The only thing positive is the top prospect/player.

That seems to be well below value compared to the ask and the other suggestions.

Even if it included Terry, Drysdale and the 1st, what is the premium for same division?

A 2nd?

Anaheim didn't want Bennet, wouldn't trade us a decent goalie (chose Toronto).

Sorry, but they have to pay big time.

IMO Drysdale is better than any other player or prospect mentioned so far.

IMO Drysdale is the type of defenseman you build around.

The complete tweet was that this kid got his first jersey during the playoffs.

Between Tkachuk and Johnny, these were two of the most enjoyed players on the team.

Easily the most common jerseys in the stands.

My son is in his 40's.  He's a big STL fan.

Went to a couple of games with him and his Tarasenko Blues jersey.

If we end up trading with STL, he will be very confused.

My Buddy will be happy .. die hard oilers fan since he was a kid.. lives in Edmonton, but had to put up with his kid being a Flames fan because Tkachuk is his favorite player .

He suffered a pretty serious concussion in his rookie year and would be my only reserve on getting him.

I'm not saying he's crap at all.

What I am saying is where is the other pieces?

If Drysdale is your top player (a Defense not a forward we also need), where is the top prospect?

A 2018 drafted guy?

Where is the same division premium?

I also feel we should be after D.   I'm not actually the world's greatest Drysdale fan so this is complicated for me, but yeah we should really be after D.

Why does Tara keep appearing as a cap dump? Am I missing something?

$7.5mil for 34/48/82pts in 75 games. That's not a cap dump, that's a bargain. Yet pretend Monahan isn't a cap dump?

I think we're setting ourselves up to be disappointed on the return. Not often a player wanting to leave is a favourable situation on return.

Tara is a cap Dump if you wanna sign Tachuck's especially form teams

like Stl hard on the cap…

agreed he’s not unreasonably paid for his production but say you add a player like a Tachuck at probably 9.5 you need to shed $$ and that’s the 1 and done way for Stl to do that

Yeah, but there are lots of teams that will give STL premium assets for Tarasenko, and not just view him as a cap dump.

I would agree that there are teams that would give up assets to get him.

But his full NTC and the list of teams that can take on a salary like that without sending back similar is very short.

He's more likely to be dealt at the TDL if they are out of contention and haven't re-signed him.

SLT is more likely to trade Krug or Scandella.

I'm feeling that whoever takes Tkachuk will have to work out their issues themselves.

We actually have cap to take on a cap dump, but it would cost a pretty penny with Tkachuk going there.

Cheaper to dump a player elsewhere.

So, my question is about the arbitration offer.

Is it true that if he goes into the hearing, and is awarded an offer that we can't trade him until the year is done?

I hope this is not the case, because there is no turning back.

that is my understanding as well.. he cannot be traded after that .. so theres no way its getting there

I had believed that the date would not even get close.

One would think, if it came down to it that they would agree the only way it can work is a deal they both sign.  Even if it's a one year deal, it's better for both sides.  Sure, he can choose a team next summer, but I would think he wants to get this out of the way.  Hamstringing the Flames means he is stuck here.

Mmm ok I’m gonna throw this out there for all…

first, would everyone prefer if Tachuck ended up changing his mind and signs a long term deal or trade him regardless now? If trade why, besides his sky high value…

secondly, who out there in the NHL would be a comparable player to Tachuck? Keeping in mind not only stats, but also age etc…?

Im interested in these answers for a reason…

Granted, except Tara has the added advantage of not just being a cap dump but a “sweetener” To land Tachuck…keep in mind this situation is a Sweepstakes to the highest bidder and there are at least 5 teams that can make offers with the confidence knowing he will sign long term..but door is open to others as per from Tachuck himself…bids and the end results l are gonna be higher than what some are preposing

I still think it’s gonna be either Stl with

Tara

Thomas

Neigbours

1st

2nd

for

tachuck

Monahan

+ minor offset with up side like Dube

OR

Anh

drysdale

lumdstrum

1st

2nd

for

Tachuck

If it's prospects, I love the fit with Dallas

Johnston- 124pts in 68 games. 41pts in 25 playoff games. Arguably, a top 5 prospect in the entire league

Bourque- 68 pts in 31 games. 25pts in 16 playoff games

Stankoven- 104pts in 59 games. 31 pts in 17 playoff games.

All RHS

I also really like the fit with NJ too. I'd really want Mercer or Holtz.
