Three of four picks are CHL players so far.

 

Think the Flames will go to Europe or College players soon. CHL players have to be signed within two years. Europe/NCAA buys some development time

I do wish the Flames would scout Internationally  more. Maybe they do.

Outside of the first round, you're just trying to find NHL players. BPA is the way to go.

 

I would like more defence or RHS, but when you chase it, you end up looking foolish in a few years.

ya, we do, but also, need to draft D too. Just means that they see the forward players better. But that means the team values F more than D as they'd put some D in those spots. So it depends...organizational Philosophy.

some teams' philosophies lean more D than others. So while it depends on what falls to a pick, it also depends on if your team puts D in those spots. So while the there are scouting sites and networks for tv and internet, teams draft their own philosophy and Flames might not have strong D scouts.
