  1. I figured I'd try and save you guys some money and get chat GPT to design the new arena. You're welcome. The Calgary Flames, a team with a fiery spirit, deserve an arena that reflects their passion for the game. Let’s envision a remarkable home for them: The Flames’ Blaze Arena Design Concept: The Flames’ Blaze Arena draws inspiration from the team’s name and the iconic Calgary Stampede. It seamlessly blends modern architecture with rugged western aesthetics. Here are the key features: Cowboy Hat Roof: The arena’s roof takes the form of a gigantic cowboy hat, paying homage to Calgary’s cowboy heritage. The brim extends outward, providing shade to the exterior plaza and creating a dramatic entrance. Rodeo-Inspired Facade: The exterior walls mimic the texture of weathered leather chaps, complete with intricate stitching patterns. Rustic wooden beams frame the entrances, evoking the spirit of a rodeo corral. Flame Sculptures: At each corner of the arena, towering flame sculptures rise toward the sky. These dynamic structures represent both the team’s name and the city’s resilience. Saddle Seats: Inside, the seating bowl features saddle-shaped seats—a nod to the famous Calgary Stampede rodeo. Each seat is upholstered in fiery red and embossed with the Flames’ logo. Bonfire Concourse: The concourse level boasts a central gathering area called the Bonfire Concourse. Here, fans can warm up by faux bonfires, surrounded by stacked firewood logs. Starry Sky Ceiling: Above the seating bowl, a retractable roof reveals a starry night sky during evening games. Constellations twinkle overhead, creating a magical atmosphere. Chuckwagon Food Stalls: Concession stands resemble colorful chuckwagons, serving up hearty western fare. Fans can enjoy pulled pork sandwiches, chili, and sizzling steak bites. Saloon-Style Lounges: Premium seating areas include saloon-style lounges with swinging doors. Fans sip their drinks while discussing game strategy, just like cowboys at a frontier watering hole. Goalpost Cacti: Instead of traditional goalposts, we have cactus-shaped goalposts. When a goal is scored, LED lights illuminate the cacti, simulating a fiery bloom. Stampede Parade Entrance: The main entrance resembles the starting point of the Calgary Stampede parade. Fans walk through a grand archway adorned with oversized belt buckles and cowboy boots. Technical Details: Seating Capacity: 18,300 seats (slightly fewer than the Saddledome). Construction Start: December 2024. Expected Completion: August 2026. The Flames’ Blaze Arena will ignite the city’s pride and become a beacon of energy for all Calgarians. 🔥🤠
  2. Because pros always try to win. Even when some people believe a top 10 pick will be the magic bullet the team needs.
  3. He was usually stuck with Looch and Lewis. Hard to show what you got in that scenario?
  4. Ramo, Berra, MacDonald, Hiller, Backstrom, Elliot, Johnson, Gillies, Rittich, Smith, Lack, Talbot. I remember alot of anger/frustration over the goalie carousel. Sure sometimes Marky can be a exercise in patience and exasperation but it still beats the alternative. IF youre comfortable with the potential return of the carousel and an offer cant be beat then you gotta deal him. Every roster player needs to know what the expectations are going to be for the near future and let them decide if theyre on board. At this point everyone is expendable.
  5. Any trade involving Hanifin or Tanev has got to focus on another D coming back. Its getting too thin back there already.
  6. Climate Pledge was only built with 17.1K and T Mobile in Vegas only has 17.3K, I'm surprised the new one is planned for over 18K. Canada Life centre here only has 15.3K and for Saturdays game the cheapest single seat (nosebleed behind Penguins net) is $137 plus all the fees/taxes, about $60 - $70 for other teams. I dont know if thats a team, league, or Ticketbast**d thing. And you get to shoehorn your carcass into a seat the size of a early years school desk. And the league wonders why overall attendance is down.
  7. The "realistic" part of that thread occasionally disappears for certain.
  8. He shows up as non-roster on cap friendly.
  9. This was mentioned on Reddit and I checked on it myself but Dube no longer shows up on the roster. I dont know if thats normal for mental health leave.

  12. Technically, Flames still had 6 players on the ice. The penalty had yet to be called so not a PP.
  13. He's exactly a piece the roster was missing, a shoot first mentality with the shot to back it up. Having someone who can properly execute a one-timer without the usual hesitation is already reaping rewards, and as long as hes open Hubie will find him. I have a feeling with the right center it could be a very productive line.
  14. I know its been eons since I played anything competitive but we were always taught to brace for a check rather than try to dodge it. This was especially true for open ice hits.
