The thing here is if we offer up 9.5 over 8 years its a tough contract to match even in FA because he is not worth 11+ and im sure every team knows this. They can only offer 7 years as opposed to our 8. It truly depends entirely on where he wants to spend the rest of his prime years because its not as if the financial situation in Calgary is worse.

Montreal is playing 4D chess today. Thats a crazy return for Romanov, and an even better trade for Kirby Dach. It seems the Blackhawks have forgotten how to rebuild. Holding onto their older guys and moving a 24 year old multiple 40-goal scorer as well as a 21 year old 3rd OA center. Weird

I like Scheifele a lot and he ticks a lot of boxes. Size, RHS, C, PP. The only thing that concerns me is his defensive play as it leaves a little to be desired.

Crosby and Draisaitl are worth more than the 8.7 and 8.5 of their respective cap hits. Oilers lucked out with the timing on Drai and Pittsburgh lucked out with Sid being so superstitious. As for Toronto, they have 3 guys over 10M and have yet to win a playoff round.

What a brutal way to end the season. As if I wasn't appalled enough at the officiating in this series. They literally took 2 games from the Flames and thats not even considering all the non-calls on the NHLs favorite team. Flames didn't do themselves any favors a lot of times but I'm not even going to pretend for one second like the Oilers earned this series win. Here's hoping they get completely and utterly dismantled in round 3.

You know, sometimes it really feels like the league does anything they can to give their poster-boy the success he hasn't been able to achieve in the post-season. It almost physically hurts to watch because of how blatantly obvious it is. Its pathetic how backwards the officiating has been.

An absolutely disgusting display of officiating in this one. Can't even call something as simple as an icing properly.

This officiating is absolute garbage. Oilers cant hang 5v5 so they keep calling coincidentals and giving the Flames the extra. So blatantly one-sided it makes me sick.

Just about 7 am here. Very worth it.

If that draft is redone today Tkachuk goes second overall no question. Edmonton and Vancouver gave us an absolute gift.
