Canes can't seem to get a lead. So disappointing for them. Not really cheering for anyone, but wouldn't mind newbie Cup winners, therefore Florida and Vancouver. Also like Dallas because they seem the poster child for a successful franchise. Cheering against the Oilers, too much arrogance and why cheer a dysfunctional franchise?

If Dallas loses tonight I’m saying it is game over. Colorado is flying right now, and it will be extremely difficult to win 4/5. Also, Vancouver, what a comeback! With the way that the Oilers lost it, ie way ahead, in full control then the bottom drops out I’m thinking the loss will be especially devastating. I expect every game will be tight, but VCR definitely has confidence to win.

Yes that is very true, but the point is I'd be looking at a higher risk Trifecta of Highest Ceiling picks versus just a bunch of good players. Nobody knows what any of these players will be, but at least it gives me a chance. With this philosophy, I'm downgrading Helenius, Parekh(minimal D is required), Dickenson, Lindstrom(fully mature already, injuries)and Greentree, then upgrading Iginla, Silayev, Buium, Letorneau and Catton. Also adding Luchanko, Beaudoin, Emery, Stiga and Hutson to upgrades based on U18 performances...

That is very true, there are no guarantees and many don’t work out. However, what kind of a cruel joke is it if we have 3 years of such “winning” and end up with the same mushy middle, non-Cup competitive team we’ve had for the past 35 years (2004 lightning in a bottle excepted)? Don’t know about you but I don’t have that long to wait for success. Going for broke, only 1 team wins every year, disappointed is hockey’s middle name.

Some heritage type options would be great, a unique treat. Also, loved that Field cafe, had some great food there. Not sure why it’s about impossible to get decent food on the Saddledome concourse? Maybe some “attached” food courts? Why not have a ring of viewing areas, restaurants, food courts, tech areas, WCs and etc? Don’t need to fit everything into a rectangular box.

Not a fan of an ugly concrete/glass box with cramped innards. How hard is it to design something unique and inspiring, eg high tech, excellent food, spacious seating?

Ultimately Lindholm was a secondary piece, couldn’t drive his own line and play suffered without other elite players. If Helenius is the same it would be a big 1st round failure for the Flames. I’m hoping for a solid 2-way, play-driving scorer(Tij), an excellent play-driving C(Catton), a dynamic, physical offensive D(Yakemchuk), or one of the Top6 dropping down miraculously from above… Actually, I want two of the above. C’mon Conny, make it happen…

That’s a great scouting report from the U18. Definitely worth reading and sharing as you get more information on the players mostly outside of the Top10. Definitely some guys to look out for.
