Conroy is loving the Russian defensemen.

Miromanov is 6’4” 26 years old and a RHS. Has put up good numbers in the AHL the last few years, but hasn’t cracked the NHL roster except for 28 games over 3 seasons.

I don't care as much about the D return as the prospects and picks.

Hague would be good, so would Korczak, but I think Vegas is picky.

More peanut gallery in on it (not you, just the fan guys).

Why would they even mention it if it required a 3rd team?

I don't think we need to ask a 3rd team to do something we can do ourselves.

It's not a ton of cash, with less than a third of the season remaining.

Maybe they read Friedman.

I just find some people (like me) just recycle news

So strange it was announced, but no details.  Very strange.  Miromanov "part of the deal"... Time for dinner, hopefully we know the details in an hour.

It wasn’t announced, the insiders said it was done, but I am sure they are either working on the extension and/or a 3rd party broker for the cap hit.

Oh! A third party team! To retain.

they need to wait for that part of the third party team deal to break the final trade...

Unbelievable if this is true.  Hanifin to VGK already announced.  So whole thing can fall through.  That would be embarrassing for the Flames/VGK.

Be far more embarrassing for the "insiders" than the teams

Vegas is at 49/50 contracts.

They are still looking to add by all indications.

Could explain Miromanov’s inclusion as well

What like they are just trying to shed him now to clear extra

roster spot? If so that’s a nice throw in add or is there more going to LVK from Cgy or 3rd party?

Gives them flexibility. Apparently they want to add a winger still, without being right at the 50 contract max.

Even still, they were only adding Hanifin…so there are more pieces in play…either by 3rd party or between LVK and Cgy otherwise they could have moved nearly anyone for a late pick to

clear roster space

And Dreger releases his name first so that Flames fans begin their meltdowns.

calgary can retain 50% and then the third team can retain half of the rest of the salary, ultimately 25% of the salary.

He’s essentially a pending UFA. Maybe there’s something there, but likely just required to make the deal work for VGK

Mmm i wonder if LVK is trying to get Markstrom too?  This could end up being a blockbuster which would Explain the lack of info

They don’t need Markstrom.

Maybe Mangiapane would be someone they have interest in, but that would require retention.

Essentially I think Calgary trades Hanifin to the third team while retaining 50% and then the third team trades him to Vegas and retains 50% of the rest of the contract...

maybe they're working out what that third team gets in the deal?

Don’t mean they may want him anyway…hill hasn’t been as good as Marky…unlikely but you never know with LVK…

If Manji was a RW I could see it…maybe they want Coleman he’s a RW, on a good contract and term…also having a crazy good year..

Hill has been better than Markstrom, just hasn’t been healthy. Vegas just signed Hill to a big extension, they have no need or reason to trade for Markstrom.

This lack of info is frustrating, but at least few should know imminently, on Wednesday evening.  That's great, allowing the Flames some time to look at trading Markstrom, other, lessor UFAs or contracts with term that may not fir into the long-term plan.  It also allows the option of looking around these last two days and seeing if there any opportunities to buy or weaponize our remaining Cap.
