Hmmm. @cross16, did you this year? @sak22 maybe?

Good year to watch the Wranglers maybe?

Suniev off to a hot start with UMass, prospect watch year? I REALLY liked Bell in camp. People say raw, but I don't even know what that means tbh. "He's got the raw skills". You mean, "he's got the skills"?

The amount of games is low.  They need to fix the AWrangler's schedule.  It shows you nothing but what's ahead.

No results, no previous games.

 I'm still at work..

That brings back a mem. I was at a Niagara Falls, NY Casino, over-nighted for a Yes show my buddies treated me to for my bday. Went way early, they wanted to gamble and found out I don't.

I bellied up to the bar, this older, seemingly wasted guy orders 2 beers over my shoulder. I told the barkeep, "yeah put it on my tab". Suddenly I'm with him and his buddy having a great time for about 4 hours.

My buddies came and we went for dinner. They're giving me the, "wow, that guy's a junkie, what are you doing"? He wasn't, he used to be. lol

Walk in for the show, "there he is"! Them again. They had great seats, said come back here after the show. I do, we go backstage, the band knows him. Turns out, the other guy is his "handler". Says to me privately, "Do you know who the NY Dolls are"? Yeah.

"Well that was Dave's band, he was the singer". He was pissed that he told me.lol I told him I didn't give a Satoshi Nakamoto, I don't star gaze. Now it's like 1am and we're back in the bar. They bailed about 2. His handler gave me his card and Dave said, "come to NY man, look me up".

I never did, but he's still doing well. I prolly should someday. That was a fun night, my guts were sore from laughing so much. Told my buddies in the morning, "yeah, that 'junkie' was the singer for the NY Dolls". lol

I showed them his pics via google. They were beside themselves. Never judge a book by it's cover.

The way the Yes guys knew him and he introduced me as his buddy...and I had no idea who he was.lol

To my eyes, another game with too little effort from most of the team.

I can't fault Markstrom on any of the goals; two deflections and a screen.

Oh well, at least I will enjoy myself at the Saddledome watching the Doobie Brothers tonight.

I will never get tired of this song!!

I hate this narrative that if the effort was there then the goals are there too.  That's just not always the case.  We just won't score even if the effort was there.

The effort is/was there in the first period.  Then lack of skills to finish dejected everyone.  Now we go into the third period believing we won't score.

I don't think that is the narrative. 7 games in you can understand scoring slumps, you can understand system issues, you can understand execution not being close to 100%, but it's really tough to comprehend why the effort isn't there. In particular the energy or passion.

Not sure what effort we are looking for but I sure say the Rangers winning most of the puck battles, I didn't see the Flames fighting through traffic and I really didn't see much of a 2nd effort on lost puck battles. This is obviously not a high skilled team that is going to score at will based on individual talent, but I also think it's a lot better than what they are showing.

Yes, as long as it my financial situation stays the same I plan on staying through the last year of the Dome and first year of the new building at the minimum.  I didn't go last night, I barely even watched was more invested in the NLCS game 7 and I don't even really care about either of those teams, I also skipped Sunday's game for football.  My care for the team and league is a lot lower than it usually is in October.

I don't get the sense that the players don't want to play for the coach.  I have noticed that sometimes, the players don't react when they see one of their players get cheap shotted.  Ruzicka got creamed from a far distance and the play went up the ice.  Nobody reacted.  Nobody took it to go after Vessey any time after that happened, not thoughout the game.  They stuck up for Coleman on a much less dirty play.

I don't understand the lack of second effort.  We win a lot of battles where we stick it out.  I would call those first efforts that continue.  I watched a few shifts that we absolutely owned the play.  An entire shift.  What happens at the end is simply just throwing the puck away and skating off.  The Rags out there for an extended shift and we lob the puck at the net?  Full possession and we simply decide time to get off so we just get rid of it?

We pass like we have the best snipers waiting to shoot.  Then pass away from the middle or slot.  Call it good goaltending if you like (Igor was good for what it's worth), but we get situations where the goalie is down and out and we simply can't get it towards the open cage.  At least 3 games (if not more) that we did that.  It's like we have lines made up of Ritchie's.  Even those greasy goals are not coming.

Is it strange that the best we looked was during the only 5 minutes of Rozie's icetime?  Not to suggest that he was the difference, but that line allowed the others to solidify.  Backlund's line looked best, though they didn't change at all during the game.  Kadri was good to start and then to finish.  Think he was re-united with Dube, but not certain.

I would need to watch the game again to be sure, but I have zero desire to do that.  Blues will be a test.  Oilers with their bad goaltending will be a beatdown, but no idea who wins it.  Another 8-6 type score?  EDM seems capable of losing those types of games.  And we seem capable of letting in 8.

I don't think that is about playing for the coach, it's about playing for each other.

remember the year Benny or someone else stuck up for a guy and the team bonded, but before it seemed no one was playing for the other teammates. It feels like we need that. it could have been Engelland?

memory is foggy today... but.

Zadorov called the team out yesterday, maybe the locker room is divided.

aside, this organization feels a lot like a stubborn patient who doesn't want to take their meds, or do the necessary surgery to fix a problem, or a person who doesn't want to put the time in to fix the car. The dashboard light has gone on but the owner is ignoring it...

this feels awfully like the Iginla/Kipper era. The decline and the clinging to life.

That is kinda what I was talking about.

Remember Gio and Tkachuk and the rift that began?

I see a bit of a fracture and it may directly relate to minutes.

Guys not getting minutes so the are PO'd and won't bother sticking up for a guy.

I find it difficult to attribute the blame right now, sine there is very little even play.

So many line combos and they don't last, so you don't know if the players are giving up due to it.

A squeaker going in like that 3rd goal.

It was an even game, more or less other than two PP goals.

That goes in and you hear the air coming out.

Two games with the exact same weak goal.

Yet other teams are capable of scoring even with those weak ones.
