GDT - Canucks @ FLAMES - Thursday 16 November 2023 - 7PM MDT

Nice win, easily Lindholm's and Huberdeau's best games this season. All around good performance from the team.

Whether that is a turn in their games or the result of a tired Canucks team remains to be seen.

At least the win gets me in a tiny bit better mood for work:)

Alright guys wish you a good night, almost time to get ready for work.

Good game for Calgary taking advantage of a tired Canucks team.

Thought most of the players looked really engaged.

Liked what I saw from Huberdeau and that line as a whole. They were pretty much dominated 5v5 vs MTL so big bounce back for that trio.

I really didn't like what I saw from all 4 officials tonight. From tossing a player on nearly every face-off, to giving Pospisil a roughing minor after Hronek was the only one dropping the mitts, then Greer gets the only minor on a nearly identical play late.

Didn't change the outcome buts its really bothersome to watch.

GFG!!!

Feel free to trash players in game.  It's a motivator for them.

Huska tells them what Conumdrumed said in the chat.

Looks like the Flames are back in playoff contention.

2 back of SEA with 2 less games played.

4 back of a WC spot with equal games played.

Not an insurmountable hill to climb.

But, we have a long way to get to a playoff pace.

Something like .610 win percent the rest of the way to get to 95 points.

As we saw last year, that playoff points number can get dragged down by teams limping in.

Anyway, time to trumpet what we did.

We had an early hole.

We put the other team on their heels and got back in.

We didn't let down.

The two guys struggling the most had good games.

We beat a top placed team, no matter what their excuses are.

Easily their best game of the season.

Canucks were likely tired for sure but that 2nd period was something else from the Flames. A lot of speed on their pucks/passes in the o zone. They had the Canucks standing for most of the night.

Impressive stuff

As Huska put it, it's nice to see the big guys (like Huberdeau) have a good game, but they need to do that consistently.  One game is not enough.  Use it as a springboard since you had some confidence.
