  1. VegasBorn D Noah Hanifin (50%) #Flames F David Edstrom D Kaedan Korczak 2025 2nd round pick Don't know if this is real, just the only mention of it so far.
  2. Deal is done. Not sure what it includes, but 1st believed to be part.
  3. Totally guessing here: 1st + Edstrom + Hague They trade a guy in Europe and a D that would get religated to 7th with a full roster. Is that a decent deal or way too much.
  4. Heard mentioned Brisson or Edstrom. Top prospects perhaps. Vegas didn't get where they are by overpaying though.
  5. Hmm, I don't know what Vegas would offer for Hanifin. 1st is intriguing. Roy would be nice. Cotter might be nice. Hogue might be okay (bog dude). I can see him wanting to re-sign in Vegas. They roll out the carpet for traded for players.
  6. JG signed for $9.75M which is only about $750k below what he supposedly left on the table. The owners were ticked he didn't sign and (they felt) strung us along. We got nothing for him, but that was the risk we took. Not sure how this is even the same, assuming there is any truth to the leak. I am resigned to the fact that he will be traded. I will just be annoyed if he goes to the team he leaked he wanted to go to, for a lesser than par value for the player.
  7. Henrique is a fine addition, if you like the hockey version of a MILF. AH is a LHS C. He would displace who? Janmark on L2 RW? SC would replace who? Holloway on L4 C? Sound eerily similar to last year TDL. Bjugstad for a 3rd.
  8. I don't verify rumours other than looking at the source twitter and seeing if they have ever done anything that suggest they know anything. The problem is when there is a lack of anything credible from usual sources. Leslie suggested they might circle back. Another guys says they have an contract offer in their back pocker because they don't like the offers so far. I don't see how that would benefit the Flames to leak it. If he hasn't signed he ain't signing. There is nothing out there remotely credible. Wennberg traded. Byram traded. Walker traded. Tank traded. Those are at least real.
  9. If EDM had waited until tomorrow, they could have gotten RJ for cheap. Once he cleared waivers that is. Would only need to pay for the salary retention.
  10. It's the type they do every year, except it's a 1st this year. I like Henrique, but not at that cost.
  11. Oilers pick up Henrique (34 year old) + Carrick (32 year old) and a 7th for the bargain price of 2024 1st, 2024 4th and 2025 5th (conditional to 4th if they win the cup). Retained salary 75% on Henrique.
  12. Newest rumour (from a guy with 3500 followers) is that the Flames have a contract offer to Hanifin in the upper $8M range in case they don't like the offers for him. Like What the AF? Won't sign long term at mid 7's. Messes with trades to teams not on his 8 team list. Craters his own trade value and we are wanting to pay him more? Get creative before you even think about signing him at almost Nurse money.
  13. I think they were considered a dark horse, but that was for Markstrom? If it's LA, then it's likely Turcotte + 1st for Hanifin. I would be okay with that. Not a top guy coming but not garbage either. I doubt Moveare makes it to us. Same with JAD.
  14. Last minute, anything is possible. AVS trade 1st + RJ + Byram for Walker and Mittlestadt.
  15. I would consider both of them actually. At the very least we should be waiving Oesterle or Gilbert and make a roster move (on paper) if required to claim either. I get the sense we won't get Hanifin traded until the last minute. Is LA making a move for someone not being mentioned? I don't know why they decided to do it today, unless they are completing a trade very soon.
  16. If Lindholm is traded, what happens to the conditional 3rd? Those conditions exist only while playing in VAN. VAN makes the 3rd round. Lindholm plays 50% of the games in the playoffs. I don't think they could substitute them on a new team if he is traded.
  17. Huberdeau-Sharangovich-Coronato Pelletier-Kadri-Kuzmenko Hunt on 4th w Duehr and Rooney Backlund line remains together Read this, so It's not my suggestion. I think it's the only way right now. Coronato's game is not yet 200 feet. Play him where he will get O-zone starts. Pelletier there was a bit of a stretch. Kuz playing with Kadri and Pelletier makes some sense. Kadri will feed him or shoot himself.
  18. That is so true. Why should he have any say now, past the 8 team list?
  19. Francis suggesting that Hanifin has the right to go to wherever he wants. Why should he have to play somewhere he won't sign? It's his one chance. Shut it EF. He has a 8 team list, not a full NMC or NTC.
  20. Desired return vs actual offer. Considering the remaining assets that FLA has, I don't know there is much else. Unless they have top prospects as part of the return. I'm not seeing anything remarkable in their signed prospects. 5'9" LW in the WHL? We didn't like Stankoven, so why would we ever want a smaller player. And another LW.
  21. Would a retained salary at 50% going be enough? I suspect they would get retained salary on Tarasenko. Deadline cap space suggests they have over 5M before the trades. So, Lundell + Mikkola for Hanifin at 50% would amount to no cap impact, so would not be impacted by Tarasenko.
  22. I think the knock on his value is that he doesn't really do anything really well. Not great on the PP. Not a clutch scorer. Not a PK stalwart. Hronek got a 1st and 2nd last year. Klingberg (at 50%) got a plug, a good young prospect and a 4th for retaining salary. Greenway netted a 2nd and a 5th. Chychrun was about the best return with a 1st a 2n and a 6th. COnditions on those of course.
  23. I know he wasn't driving the play, but he should have been excellent playing with really good players. It's weird that he's been playing better with Sharky at C. Line still a bit of a mish mash on RW. Need a hard driving RW. I would almost suggest Pospisil, if he wasn't suspended. Kuzmenko is a good sniper, but that line already has issues away from the puck. I think VAN made the mistake thinking he would be great at C. I would have tried him with Pettersen at C. Play him RW. But it doesn't matter. They likely won't want to re-sign him. Too much for a guy not fitting in.
  24. I think we are jumpring the gun a bot on a few things. 32 teams out there and saying 4 CDN teams are on his 8 team list seems unlikely. There are some teams I doubt any player would keep off the list; ARI, SJS, ANA, BUFF, WAS... Secondly, if the FLA teams are both interested, then they will bid against each other. FLA can offer a young C for Hanifin and probably win the trade. Maybe they throw in Mikkola just to seal the deal and make the money work a bit next season. Trading out Mikkola for Hanifin is a smart move, just gives you another top 4 D to work with. No, Hanifin is not a game breaker, but some teams see his scoring at timely moments as a great thing. Let's just get it done and move on. Bad timing that we let it go to the point of fkying to two cities that may be trading partners. Easy for him, but I don't want him to play another game.
