I don't see him in the same value as Chiarot.  I liked him in the playoffs, but a couple of blown plays ended our run.  We will miss the size though.  But not at 4.75M

Ya I really thought we had a shot at keeping Gubby on a team friendly deal.. since he finally found a role.. but cant blame him for taking a 4x4+ if they wanted to offer it

solid #2 center , plays 200ft-- has always been in the 25-30 goal range over a full season , from the 2nd line ..plays hard -- plays hard in the playoffs

what more do u want from a #2?  Toffoli immediately gets better as well

I wanted Andre too , but not at better than 6x$5.5

I think that’s about what Andre did sign for 5X5 ish? Pretty reasonable…hard miss on him

so players like Kadri, Kilngberg, both Stromes, Sony Milano ... lots of more appealing names still out there .. calm down people

Some are OK for 2nd line etc…

Kadri…is 31! Probably after a 6 or 7 year deal at over 8 mil…NOT worth it…

having said that, there are a lot of

decent UFA’s and Cgy has a fair

bit of free cash, with some teams hard on the cap that’s possible an area we

could seriously explore…maybe even trade market could open up for Backlund or others once Kadri and Gaudreau are

off the boards?

We won't be anywhere near Klingberg.  We don't pay that much for D.

If anything, we are all in on Kadri, miss our on some actually good players and then lose Kardi to someone else.

To put it in perspective, we had a playoff team and lost the following:

Gaudreau

Yarnkrok (not gone yet)

Guddy

Zaddy

Carpenter (blech)

Ritchie

Stone

We face the possibility of Tkachuk walking us to FA.  He is the top player on the team now and could easily sign for top money.  Or he could be PO'd with the team and want to go.  I would hope that he has already had the difficult conversations with Tkachuk and laid out the framework of a deal.

Overall, we haven't fallen that far except for losing Gaudreau.  I hate the idea of jumping on the top players, but the best players to replace the ones gone will go first.

he's broken 20 g twice in his career ..

for $5.5 M  I want more than this ..

Lol i think you play him on LW with Lindholm and Tachuck he will be producing 30+ at 5.5 x 5 he’d have been a

steal of  deal…

or

2nd line him with maybe a Stone type

Ctr and Toffoil and he’s gonna produce great numbers well worth a 5.5x5 contract…

matrers not now anyway

Could I  have been wrong on Gawdin?

Guys like that are okay on teams like ANA.

They get the minutes and improve over time.

What surprises me is that we couldn't make a trade with him being sought after?

What else is TDL for?

Remember Derrek Grant?

Scored 15 goals in ANA last year.

What has truely come to light in the past few hours is our GM is not the right indivdual for the position. There have been far to many mulligans allowed for this guy for me.

Give it up.. it's getting old

We see what happens ..we don't see what's happening behind the scenes or with other teams .. you can't just keep blowing up a team  every year you don't get a cup

Even his bad signings ..you may as well fire every other gm in the league e at the same time because there was a high demand bidding war ..

It's going to be a long summer.  Won't know what the lineup will look like until September.  Won't have RFA signed until August at latest.  Not likely in on any big name out there, except perhaps Kadri.  Without 13, it's hard to construct a meaningful lineup.

Kadri represents a need for a #2C.  Would use Mange and Toffoli maybe.

Backlund plays with who, other than Coleman.

Lots of 4th line players and a couple of kids that could come in.

But if we landed Kadri, then Backlund makes less sense.

We have some guys that could play 3 or 4C.

Still need to replace Gaudreau in some way.

Some undervalued playmaker?

Top RW to move Tkachuk to LW?

With STL signing Thomas, but Kyrou remains not extended, does STL dangle him for Tkachuk?

We would need to take another contract from them to make it work.

Sheesh, Tkachuk for Kyrou would be shades of Al McInnis for Phil Housley.  Kyrou is so vanilla.  Tkachuk gives you so much intangibles.  It would be like trading stats for stats and place no value in anything else.

I'd take Tarasenko too in that deal

Yeah, I know.  Value wise, I think Tkachuk is worth mopre than Kyrou.

But I don't know if Tank + Kyrou is too steep.

The other thing is that Tank is a pending UFA.

Another crappy situation to be in unless you lock him up right away.

Or you are ready to trade him 100% at the TDL.

No more pending UFA's being kept until the off-season.

In a wee bit of karmic irony...  Word is Johnny is waiting on Philly.. but nobody is helping them move cap.. may end up with NJ instead of his dream spot lol

Ha!

good!

i say BT should go offer to take JVR +1st rounder in 2024 (phi has 2)

I know JVR is not a replacement but could slot in for a year on line 2 or 3?

at 7 mil we could swing that and get a pick back from Loosing out on lack of

action on Gaudreau?

It would have to be more value than just Kyrou.
