  1. Classy tribute for a class act 🔥🍻🔥
  2. Truth is, the flames are drafting better now than they have in the last 2 1/2 decades, its hard to be to critical of Tre when every GM before him has elbowing the bed when its there turn to stand at the podium
  3. And this is why I hope we afford Bennett the patients to develop and find his game. All the tools are their for him to reach his potential and this team has another couple years before the core reaches its prime years. Maybe he's not a true #1or 2 right now but given the time I see no reason why he cant be in the future. Janko reminds me allot of Kyle Turris, they play a similar type game and like Turris its going to take time for him to grow into what ever role the brass see fit for him. but tell me you wouldn't want Kyle as our 3rd - 4th line pivot? Mark has shown an ability to raise his game to another level every time he has graduated to a higher league, while being counted on as a go to guy, fact is every coach he has had since being drafted has shown that they trust him and his game. He may not be ready by for the Flames by next training camp, but I would figure he works himself into the first call up possibility soon after.
  4. With the amount of movement expected this offseason in regaurds to goalies, I think wr can get Elliot locked up to a very reasonable contract. His awful statt to the season could be a blessing in disguise, keeping his cap hit under the $4mill mark
  5. Fox is a ways a way but I think Hickey maybe the closest prospect we have to making a jump onto the big team. Scouts have been raving about how far along his defensive game as come and he has been putting the work in, in the gym. I would'nt be suprised to see him here at the end of the season with the black aces.
  6. 2 post season apperances (hopefully) in 3 years? Give the man a 3-5 year contract and let him build a perennial contender...
  7. Id be open to breaking up this tandem if you could pry a guy like Scott Darling out of Chicago. Someone who has proven they could carry a backup role and is chomping at the bit to take over the starter job. But I have zero interest in a MAF/BenB type that is already demanding salary and term. This team needs a competent 2-3 year stop gap and thats exactly what I see Elliot as...
  8. Oh snap, thats right... I forgot they signed him for draft purposes. So much has happened in such a short time.
  9. No offense, but I completely disagree with that assessment, this team needed time to bring it together and get on the same page, now that the coaches, players and goalies have some familiarity the team looks to be turning a corner. Elliot left a good situation in St Louis that has been under the structure of a hall of fame coach for years and walked into a rebuilding team, playing a new style for a new coach. If Elliot and Johnson get us into the playoffs, I think they deserve the oppertunity to come back next season and show what they can do, infront of a team that should be a little more polished than they were at the start of this year. You cant just run goalies through a revolving door until one has a Veizna like season, these guys need time to learn how to win together, as a team.
  10. I like what Ive seen from both defenders, they are a serious upgrade over the old man and fringe talent waiting on the farm. Id be ok with bringing both back into the fold if we paid based on where they slot in over the next two seasons. Stone $3.25 for 3 years And Bart id give league minimum, 1-2 year to play bottom pairing mins. Anything more and I would pass. We have 3 Dmen in the AHL and NCAA who have an opportunity to make the jump into a top 4 roll over the next two years and I would hate to over pay for a couple of ok insurance policies.
  11. If the Flames make the playoffs then I resign bith Elliot and Johnson in the offseason... Elliot $3.5-$4.25 for 3 years Johnson $1.5-$2 for one year I'm very comfortable with this tandem and what Ive seen frim them this year. Big picture, this was a tram that came out flat to start the season and has taken allot of strides, learning how to win together and I belive keeping Chad and Brian in the fold will pay dividends in the near future. This team is on the cusp of turning the corner and will be scary good, just wait and see!
  12. I think expectations were unrealistic given he came from the same draft as Monny, I think Klimmer will need a couple years to ripen and can see him being a Setmpniak type player once ready...
  13. I listened to Johnny's interview on Philly radio and what I seen was a kid trying to say all the right things to not alienate a fan base after he was put on the spot. I have seen no inclination that he doesn't want to play in Calgary.Everyone keeps harping that BT should have paid Big and Local what that aves did to stay but listening to an interview with him earlier in the summer, he was pretty open about the fact that there are added pressures and distractions that come along with playing in front of your home crowd. Stamkos could have "bolted" to the leafs and we all seen how that turned out.
  14. I think people are to quick to try and move these contracts. Let them pylons walk next July and then we can take care of the in house business and add another key cog or two. This isn't the summer to do that and I believe our opening night roster is already in the organization. On one hand it would be nice to move a Smid or Wideman but in the same breath it doesn't hurt to let the pups in Stockton marinate for another season and see if a guy like Poirier or Culkin can have bounce back years.
  15. Whoa, chill out guys... It's ok, I know how the lines are going to be set come season opener. Here you go and your welcome. JG/Mony/Brouwer Shins/Backs/Froly Tkachuk/SB/Poirier Ferly/Janko/Prybil Oops, sorry... My Crystal ball showed me 2017-18 season opener. So, just like the rest of you, all I can do is speculate.
  16. Is it time to drop the puck yet? Im so done with summer... Hockey is my favorite season!

  17. Last offseason he added some decent depth contracts and turned out big because of injuries although I still think he over payed, but given our position at the end of that season he had to pay a little bit more to lure anyone here. So far this offseason I would say Brad has done a tremendous job and used our playoff run as a position of strength to add some very solid and key pieces to ensure we stay competitive in the upcoming season. Dougies contract is a beauty and its safe to say less then most everyone thought it would take to get him locked up. Backs contract is also great value, Im glad to see him walk away with a few more years in flames silks. All in all I dont know how anyone could disagree with what management has done, the future looks promising!
  18. I think 3 years at 5 mill is a reasonable expectation. For the first time in a long time the Flames are in a position of strength when it comes to contract negotiations. Calgary is once again a desirable destination. A guy like Hudler who has found himself a big role on a team thats trending up may not want to mix things up much at this point in his career and hes gonna be hard pressed to find a better situation. Id be surprised if he demanded top dollar's from the flames at this point in his career.
  19. I haven't seen enough of Brad yet to give him any kind of grade, I want to see him in an impact trade or signing first. He really has yet to do anything that involves our top 6 and has really only brought in depth players. I do appreciate his patience and reluctance to sign long term deals but I am starting to worry he maybe a little trigger shy? With the way this season has gone it will be interesting to see which direction he goes with free agents. Does he continue to look for truculence or add some high skill players to the mix? As of right now I don't really see Brads stamp on the flames and am unclear in how he tends to try and mold them going forward.,
  20. Its one thing for reporters to overlook us but 29 other teams won't, they have scouting reports for a reason and word gets around who's doing what. Let the media say what they want, if this was the Leafs they would've planning the parade right now.
  21. I say this dcore has earned the right to show us what they can sustain over the season, right now we have the highest producing top 4 in the league, not bad for a group that was written off before the season even started.
  22. So my beautiful girl freind is running a 10k today in the name of cancer awerness at the underware affair that kicks off at 6pm at the calgary curling club, her grandmother, mother and herself are all survivors and this is a cause we hold very dear to our hearts. So come on down and cheer these crazy people on...

Good for her. It's a great way to show her solidarity with her fellow survivors & show all those in cancer care & those recently diagnosed that they value the care & show the new 1s that there is a great life still achievable. Total respect.

Out here in the 'Peg we had a walk that raised a million & the traditional dragon boat thing. Cancer has touched all our lives.

The crazy thing is that she did it with a weeks notice, and managed to raise $1400... were training together for the next one in August, but I need more then a week to get me ready lol.

It was really inspiring to see all those people come together like that for a single cause.
