Get to the goalie early and get a lead, though it's never safe. Defend the zone. Interesting choice for starter. Vladar had a bit of an off game last time against the AVS, but managed to hold the fort. B2B set, so does Sutter look for the starter to get the wasier of the two? He's definitely our 3C. Strong on the puck, strong on the boards. I'm proud of him. It took a lot of work to get this far. Sutter worked with Mitch Love to get Ruzie moving faster this season in the A. Was the biggest problem at camp. Says he could be a 2C if he puts in the work to get there. Doesn't want a 4C. Was in the middle of praising him for a great play where he weaved around players, protected the puck, skated it out. Then seconds late made a stupid play that cost a goal. When he gets on the puck carrier, they can't do a lot. When he gives them 20 feet, it's over. He should do the following: hang onto the puck when going on offense; he's tough to check and protects the puck/dekes well look for a lane and shoot on net when he has the puck in the D-zone with forecheckers on him, pass to Guddy, That is all. MacKinnon's absence will severely hurt the Avs' attack heading into Tuesday's tilt considering he has racked up 27 points in his last 20 contests, including nine power-play points. Nazem Kadri should be in the mix for MacKinnon's spot on the top line while Devon Toews jumps up to the No. 1 power-play unit.
