Ha,ha, thanks! A draft, that has Brandsegg Nygard going 2nd overall isn't realistic:) They also have a lot of guys that are not ranked, so the random factor is even bigger. And I really forgot to draft another D in the 3rd or 4th round, though I really liked the forwards still available. I'm really intrigued by the goalie Nabokov, whom I picked in the 4th round. At 21 years, he isn't a guy you normally draft if your looking for longterm potential. He also doesn't have the preferred size (6'1 179lbs) for a goalie. Yet he managed to copy his strong numbers in russian juniors in his first season in the KHL. And even better numbers in the playoffs. His contract runs out after next season, so he could be kind of an insurance plan, if Wolf struggles, or he could become his tandem partner down the road.

I will never be a fan of a system that gifts the worst teams (many of them becoming so intentionally) the best odds at the top talent. IMO I think all teams that miss the playoffs should have an equall chance at the nr.1 pick!

As much as i would like us adding another top16 pick, I don't think anyone would trade it for Markstrom without us adding something significant. Even if we added the VAN 1st, I'm not sure it would be enough, depending which team we trade with. The only team that might be desperate enough to even think about a 1st for Markstrom might be Ottawa with their late 1st. Though it's probably more realistic to think that an offer would start with their early 2nd. As for Jersey, I think with the addition of Allen they are probaly looking for a younger goalie that can share the starting job with him and take over the nr.1 in a couple of seasons. Not that i watch the Devils closely, but why do you think that Holtz is trending bust territory? The guy had his first full season, playing in the bottom 6 under 12min. per game and scored 28 points. Sounds pretty solid for a rookie season given his role, doesn't it?

Good overall game from the team, liked the play of the young guys Coronato and Pelletier in this one. And a filthy backhand pass by Hubi on a hot Sharky, nice! Also liked Hanley's first look in a flames jersey. Don't see Tampa going anywhere deep with that Defense they have minus Hedman.

Unfortunately crosser put it pretty well, we put up a good fight but lacked the game changer. Maybe not the most popular opinion, but this game as well as the season, shows me that Lindholm should be dealt asap. Guys have a good night/day, I seriously need some sleep.

we are battling but chasing the play way to often and when we have the puck passes aren't connecting. Those are the times, when you wish you had a 10m player to make a game changing play.

I totally get you, I'm still mad they snagged Drai before we could pick him, a huge part of that is certainly that he is a fellow german and I cheered for his father, when he was still playing. It's tough for me to hate the guy, he would have solved so many problems for our franchise.

Absolutely agree, when their forwards are in, they are a tough team to defend. I really like the battle in the second.

I really loved Bid Z punishing hits and he has a pretty good wrist shot. And when he is on, he also plays a pretty solid D game. Though I think his game also slipped after his trade request. So maybe it was the right time to trade him, who know's. And yeah most 3rd pairing guys don't get you more than a 3rd. But overall Zadorov's play improved in his time here and a big, physical D-man would be in demand for playoff teams, that want to go deep. That's why I thought we should get at least a 2nd, especially from a division rival. And that the 3rd is 3 drafts from now is also not helping us anytime soon, unless we use it in another trade.

It's actually the 2024 5th that is from Chicago I expected at least a 2nd for Zad and it should've been more from a division rival.

Great Comebackwin in the third against one of the best teams in the west. Both goalies didn't have a good game, though kudos to Marky taking a page out of Vladdar's book and shutting it down in the 3rd. Great game by the Lindholm & 4th line and a filthy pass from Zary. I'd say last season we would have lost after Dallas scored the 4th goal, so nice to see the Flames battling hard to the end, even when they're not playing great. I can't really imagine where we would be in the standings, if we could cut down on the big individual mistakes (especially turnovers).

Interesting couple of games! I thought the game against the Islanders was a very entertaining one, which we should have won. Unfortunately we couldn't bury one of the many chances in OT. Then against Seattle I thought it wasn't really a good game, but we got 2 points. I liked the first period, then followed it up with really bad second, but battled hard in the third. I like Huberdeau's game since the Canucks victory, he looks way better than before. Andersson had a nice bounce back game after his big giveaway agains the Isles. Outside of that second goal, Vladar was very good, made several big saves in the 2nd half of the game. The third pairing has me a bit worried right now, they have not been good these past 2 games, especially #16. I don't know if it is just me, but I think Zad looks not really that motivated out there since his trade request. He's also back to his lazy penalties, which he had in his starting time here.

Nice win, easily Lindholm's and Huberdeau's best games this season. All around good performance from the team. Whether that is a turn in their games or the result of a tired Canucks team remains to be seen. At least the win gets me in a tiny bit better mood for work:) Alright guys wish you a good night, almost time to get ready for work.
