FLA is going to have a tough time getting out of the EAST.

Everyone's going to have a tough time getting out of everywhere.

What is Tampa doing? The Cats just owned them in 2 straight and sat Bennett and Huberdeau tonight, you know, the psychology game of you sit players to rest like Tampa's doing and losing.

Can't wait to see Tampa flip a switch.

    This I gotta see.

    Bring Stamkos, Kucherov, Hedman.

    You're gonna need them.

    Florida's deep and fast.

    Y'all  better watchout.lol

  2. The Panthers are basically a skate skate skate first team. The Flames rarely have been. Over-simplified, but likely the biggest difference for Bennett. Great skater when he's allowed, and the whole team is always skating hard.

  3. There's a lot of good story lines, the key one for me is Bobrovsky vs Vasilevsky, yikes! Tampa tried to bring some toughness last night but Florida always answered it.

It'll be fun to watch Quenneville adjust things. He was using Bennett at RW with Barkov and Huberdeau effectively last night. With Verhaeghe and Hornqvist hopefully good to go, Duclair, Tippett, Vatrano and Acciari, he's got a great balance of players to move around as needed.

My friends are laughing at me that they won't get past Tampa, but I think they can. I can't see how it's a mismatch, at least. I'd rather Tampa first rather than the Canes.

Gonna be tough with the cap dodging lightning in the way. Oh gee, Kucherov and Stamkos are gonna be healthy for game one of the playoffs? How lucky for them!

Agreed, should be good hockey! Then the winner gets the Canes.😬

Love that the Rangers called both Tom Wilson and the DPOS out on this one

Wow. Calling for Parros' head. Love it.

8 yrs, 7 suspensions. Horrifying that this was met with a fine. Bye NHL, bush league dumpster. Everyone, free headshots and slapshots at Tom Wilson.

Make this right. End his career.

  6. I'd like to see Parros release a statement to the effect of:

"I'm not showing the video. The National Hockey League is done with warnings and suspensions to Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson.

The Washington Capital's Tom Wilson continues his choice of blatant disregard and disrespect for the National Hockey League's Player Safety mandates and fellow-professionals alike.

Tom Wilson, of the Washington Capitals, is hereby suspended, immediately and indefinitely, from the National Hockey League.

Pending review, and we'll update you when reviews have been completed". Just say that.

He literally looked to his left and saw that it was Panarin and decided of the 3 guys likely yelling, "Blockchaining calm down", he grabbed Panarin, scrubbed his helmet off and body slammed him, kept throwing, then tried to slam him again. Panarin. You've got to be kidding me. Look at Buchnevich trying to tell him in the box, I'm guessing," your stick was across my throat and I hit the ice face first, then you punch me and try to slam me again"?

Either get this guy out of the league, or I'll just watch jr B again.

  7. I'm turning this into a Panthers thread. lol

When the Flames and Wings are your favourite teams, you find another team to latch onto while you're waiting.

Streaming their feeds for the last few years has me addicted. Hated the Trochek trade, cuz I love Trochek (Bennett isn't Trochek), but I get it's a numbers game with Barkov, Huberdeau and Ekblad.

I like the Canes too, but damn, I wish us or Detroit were in on Trochek for cheap! Always liked him in jr.

When you're on the Florida feed, they interview a lot of players post-game. From Barkov to Lomberg.

Barkov is likely my fave in the NHL right now. Got the C at a young age, wears it very well.

Every question he answers he deflects from because he's really good to saying it's because his teammates are exceptional.

He's a great leader. None of it is about him, it's all about the team. He's very modest, considering if anyone feels like arguing with me that he's the best 2-way center in the league.

The Canes have had their number, typically up 2 heading to the 3rd. They're right their on the verge of ending that. Their O attack when they need a goal is relentless.

So again, watch Florida games. Quenneville is a genius, they're superfun to watch if you like fast hockey.

They're especially where the Flames and Wings need to get.

    Watch and learn.

I want them to win the cup this year. They're going to be a handful. Tons of speed. Owen Tippet's moving up, he's like Duclair, good size and speed on the wing, more skill.

They are definitely on the verge. I was happy they took Bennett. And Montour. I assumed both would do well as puzzle pieces.

Watch out for them. They have all of the ingredients for a watch and learn session.

Tampa doesn't own them and the Canes are bending under the pressure.

  8. I've never been extremely hard on Wilson. I like a big physical winger but some of his hitting is highly suspect.

But this is a whole other level of having a huge man raging on the ice.

He's been suspended so many times now and obviously isn't getting the message.

Imho, it's time to ban him. This is pure rage. Amazingly he wasn't ejected, and watch his antics from the box.

He's actually proud of himself for beating on 2 skill guys that have never fought.

Sorry Tom, I never want to see you back in this league.

Thanks for showing us that it's not your size that intimidates opponents, it's your rage.

He's learned nothing, and he will end someone's career if he isn't just outright banned.

This is a Blockchaining disgusting display of zero regard for player safety.

Just a quick question, but who was Fla second line centre before Bennett got there?

Mainly Alex Wennberg, occasionally Noel Acciari.

I'd have loved to have been a fly on the wall between Zito and Treliving.

I don't rain fire and brimstone on the Flames for this move.

It clearly wasn't working. Treliving gave him a great spot with an org that I believe clearly wanted Bennett badly.

This was excellent TDL mgmt for Florida imho. Don't over-spend, get pieces you're missing.

Both Bennett and Montour were excellent adds. It bolsters their already dangerous lineup with the right kinds of pieces.

Again, Treliving did excellent by BOTH the player and the org.

That had to have been the easiest, "I've traded you" exit interview he's ever had.

"I've talked to Bill, and they're really excited about getting you".

All a player needs to hear, and he's surrounded by great players.

Watch Florida games. Bennett looks great. He's such a great skater.

2 games ago vs Chicago, he was hashmarks to the net with the 2 dmen literally draping him on each side. Remarkably, he made it look like a breakaway. If he'd have scored, you would never see the end of that clip. He's doing well, mainly, because he's such a great skater and he's been great on reads, on both D & O.

Just watch their games, tell me if I'm wrong.

He's exactly what the Panthers needed, a 200' game center with a physical game for all situations.

Boy, he might carve out a Ryan O'Reilly and emerge as the Panther's #1 Center.

    He's clearly not Barkov😂

But he plays all situations, breaks up plays, wins battles, drives the net well.

    He's playing a well-rounded 200' game.

That is fair I think. To me the "plan" is get in the playoffs every year because if we don't get in we don't have a shot.

Debatable how much of a plan that is and very wide open to criticism if that is the correct plan or not.

I feel like the Flames are always standing still. Do they not scout the Duclair's, Hinostroza's etc? Guys that are fading into obscurity but young. Not moving the needle huge, but in the right direction potentially.

We seem like a team afraid to make anything more than low level moves. Get Hamilton, trade Hamilton, get Hamonic, get Neal...one big move a year and done.

Like one will do. Then soft moves.

Detroit's my other team. They'll be better than the Flames imho, within 2 years.

I'll be cheering Fla. Was a fan pre-Bennett.

Compare them to the Flames. They're the 180, constantly making moves and taking risks. Good moves, bad moves, but always moving.

They have an explosive team, names don't matter. They run a wonderland of players needing real chances under exceptional coaching. Lomberg, for example.

Flames management and scouting seems like either stuck in the mud or there's a significant disconnect.

Many have said it's ownership, I have no idea.

But Treliving is paralyzed to being active when he should be, for whatever reason.

Maybe I'm talking out my posterior, but the org. seems very rigid and either unwilling or incapable of being progressive.

As of right now, this is a very dark future, imho.

Why don't you and Peeps apply as consultants? lol

    Move the needle!

  12. An assist on Duclair's opener. Cleared the zone on the PK to Duclair outta the box and Duclair went ham and cheese.

I was watching Fla pre-Bennett, just continuing to do so, good hockey.

Not much point wondering what went wrong here. Florida has a lot of good players. Lomberg's full time 4th line too.

Should discuss why he was let go, perfect 4 line team guy.
