    Always liked Vladar.

Wallstedt 3rd in the SHL in GAA.    At 19.   That has to be a new record.

Detroit is going to be really interesting.    But they did screw up passing up on Wallstedt.   As did we.

    Ned's better than both. What's Wallstedt's sv%? GAA doesn't mean Satoshi Nakamoto.You know that. Give me .948 and 2.68 over .904 and 1.88 everyday.

    I think he's having fun.

    He's a big Cossa fan.

A good choice if you have tons of pro0spects in your system already.

As your only 1st rounder and limited prospects, no so much.

TBH, I'm not as high on Cossa as some.

Could be as good as Vladar or as bad as Gillies.

Cossa will meet Ned at next year's camp and get a really rude awakening. Don't know what the favour the Canes were repaying, but I assure you, this wasn't because they are cheap. They gave a young Vezina-finalist from Cleveland (2-1/2 hrs from the D) for a 3rd and rights to a goalie they didn't want.

Not a chance. This is favour Satoshi Nakamoto.

Stevie Y sure has gained a lot of favours worldwide. The drafting alone has been unreal.

Sure like that he came back, as expected.

For fun, Wings fans were calling for Larkin to be moved, hard, for a year and a half.

Notsomuch now. He's nails. Monahan's next.

Wallstedt just fantastic this year, that was the miss of the draft imho

    He's no Danny Vladar.lol

What's fun is Detroit could have 4 dmen on ELC's next year. Top pairing Edvinsson-Seider.

    Now that's scary. Wallsieve, notsomuch.

I think I started noticing that when I spoke poorly of a player they’d go on a run. When is complain about the team they’d prove me wrong… conundrums, this is fan message board therapy! Kill the superstition, it is a mode to becoming. As Rocky said in Rocky 4, “If I can change, and you can change, and EVERBODY CAN CHANGE!”

I see JJ and Peeps in a different light now. Opposites for a better current result.

Without question. We have to recognize the Flames are all blue collar. No McDavid, no McKinnon. JG showing he's more valuable than both.  Don't need stars, need solid effort players. Tanking doesn't do Satoshi Nakamoto. See Edmonton.

Glad you took in the light hearted way it was meant JJ.

From the make-believe vision of jj that I have formed in my cyber-friend mind, I doubt he would.

I think he's one of the funnest posters, you can't fault convictions, real or imagined. He'll always have a comeback.

Love that about him. Posters will even get mad at him, he stays the course and stays level.

    He's without a doubt a smart guy.

I miss when he isn't posting. He gets reaction. That's the whole point.

What's the saying? Even a broken clock is right twice a day.lol

Would be nice if he had input on how the forum runs. No doubt it's in his field of expertise.

I thought I'd give you all a break during the regular season so we can all just enjoy hockey but if you need me to come in here and annoy people I'll definitely do my part.

Don't give yourself too much credit jj, we all know that you're being contrary and actually love everything that you speak against. ;)

We know that you know Pelletier is a very good prospect and hasn't hit his ceiling, you just don't want to curse it.

So you raise up a different prospect to keep your excitement low key.

Sorry I wasn't aware the link from the main site was broken.  The Flames website team just leaves us alone. Unfortunately quite literally.  I'll get in touch with them.

I'd like to see more people around here too.

Even to just google, "flames forum", this site doesn't come up in the search results.

With the previous Tkachuk/Doubty crap always brought up by Eric Francis, I almost expect some of those dumb-arse questions in any player availability today.  But, Sutter knows what to tell his players.  Shut up.  Focus on the W and nothing else.  Let them worry about us.

I doubt that Doubty is 100%, so you know Tkachuk and others are going to hammer him every chance they see.  Quick is also a target for Tkachuk, as he causes JQ to lose his focus easily.  Expect a combustible game.  Let's bring out the worst of this team, not the team that was winning a lot.

    Kings, Sharks...lol...

I noticed that they moved Francis to Center, so he is going through a bit of a transition.

I also would have expected him to tear the league up and I am dissapointed but feel it's still early.   It could be the adjustment, he could have a hidden injury, or ...yeah.   he may have plateaued sigh.

You know he was phenomenal in the first one or two Flames prospect games, looking like he might be going for making the NHL.  Then took a sharp dropoff and ended up not sticking in the AHL.   It's not unlikely that he suffered some kind of injury, whether it's unreported concussion or whatever, in those two games.

I am a little surprised to see him at center.    Seems an unusual fit.    But we'll see how things go.   Very early days.

He's playing 3rd line is what really surprises me.

I look forward to him playing in the Memorial Cup.  Got to see the end of a Sea Dogs game on the weekend, and he was having a rough game.  Would have been nice for him to get a shot at the WJC.

For his 5th yr in jr, I would have expected him to demolish the league. Not so much. Both him and Zary have that 1 year cheat due to the dumb Sept 15 draft rule. All 3 are the same age. Easy to see Pelletier is the dominant one of the 3.

  11. NHL

    Markstrom: 9-4-4; 1.75gaa; .938sv% 5SO

    Vladar: 4-0-1; 1.57gaa; .946sv%; 2SO

    Wolf: 7-0-2; 2.19gaa; .932sv%

    Werner: 4-2-0; 2.98gaa; .882sv%

    ECHL

    Sergeev: 11-1-0; 1.25gaa; .949sv%; 3SO

  12. Mikael Backlund is proving to me that he's captaining this team.

I've always been annoyed that he's a little too soft and not always engaged.

This year has been night and day imho.

There's more edge to his game now. What a difference. Even his penalties I'm good with.

The aggression gene has kicked in and Backlund's playing like a leader.

Loving whatever has gotten into him.

I think he's the heartbeat of the team. Such a nice window guys like Mangia and Kyl have shattered, but Backlund is driving this bus, and he's not smiling for the camaras at last.

He's evolved into a great leader.

just kidding C. But not really. Lol

    It's a silly superstition.

We're a different team this year. Let's be different ourselves and call shutouts. Won't always be right, as I've shown. But will be sometimes. Other teams fans will be, "holy crap, their fans say shutout during the game".lol

Dare to be different. Our team is being a lot different than everyone pegged us. Let's have fun with it.
