See. Makes no sense for us to acquire more picks. We have the same scouting staff since the flames left Atlanta. We’re outta touch, and outta our minds.

At least we aren't Arizona Coyotes.  They could've traded down and still got their players.

i am just going off the board so it seems like off the board in relation to who was left.

My only issue is that we pick a guy not as high as others that were left.

But what do I know.

We haven't had that big a guy in some time.

I'm starting to think we start getting more Euros in drafts and trades.

First two players picked by Connie were from former Soviet Bloc countries.

It’s like the Toffoli trade. Isn’t it bad but it’s underwhelming.

there were higher upside players on the board they should have gone with imo.

My initial reaction is I agree with you.

However, it wasn't totally off the board, so that's nice.

Here's a potential angle on Honzek:

May have gone top 10 if he didn't get injured.   We get size and skill.

It's hard to evaluate guys that get injured like this.   He was, simply, not quite as good when he came back.

But, our silver lining is that he may need the off-season to fully recover.  And if so, then, he could return to that top-10 form.

What injury did he have?

Ok the Toffoil trade and now this pick…Conroy seems to almost be playing it safe..

not sure this inspires confidence for the Hanifin trade whenever that comes..

I will say least he hasn’t made a panic trade with Hanifin so least that bodes well…

as for the draft maybe they nab a diamon in the rough in the next few rounds
