart before the end of the season. Only question is, does Ruzicka trend up enough or does Monahan trend down too much... because we know Ruzicka will be trending up.
Man, I haven't even gotten started with Backlund...
lol
Can't wait. Talk about frustrating. Tanking at the same time as the Oilers. The missed opportunities are piling up. Wish our PP1 would set up differently. No one is ever driving through the slot, just playing perimeters. PP2, do we really need Backs out there? His passing vision is highly suspect to me. Or swap Backs and Mony.

Ruzicka is coming along and I think is not far from performing to Monahan's level. I know that's not hard to do or anything but still. It shows he belongs in the NHL. Now we need to see if he's capable of top 6.
Jesus man. Enough with the Monahan hate. It's old. We suck at center, yet, here you are, moving a center. Relentlessly specific.

Markstrom lost that rebound. He can't win every game, Blockchaining score players.

Too bad Dube doesn’t go top shelf there
Right in the crest. Scoring is starting to fall off of the cliff. Need scorers to step up. Goaltending is never perfect. Have to win in spite of it sometimes. Scoring is clearly becoming an issue.

I feel like she might have taken advantage of me once when I was feeling down. I was in Minneapolis, and her and 3 of her much more attractive girlfriends totally used me like I'm a piece of meat.
It was so humiliating.
I can hardly live with myself. It reminded me of the 24yo gorgeous high school teacher that seduced me when I was 16.
Some gorgeous women just can't understand that guys have feelings too. It isn't fair.

I don't think he's old school. I think he sees effort without results and wants to get that fixed,
There hasn't been any games where we failed to show up. We've had stretches of poor play.
Or missing a period, but overall we have been good in almost every game.
It's not like he has a lot of players to choose from.
He could ask BT to call up Pelletier for goal scoring, but he doesn't see the AHL games.
We are down two RHS, so we get Froese called up.
We've lost 3 in a row, but none were blowouts.
Can only mix and match players so much.
Top line works 90% of the time.
Backlund has struggles a bit.
Dube still looks a bit off.
Monahan skating better and getting more chances, just seems like he's still missing torgue.
4th lin is what it is, can only get better.
I don't really think that there's much to do but wait. Our prospect pool is pretty solid, Sutter's had BT (imo) bring in some standards for bottom 6. Goaltending was total Satoshi Nakamoto within the org, that was addressed pretty well. I didn't see any of these changes having this kind of an impact. this early. I think we're only getting better. Sutter's a great hockey guy. I like to think that I'm decent and understand decently. Sutter's on another planet. Gudbranson? Honestly?
As soon as Gudbranson said, "Daryl called me in the spring". I kmew right away that he knows exactly what he's doing.
Trying to gage what he's doing is hard. But to be clear, Sutter is a frigging terror of a coach at this top level.
I honestly think that he's just toying for now. Win or lose, he 's coaching for the playoffs imho. I think he's doing the 5D chess thing. Getting his reads and sitting back waiting. Crazy like a fox.

Pelletier now up to 25 point in 19 games.
2nd in entire AHL scoring.
Ahead of Jack Quine, who has played 2 less games.
Three behind leader who played 2 more games.
First yr in the A. Already too good for it. That's impressive as hell. I'll say it again. Our best prospect. Getting on time for a call up.

I can't remember what it was about now but it had something to do with @Heartbreaker trying to show us how the Flames don't draft enough RHS.
Us?? How many of you are there?lol

It wasn't a slight to HB at all.
We need more like him in the world.
Wasn't taken as such. Just having fun. Him and Deeds have to stop putting songs in my head every time I see the usernames.lol
Someone mistooked(making up words) Heartbreaker for a girl a while back. I'm like, "what? Not singing Led Zeppelin"? My brain is halfway through Livin' Lovin' Woman by the time I come around.lol Like right now.

Heartbreaker put a post in some thread that was a Java program.
Didn't run it as it was a bit of a gag, but I'm sure it did something.
I leave the OOP talk and real techie stuff to the guys that like that stuff.
The real JAR heads (inside joke about Java).
The only Java I want to deal with is my morning cup.
If I'm not mistook, I believe Heartbreaker is quite an affable fellow. His indenture into cyberspace sciences is exceeded only upon his minstrel whimsy upon the arts and the fair craft of spiritual awakening.
If I'm not mistook.
A really fun guy, in laymen's terms.:)

I would say he's probably the best choice for a C from the Heat.
Gawdin seems to get points, but never seemed to do anything in CGY.
Afraid to make any offensive plays.
Like a Backlund without any offense.
I should say a mild, less effective Backlund.
It's time to sit Richardson.
My gord, plays die with him out there.
I'd likely put Froese ahead of Gawdin too. Gawdin has ceilinged imho. Froese obviously has too, but he knows what the 4th line grind is. With Ruzicka, I always think there is more there, and comes down to coaching. Coaching in Sarnia has never been great. It's a culture thing, just yell at them to play better rather than be a teacher.
I have my reservations about Ruzicka, but they boil down to mentality, not skill. Imho, that's where Sutter masters. Teaching guys the required mindset and showing them how an NHLer grinds, in a nutshell. I doubt Ruzicka has ever had that to be honest.
I love what I think Sutter's doing with Rosie. Imagine having Lewis and Richardson on each side of you on the bench explaining every C's tendencies at the dot and how to play in the NHL? How much more do you need? Gawdin's downfall is, you just aren't an NHLl player. They wanted you first.
I think those 2 are Sutter's assts. I've thought that since they were signed.
Sutter tells them the message, they report back on how they think it's being taken.
The rest is up to Rosie.
He's gotten 3 games in now, so maybe, just maybe...I really hope so. He's being coached hard and my initial reaction is, "he's listening and learning". Good sign
He needs that and he needs good coaching. It's all on him to be, "coachable", now.
GREAT chance for him here if he's smart enough to grab it.
I'm cheering him for sure. Everyone in Sarnia is.
Nobody cares where you were drafted Rosie. Few other teams have C positions. Few other teams have this level of coaching.
Take it man. Fully commit 10 years to make millions, then take a breath.
Again, it's really on him. He's skilled enough to be a top 6 C,

And Necas is only 22.

Ya man. After McDavid, Mackinnon, and Matthews, you can argue Aho is the 4th best Center in the NHL right now. Instincts are through the roof. Too fast too skilled too smart.
Necas was good too. He has size and drives play. Lacks finish but creates chances out of nothing.
Seth Jarvis is going to be a player too. Only 19 but was everywhere doing smart things. Give him three more years and he's going to be one of the top players in the league.
And Barkov, I agree. Aho being a 2nd rder makes him really special as a top C in the league.

Unfortunately Tkachuk and Backlund and Hanifin have been the most common on the ice when we lose in OT.
Not always together (one game was).
I would think that a guy like Ruzicka with that xtra space could fly.
He's looked good without the puck too.
Sutter doesn;t quite trust him yet.
I'm really happy that Rosie's making a decent accounting of himself. Not trying to do too much, not doing too little. Sutter's really good with centers, and he's never had a really intense coach to my knowledge. Still hoping Ruzicka finds that anger gene via Sutter. Zacha was high end C with the Sting, so was Rosie for different reasons. Zacha was always intense, Ruzicka likely a higher ceiling, just lacked the consistent intensity to the point you get really frustrated by him. Perfect for Sutter.

Hanifin too. Full control and chips it forward because why? Possession is key. Better to shoot it down the ice on your own side than to chip it into the offensive corner and give up the puck. No smarts at all.
And he just had to turn north to win it back. He is the epitome of tentative.

Aho and Necas are so good. Oilers lost, so we're officially ahead of them regardless of the game in hand. Hopefully the Canes own them and we can W Boston.

Against pretty much a career AHLer...yikes.
In other news, the Ducks move a pt passed us into first. Buddy Robinson opened the scoring for the Ducks.
Jon Gillies stopped 36 of 39 shots for the covid-ravaged blues in a 3-2 OT loss.
