True but the majority of the roster overachieved that year. I'm hoping this is more of a negotiation tactic than anything else but between the end of season pressers and now thats Toffoli, Hanifin, Lindy, Backlund, and now Zad either openly or supposedly voicing their want to get out of town. Not a good look for the organization overall.

On this line up hes gotta be middle pair. Other than Weegar Zad has been the most steady, Hanifin is defensively questionable he even looks out of place paired with Tanev, and Ras hasnt looked the same since the suspension. Looking on top of the size and shot Zad seems to be one of the best for zone entries. Thats going to be almost impossible to replace via trade, no one in the organization comes close, so far.

Not the result I'd like but were seeing Flames hockey that actually didnt lull me to sleep or bore me into watching something else. Past times would have seen the team give up after the 4th goal.

Ruzie has 4pts in 7 games and can fit anywhere in the lineup, Greer a physical presence while chipping in a point occasionally. So far Hunt has been barely noticable. I'd slot in all three guys before hunt. 4 teams in the last 3 seasons sums it up.

Really should be moving on from having him in the lineup. Nothing to do with what hes going through but hes been away from the game for over a season now and theres no word on when of if he'll return. I really liked his game when he was healthy but barring a quick recovery and an even quicker time to get his game back I dont see him coming in anytime soon and sadly I dont think he'll be re signed. Besides, this team so far is more than a middle 6 d-man away from making a difference.
