    If possible I would move both Neal and Frolik, why not if there are deals to be had ? If we can redeploy those funds into younger, faster talent I would do it now.

    At first glance we have a lot of needs in the minors coming into next season. This is why if I were BT I wouldn't be so concerned about trading the players no longer desired for draft picks only. Depending on the changes being contemplated for the 2019-20 team I would strongly consider some available UFAs to restructure some of our lines and pairings. As an example if we could get Mrazek G, Dzingel LW, Connelly RW and Duchene C from UFA BT could use Brodie, Stone, Frolik, Neal, Jankowski, Mangiapane and Czarnick to garner as many picks as possible for this draft, maybe even some for the next year draft.

    I think the coaching staff did a great job scheduling and nurturing Smith back to top performance level. Win or lose with him now is how I see it. It will be the other parts of our game that must determine where we go from here.

    I think the key to beating COL will be on Backlund and Frolik to shutdown McKinnon's line. I don't think we have a Goalie edge right now so error on the side of experience and start with Smith is my thinking.

    What have the games been like vs COL, who played against them the most and results ? Given the last few games Peters could flip a coin.

    Nobody really wants to play in Carolina or Columbus do they ? Players that reach UFA are crazy not to hear out other teams and CALGARY represents a very good chance to win a SC over the next 3 seasons. I would have no problem signing Mrazek on a 3 year deal now knowing what we have in Rittich at this level.

    Sure it can, anything can happen both ways however fighting trough some adversity can make some people better. Pro athletes like to be challenged or at least they should or they shouldn't be where they are. Two Czech goalies feeding of each other could be a good situation to have on the team, comradery and competition. Smith will be done and I don't see much else out there. Gilles hasn't exactly jumped out at the opportunity, Parsons isn't ready yet. I think we need Mrazek to a certain degree if BT can snag him on a good deal.

    I look around and don't see that top goalie coming in a trade. Is there someone you think would be available ?

    You worry and over think most everything. Yes he had some rough season but sometimes a wake up call is all a person needs to get back in the game. He has looked very good with CAR so I wouldn't be afraid to bring him in to go along with Rittich.

    Brodie would be 1st on my list to deal but I doubt we get a 1st round pick maybe 2-2nds.

    The key to Stone is health. If healthy he will be tradeable. The main decisions will surround Neal, Frolik, Bennett, Jankowski and Brodie IMO. They could also move on from Ryan, Mangiapane and Czarnik. I'm not saying they will but a mix of considerations will be taken into account. Depends on how crazy BT wants to be.

    I prefer going with the experience factor at least to start the playoffs so its Smith for me. Both goalies are playing well enough to start and like the team I have every confidence in Rittich to step in a play well should Smith not play well.

    I tend to agree with using Valimaki and have Fantenberg back him up, it's why we got him. He has proven reliable in that capacity. I'm torn on the use of Brodie and Andersson. Given what has transpired over the course of the season I would like to see these pairings. Giordano, Andersson Hanifin, Hamonic Valimaki, Brodie This has a veteran with each of the younger defensemen and a good mix of there talents.

    They do find ways to win and I do agree we have a group that plays for each other and that is very important. They need to clean up some areas of their game but who's not ready for the playoffs ? I know I am.

    LOL I think we all know your preference for Goalie. LOL Our defense and I mean all of them have been playing real sloppy/risky hockey. This needs to improve. PP as not been good and this drop back pass stuff will get killed in the playoffs, we need a way better forechecking game. I think BP needs to tell both Goalies to tone down the wandering to play the puck, its why we have defensemen.

    I'm more concerned about our breakouts and lack of any consistency for a PP. All these lackadaisical passes that creates our own havoc has to stop. Teams are going to bottle u the middle zone on us in the playoffs because it gives us our most trouble and turnovers.

    If Loob is digging up players like Ngard LW and Zagidulin G he is definitely earning his keep and helping the team.
