conundrumed
Also awaiting the Wings inking Carter Mazur and Shai Bulum after Denver was dispatched yesterday. Both would be jrs next year like Coronato.
travel_dude
The chances of signing him this weekend are pretty high. Not sure what his education status is, whether he's completed the year yet or not, or whether he has some scolarship requirements remaining. Regardless, what would be the plan? Insert him in the lineup, while sitting out two other young players? Start the kid line of Pelletier-Ruzicka-Coronato? Other than the money, it would be frustrating to move to a city to just practice for the remaining time. I just don't see Sutter using him with any trust. Hasn't watched him live before. No training camp views.
conundrumed
Coronato's teammate Henry Thrun (2019 Anaheim 4th rd) has signed and ELC with SJS.
jjgallow
I'm aweful with contracts and at this point I think it's a lifelong affliction. Someone please tell me that signing him means he can go to the AHL. From a hockey standpoint that reality is that he is nowhere near NHL ready. He would be eaten alive. That's not even factoring in Sutter or the Flames right now. And don't worry guys, he's not going to read this. Nobody his age is going to find this forum in its current state of broken links lol, this is our own private forum now. I want him to sign but the NHL would be a disaster for him. conundrumed
Yes he can go to the A. It's already happening with other collegiate level players and soon with jrs as their season's close out.

While technically true, it depends. it he signs his ELC for this seasons he’s only eligible to play in the NHL. it he signs for next year he can sign an AHL tryout agreement for the rest of the year. I’m pretty sure he has to pick. Can’t do both

The team needs to focus on the playoff prep. The other option is to just sign for next year and get ready for it. TBH, I have no idea of his NHL readiness. A limited start in a NHL game might have some merit. Helps him see the speed. If he's okay, play him a bit longer or start him in the next game. He signed his deal and it starts immediately. so this year counts regardless of whether or not he plays a game. As I mentioned above this make him ineligible for the AHL this season.
