  1. Olivier Roy was just recalled from the Aces to Abbotsford. Anyone know what this is indicative of? Is one of Ortio/Macdonald hurt or might a trade involving one of our goaltenders be looming? I can't see Ortio being assigned to Alaska as he has been playing so well.
  2. This reply was just absolutely all over the place. Don't even know where to start to formulate a response, so I'm not gonna waste my time. QFT^^ Completely agree. And this is what I was trying to get it. Its way too early to be judging Ramos play, especially with our suspect D coverage, terrible PK, amount of penalties taken, etc... In my opinion he has done well with the defence that he has had in front of him. I think that if he can keep improving then we may have a reliable goalie to use as a stop-gap until one of our prospects emerges as a true star/starter. Agreed again.
  3. Those 52 NHL games are absolutely irrelevant IMO. Took place WAY too long ago, isn't even a factor imo. You say that you want to see consistency from him over 5 or 6 games in a row, but there is no evidence of that. Um, yah... thats probably because he has only played 3 games? And only 2 in a row. Give him a chance to show some consistency before you jump all over him, my god. I don't know what games you guys have been watching, but Ramo has been hung out to dry on most of the goals he has let in. Of course there are a couple of exceptions. But that isn't even to mention the atrocious PK we have and the riduclous amount of penalties we have been taking. His EV SV% is respectable. That gives me reason to believe that he has the ability to be a respectable goalie, and show consistency if given a chance. Disagree if you want, but I know you've had it out for him before he even played a game with the Flames, so I'll respectfully ignore your opinion until I see him play more.
  4. Way too small of sample size to be making conclusions like that. In my opinion Ramo has been good. Not great, but solid. There is only so much he can do, especially when our defence and defensive structure has just been in shambles of late. How many breakaways has he stopped? What do you expect him to do when an open man is left open right in front of the net, like the first goal last night, or the Burns goal in san jose, etc... Sending a goalie down after he has played THREE games with absolutely sh*t defences is ridiculous. Give him half the season before you even BEGIN to think of that.
  5. I agree... No clue why he is stating this as a fact. In my opinion it looks like they have Ramo slated to be the starter and that its up to Berra to oust Macdonald from the backup seat.
  6. Thats all I ask! Hahah. Gratts is excellent.
  7. I doubt that many of those make it to free agency tbh. But i get your point... if the "foreign" goalie route doesn't work out, then we do have options... especially with all the cap space we have now. I just don't want Feaster going and pulling a philly with bryzgalov...
  8. You don't know that it was "his baby". Purely conjecture. Im sure Feaster asked him about Berra, as Hartley would have some knowledge on the topic, but there is NO way that we would trade for him if our scouts didn't feel strongly about him - which they do. Now, I agree. I personally have not liked the trades the flames have swung lately, or for a while. All im saying is that you shouldn't discount a guy without even seeing him play. Gotta give the guy a chance to prove his worth (in my opinion at least). Well... obviously they are being underutilized... Didn't you see that goal last night?
  9. Exactly. I don't think our scouts would have screwed up that bad... Feaster said that half of them liked Berra and the other half liked Ramo. Also, in another thread a person who follows the team that Berra plays for commented saying we are getting a really good goalie in him, and that his stats are misleading as he has been the best player on the team by far and the ONLY reason that the team was ever able to make the playoffs. Don't be so quick to shi*t on a guy just from his stats, especially a goaltender. Example? Reinhart. He was a MINUS 26 with the heat this season, yet he has not looked out of place here and I have actually really liked what he has done, and he isn't even a goalie
  10. I would like to see the following occur. Kipper: I expect kipp will be traded today. Its best for the organization and him in that I hope he is able to win a cup, him and Iggy have been the two symbols of this team and have carried it on their back for the last decade. They both deserve a chance at one. (Although I doubt TO will give him much of a shot ) Irving: I like Irving, and feel bad for the kid cause he seems like such a nice guy... but he hasn't really cut it for us. Let him go. Brust: We have too many goalie prospects, we need to move some that don't factor into our future plans out and make room on the farm. Gillies & Ortio: I've been impressed with both of their progression this year. I think they both need more time though, so best to just leave them where they are. Berra, Ramo & MacD: As was stated, Berra has reportedly been signed to a contract. I expect Ramo will as well, and I'd assume that we will extend MacD. He has been good enough this season. Best to sign him to an extension as he has earned it. I would let these three battle it out for the 2 spots on the team. Whoever is the odd man out should be sent down to abbie. Taylor & Brossoit: I'd expect that this is who we will see in abbotsford next year, in addition to the goalie who is the odd man out from the three above. Would operate alot like last year when we were running with 3 goalies. If the two in CGY don't perform, it leaves opportunity to call one of these three (taylor, brossoit, odd man out) a chance with the big club.
