Most of prospect players look great Brodi, Sven, Reinhart and Hano I hope we get some players with depth for next season to balance it off and decent goalie to replace kipper; we can be on the way for good rebuild. I think a lineup looking like this for next year would be great: Cammy - Mackinnon - Stemps Baer - Backs - Horak GlenX - Reinhart - Hudler McGrats - Bouma - Hanowski Or something along those lines. Although that does leave out: Stajan: I don't know what to do about Stajan... he has been really good for us this year. Definitley had a bounce back year. Only question is, do we have room for him in our lineup with all the young guys here? Reinhart has been playing fantastic and is almost stealing his spot at 3rd line center IMO. Cervenka: I don't know what to do about Cervenka... he has shown some good things, and some bad. Hard to judge in a shortened season with a new coach and such. I wouldn't be opposed to giving him another chance once he has had the summer to train, learn more english, etc... Tanguay: Depending on the extent of Tangs injury, we could trade him or buy him out. Wouldn't mind seeing him leave... I love his hands and playmaking ability, but he is way too inconsistent. Doesn't show up some shifts or some games. Jackman: Is signed for another year. Wouldn't mind seeing him traded on draft day for a late pick if possible in order to make room for new guys. Begin: Is a FA after this year. His skating is pretty god awful. I really hope the Flames organization didn't overlook this. Its quite obvious that the reason he broke all those high school records is cause he was bigger than everyone else - I remember the same thing in my highschool sports. For the most part, the bigger kids dominated. His size is a plus. His board play and puck protection is a plus. His willingness to go to the front of the net and the dirty areas is a plus. Has he been able to work on his skating with some of the best trainers in the world? Its possible that he is able to turn it around with the right training. He won't ever be the best skater, but hopefully he can improve it to a place where he can become a regular NHLer. He is a B to C level prospect with limited pro experience. Depends on what level you want his skating to get too. I don't think you can ever get it to a point where it's a strength but I think it could be improved enough to make him an effective 3rd/4th liner once he gets an NHL strength and conditioning program going it can have a pretty big impact on his skating. Ryan Wilson, of the Avs, was one of the worst skating dmen i've ever seen at his first pro camp but if you watch him know he's a competent NHL skater. Secondly, I think Cammalleri wil be the first player asking to be traded. Tanguay and Stajan should be dealt with either by trade or bought out, the team needs their positions freed up. Cervenka I would keep but a player I would move would be Horak, we need to add some size in this process. Should Hanowski make the team I don't think you waste this kid on the 4th line. Jackman and Begin can go but I would resign McGrattan. I see these guys as keepers and the need to fill some holes with trades or FA. This offseason the flavour is going to be all about toughness and sandpaper, we all seen how easy it was to push the flames around and that doesn't seem to be lost on the brass.
