Missed the last 2 games due to work. At least I could record the game at Seattle, so I watched it today. From watching the Highlights and reading a couple of forums, it seems like we had a good game against the Stars, but unfortunately lost. Yesterdays game was a good one. Thought the late powerplay goal in the second was the turning point. Vladar was awesome, making several strong saves in the first 2 periods to keep us in the game. Backs and Sharangovich had strong games and were rewared on the scoresheet. Also happy for the young guys Zary and Pospisil to contribute. Hope the win gives the guys some confidence going forward.

You're not the only one, hence the "Co" as I didn't remember all guys at that moment. I also agree with the questioning of Hunt on the Top Line and PP. By all means the guy is a 13th forward for a reason.

On the positive side, Marky is doing everything to keep a close game and has an assist. And I really like Weegar on the back end. The guy should be on our top PP permantly.

Coronato is having a rough game so far, his passes don't connect at all. Huberdeau should switch jobs and join the entertainment sector. I think as a magician he could become pretty famous, with the amount of time he goes invisible.

Wasn't it some kind of rotation between Stone, Gilbert and Co before we acquired Stecher?

The bottom 6 guys, while far from good, are at least trying out there. The Top6 is a disaster tonight! Like you could've put some puppets in the six sweaters and probably got the same result! The Lindholm line with zero shots after 2 periods is pretty much telling. And the Kadri line gets dismantled every time Detroits TopLine is out with them! I really feel for Vladar tonight, the guy is trying his best and still gets clobbered thanks to his teammates.

Nice shot by Sharangovich, congrats on his first goal for the Flames. Otherwise an awful game by our team, especially our retirement contract line! If this game wasn't streamed in german TV, I would have tuned out after the 1:4.

Ruzicka is having a really good start! Personally, I would put him at Center on the Top line and shifting Lindholm to RW and see if his transition game can help Hubi and Lindholm.

Haha, good one. Though seriously, I can't remember the last time we got a good goal call for us when there is even a tiny bit of controverse situation in it.

I here you, couldn't they use a similar system like in soccer, there they have a chip/sensor or something in the puck, which goes off when the puck crosses the goalline completly.

Missed the first period and only took a quick peek at the goals. Looked like both goalies were struggling in the 1st. I think Vladar looked better in the second, a couple of good saves against Johnson and Peterka. I like our 4th line so far and Lindholm had to score there at the end of the period.

Some general observations as well as individual ones from this game. I thought the officiating was very poor! Had some weak calls on both sides, which I'm kind of used to at the start of the season. But if you call every little hook and hold, how is that blatant slash from Malkin on Big Z, after he got called, not a penalty? And the non call on the clear interference on Kadri from Crosby, when he tried to get out of the net is also not understandable. Must be the Superstar bonus?! I thought after the first, we played a pretty solid second, but the passing in this game as well as the puck handling from the Flames was pretty brutal in the last 40min. I don't know if the ice was so bad, as the Pens had equal trouble in the second, or if the Flames were totally out of sync. Outside of the Backlund, Coleman, whoever line there seems to be no chemistry 5on5. Although I didn't watch the first Pens goal, as I was still in the bathroom at that time, I thought the 3rd period was pretty sloppy as mentioned above. A bad pass by Coleman followed by a bad pinch from Weegar let to the 2 on 1 for the Smith goal. The 4th goal was another bad pass by Hanifin and even the empty netter was the result of a poor pass by Andersson. So the positves for me are the good play from Markstrom especially in the 1st, Coronato's first goal which was a nice zip. I thought Sharangovich was more noticable in his second game. I also liked Gilbert's game in the few minutes he had on the backend. On the negative side I thought all of our top4 Dman had a rough game outside of the PK. A lot of bad outlet passes coupled with bad positioning. I get really frustrated with our 10 million player. I mean I watched Tanguay here back in the day, so I kind of should be used to overpassing😅 But Huberdeau is at least equally frustrating. At minimum two times he was in a great shooting spot, and decided to throw a blind backhandpass that his teammate couldn't reach. And I have yet to see Kadri clicking with anyone on this roster. That's all for this game, hope we see a better performance on monday.

Yeah you don't buy out a guy like Mangiapane, unless he isn't good enough to be a Top9 player. But if things don't look to well he might be a trade candidate. Ideally for a cheaper guy in a similar position. For example, I could maybe see a swap with VAN for Garland.

With all the terrible news today, we finally got something good. I think this a good deal for both sides. If he manages to stay healthy for the most part, he will also become the second player to play 1000 games for the Calgary Flames.
