  1. I don't get offended unless I have high personal respect for someone how is this an issue? I respect that everyone is entitled to opinions and their right to voice them and be respectful, but let's not forget how we got here. My comments were simply made to show that I am not personally or professionally affected by the comments of individuals I do not know.
  2. In order to be offended I first have to respect you and your opinion. Now this statement is not personal nor should it be offensive, I don't know you personally to be offended. However, I will add that you do this constantly to multiple people on here who Don't see your opinion, which does offend them. If you or others wish to believe this club is on track to hoist a cup now or in the near future fine, I don't share that position. My statement was and still is you can toss these players in a bag and shake the crap out its not going to change the ingredients you started with. We were a juggernaut in the mid to late 80s every year for 5-6 years this franchise iced a team that was a huge favorite to win a cup, there are my standards. If the goal is to win then losing should not be accepted, what I see is too high of a comfort level and excuses that justify losing far too often.
  3. Sutter bahahha yup its his fault. Strange how positions and personal change but the justification for the same results actions and excuses are acceptable. We have a roster of good complimentary players that all.
  4. We can redecorate the Titanic but we have to come to terms with the fact that just cosmetic reconstruction is not going to change the outcome. We have complimentary players, name an elite player on this team. It has been to be done by committee and that's the issue. If they don't play as a unit the results are OT/ Shoot out loss or a Loss, plain and simple. In the last two games, we have lost both games with a 2 shot lead. This club needs 3+ to win, Marky is better but lets in one muffin a game. You can blend the lineup all you want, the results will always be the same. Until you acquire a stud top 3 player, we will be nothing more than average.
  5. Good for Phillips tonight a bit of bitter revenge. That shot by Sharogovich was something, that's a shot wow, now use it. The rest of the game 🤮, typical Flames fashion good 1-period Satoshi Nakamoto for the rest of the game. I really love the creativity of our power play, it's just lethal.
  6. I could see there is a struggle with D zone coverage but it's mind-numbing that you are incapable of recognizing that it's not a good thing to be behind the opposition when you don't have the puck. Or the absolutely brilliant creativity of taking shots from the outside and missing the net and everyone is behind coverage or funneling to the net when everyone is behind coverage. What is really troubling is the inability to stop turnovers....have said it so many times these players are incapable of playing when under pressure, every coach of the opposition knows it. A perfect example was Mags on the first goal, trying to force something that is just not there, the D can't make a simple exit pass however the forwards and support are on the other side of the ice. It is junior hockey crap that just doesn't work. I like Huska and Conroy but you have to know your demographic, this group of guys is 100% incapable of playing this style and the inability to not come to terms with that is whats concerns me the most.
  7. The WHL beer league style Huska wants to play is not going to work with this group. The past two games have been extremely difficult to watch, give away after giving away lazy dumb-Hash Rate penalties slow, and very little offensive pressure. Our supposed great D-man have been pylons... The positive so far is Marky, I thought Corranoto looked tired and overwhelmed till the goal. They are extremely lucky to be 1-1, they deserved to lose handily in both games. Best thing is they are happy and enjoy coming to the rink at least that has translated into much better play this year.
  8. 100% I am glad I am not the only one that noticed that. He isn't that affective in my opinion, Tanev usually makes players look better but not in this instant.
  9. Phone the cops as the Flames stole one, if not for Markstrom they get clobbered. The new system Huska is loose for my liking. They had far too many turnovers and got drastically outplayed lucky to get away with this one. The lines were just in a constant blender. Take the 2 points
  10. The only way this club is successful this season is stellar goaltending, better D coverage, and some offensive balance similar to the Kraken last season. Without that happening it will be a very long season. I am mildly optimistic that the gleeful departure of the last coach is enough motivation to create the outcomes everyone is hoping for.
  11. Huberdeau-Lindholm-Dube Sharangovich-Kadri-Coronato Mangiapane-Backlund-Coleman Hunt- Ruzicka-Duehr Aj Greer Hanifin-Andersson Zadorov-Weegar Oesterle-Tanev Gilbert Markstrom Vladar That looks better, Hunt & Scwidnt for me just didn't cut it
  12. The systems Huska has them playing are just so much better to watch, the turnovers, never leaving our zone, more turnovers, poor coverage, and of course the intimidation factor of the speed and accuracy of the passes oh my god it was just so invigorating watch. Markstorm with the 1st shot goal start, the offensive creativity is just mind-blowing, the d zone breakouts are world-class and the liberties taken on prospects were actually entertaining to watch. It so nice to see the players in their happy places all excited and more energized for the season, it's going to be so much fun. However, sarcasm aside, Let the 2023-2024 season of Satoshi Nakamototy excuses begin!!!
  13. Well in hindsight was it not the city that created the issue to begin with? If the original deal had been followed through on this would not be an issue. I think I mentioned a long time ago, that this would end up costing the tax payers and city more in the end because of bad decisions at the council level. This problem is a pandemic in most cites with poor decisions at the government level only to cost more in the end, not surprised at all by this.
  14. Well so much for my thoughts. For me, Schindt and Hunt are just too far of a reach even at 4th line minutes. The Coronato with Backs IMHO they are trying to establish the Mag's effect and hope Corronato elevates to a huge producer while sheltering him for the first little stretch. I love Dube but the guy is not that great at putting the biscuit in the basket. Not a fan of Osterle just think he is going to be a huge liability for this team
  15. Personally, if you asked Zary 8-10 minutes in the big league or 15 -18 minutes in the AHL, pretty sure he would take option A. With the way the roster is lining up we have no option but to settle for skill versus size. I for one agree that without some form of inimidition other clubs are going to take liberties with skilled players. Zary is my choice at 4th line Center right now based on observations of the preseason, last night's game was the defining factor. Schwindt and Hunt were overwhelmed last night and it didn't seem to affect Zary. Really it is going to be musical chairs anyway on the 4th line. Coronato has proven he can play so has deserves a shot at the top 6 until proven otherwise. Ruzicka, Sigh I give him an opportunity in the top 6, man the guy who has it just doesn't use it, would be extremely frustrating as a developed person or a coach as its great than crap there is never a middle ground. Sharangovich really has been very underwhelming IMHO. He has the speed, very defensively sound, but this shot that Conroy speaks of has not seen it. Putting him on the 4th line with Zary and Duehr IMHO is not a bad idea. He is going to be a great skater and he will be vital on the penalty kill as well. So it's not like he isn't going to get 12-16 minutes of ice time. I think Klapka should be your 13 man on the forward roster
  16. Based on the game last night, From what I saw it's going to be magical chairs for 4th line C, I would say I give the edge to Zary. Rooney is a bust for me not even a standout in the AHL. Schwindt and Hunt show moments but in last night's game, they were both overwhelmed with the talent and speed of the game, Zary did not. One guy who has been extremely underwhelming for me is Sharangovich, he seems fine defensively but where is this big shot he has, have not seen it once. IMHO he should be in the 4th line right now, play his way up, and build some confidence. There is no way in Hell does Govih be gifted a top 6 spot, others have shown far better than him. I am not a big fan of Mags up there either but he is a best choice for now. Hubie Lindholm Mags Ruzicka Kadri Corronato Dube Backs Coleman Govich Zary Duehr This to me has the speed and protection that is required for each line. You need the best players to be the best players. What we have with this is speed through the roster now, the bottom 6 should be better than last year. What concerns me the most this season is D and goaltending, none of the goalies have looked great and the new coverage seems to be a mystery to most of them. With the silence of Kylington just LTIR him and be done with him. Osterle has been fine when the talent isn't high quality but was a huge liability last night. Solv was OK, really if you're looking for a Kylington replacement then Porier is the best option. He has been slow back from his injury but appeared to be fine with the talent level last night. Put him with Tanev, Tanev makes everyone better. Hanifin Anderson Weegar Zadorov Tanev Porier Osterle
  17. Best guy on the ice was Corronto on both sides for sure. Markstrom letting muffins in again, I sure hope he doesn't have a year like the previous one. They definitely need to work on their transition game out of their own zone, 1st was a tire fire.
  18. Excuses that's all you here. I would change the moto to NO EXCUSE, IMHO if you have to use an excuse to justify poor performance just tells me you were never ready in the first place.
  19. Preseason or not that was Fing embarrassing, with that many vets and you lose to an AHL team is not acceptable. The vets should be 10000% embarrassed by this, dreadful
  20. Osterle looks fine, Actually didn't mind Jonathan Aspirot either. Skates a little better than Oster and seems to jump into the play as well nicley, a brief sample but could be a good find. I thought Rosie looked very good tonight as did Zary. Hunt for me is Ok but not great. I could see Rosie higher in the line with Kadri needing someone with size to hold the puck. Honzek you can see the raw talent but man he is like 1 second behind on moving the puck. Pelts is gone for awhile so I can see Coronato sticking around as he seems to be the most talented of them all right now. It is going to be a battle for 4th line center, Bishop, Zary, Hunt or Jones could all take a spot. It will be a far different line than what we have seen in the past few years. Nice to see Wolf have a bounce back, still think he bounces back to the A though.
  21. So watched both games and was pleasantly surprised by some new guys. Now it is preseason. and I Love the Wolf story but his performance last night didn't surprise me. If he does what he has always done he will figure it out hopefully. Morin last night was an eye-opener, for an 18-year-old he didn't look out of place. Even watching the Wranglers last year, Peterson looked good last night as well. Outside of that nobody just off the page and made you go Wow. In the orca game, Hubie looked more like himself, and Kadri seemed better. The one that stood out was Corronato, the kid looked engaged and loved his tenacity on the puck to create a turnover on one of the goals. His shot is awesome, and he seems posed to make the roster. I believe he is better suited in a top-six forward more so than Pelts. We need a shooter in the top 6 so IMHO I could see this: The D that stood out for me was Osterle. The guy just seemed at ease never panicked skated well and got in on the rush, it's a short sample but liked what I saw. One thing is I really wish Kylington the best of luck with whatever is troubling him, however, it's time to just put him on LTIR and be done with it. Hubie Lindholm Sharangovich Rosie Kadri Corranto Mags Backs Coleman Dube ??? Duehr Pelts from what I saw will be out for 4-6 Weeks, hope I am wrong but that injury didn't look good. A good 4th line guy could be Bishop, or maybe Zary, Peterson, or Strogrem, it's up for grabs. As Pelts gets back on the roster, we need a guy that can be transferred back to the AHL. A new 4th line has changed, but a 4th line with straight-line guys with speed grit, and some skill is the new trend, in all essence a 3b hybrid. Hanifin Anderson Weegar Tanev Osterle Zadorov Gilbert
  22. He was invisible in both games, I was hoping for more but overall he wasn't noticeable at all. Ciona has been noticeable in both games, has just engaged, and can't question his competitive level. In last night's game, Coronato looked good, and Nikolaev, Klapka, Ciona were noticeable. The PTO Pilling was actually quite a breath of fresh air as well. He's a bigger guy who skates well, reads the plays well, very good on the PK could be a good find for a bottom-six type Trevor Lewis replacement maybe One thing for sure is the D prospects and Goaltending are very very poor. This club is in dire straits with D prospects. Morin had moments but he's very very raw, he has a long way to improve.
  23. If the speculated offer for Lindholm is on the table, and it hasn't been signed speaks volumes IMHO. What we have learned with JG and MT is that players will sign lower for the market they want. MT couldn't get out of his Sorels fast enough for sandals and took less. The taxes break thing is old as well, find a better accountant as they can work wonders for taxes. Secondly, the market for Lindholm and Hanifin may not be there and the second factor is we have SFA in prospects or roster players to replace them. Lindy has been here long enough and knows the market, if it was simply the money this would be done. Going off of some interviews with past players, this organization has been an enigma of poor attitude for decades from coaches to players. It's a big decision for a guy like Lindholm to sign here long-term, the club is trending in the wrong direction more players are wanting out than wanting in. I can see why these guys want out, it would be like a breath of fresh air frankly. Once Hanfin, Lindholm, and Backs find new homes they will be rejuvenated by their moves. Just the thought of a change is probably enticing right now.
  24. Well deserved, he was a large reason they had the run they did in 2004. I still think that Fleury should have his number in the rafters as well. Unfortunately, it's the off-ice things that override the on-ice accomplishments with him. To bad was a hell of a player for the Flames, sad story though
  25. Did anyone catch the Regher interview on Barn Burner? Found it a very interesting perspective on the back end of that interview. His thoughts on players, after hockey life ect. Loved Reggie, and his conversation on a contract extension with LA and how he turned down 1 extra year and 3 million in his twilight years. Not your average player for sure, he just felt his body was only good for that duration which was not far from his body, his teammates, or the organization, class act for sure. Strange how 2 former players and Flames guys have the same perspective on today's players, the team, and decisions that have been made with this organization recently. Good listen if you have the time IMHO anyway.
