  1. Sarich is right. Mony needs to worry about preventing goals. I'm a fan. We need Mony. Let's do this thing. There's 10 ways to skin a cat. Use all of them.
  2. I've been saying, Mony's our best guy at the dot.
  3. We are going to get owned. Show me different.
  4. Minny's a lock for the 2 seed. They will have to play them if the Avs win rd 1. Can't see St Loo or Nashville taking out Minny. Imo, Minny is the team that plays like we do. We shouldn't get too excited that we beat them in the home and away. They're a better team than that. Had injuries, added MAF. Little surprise with MAF, Minny always wanted him, he was always willing to waive for Minny. So I'm pretty sure MAF is where he wanted to be now. My wonder is will he play out 1 yr contracts with them now? My guess is yes. As an aside, Minny has the best hockey programs in the US of A. That's coming from someone in love with Michigan hockey. True story. That's why my teams are: Calgary-Detroit: Just don't play each other. Grew up a D fan, 20 yrs in Calgary and a Flames fan. I was always a Flames fan vs Gretzky in the playoffs my pre Calgary days. Red & White x 2. Don't judge.lol Florida - for being so under-the-radar for years yet burgeoning market not to be denied Minnesota - if they said I can have 1 state to add as a province, it's all about Minnesota, all of the time. They are, pretty much, Canadian. Minus the guns, of course. I've been a low key cheerleader since Gaborik vs VAN. Then I spent 2 months working there. I've kinda been all over in the US. Minnesota's heavily-armed Canadians With Mormon girls told to do anything to convert you. Almost Canadian. I had a 6 month pregnant girl drive me home from the bar. She told me some things. lol
  5. If Heiskenen gets back from mono, this is a really good lineup. I wanted us to get Namestnikov, he was virtually the same price as Carpenter and he's waaay better. https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/dallas-stars/line-combinations/
  6. Dallas. I feel like they haven't hit their stride yet with the sked mucking them up a lot. I also think they have a roster that has a good chance this year to make some noise. A bit of everything and a young goalie that is better than Avs goaltending already. Oettinger is a future Vezina candidate imo. Dallas was just in the finals 2 years ago, and they're better on paper now.
  7. I swear if I see any mind-numbing lack of awareness from Z tonight I'm disowning him. I think he needs a smack every 5 minutes. "Are you awake"? "Yes coach". "Okay get out there". Then I can love him again. But damn...he has a lot of great skills when his brain doesn't turn off. He can be the best and the worst in a 20 second span.
  8. Big fun gameday. Let's take it to the AVS!! Anyone catch MacK fighting Dumba? Damn...
  9. I do enjoy their delusion that they are making the playoffs.
  10. https://www.nhl.com/news/cam-talbot-johnny-gaudreau-leon-draisaitl-named-3-stars-of-the-week/c-332353090
  11. Ended with 2g, 1a. Windor took them out 5-3. Wyatt Johnston with 1g, 2a for the Spits and looking like he'll take the scoring title, 9 up on 2nd place Kerins. Kerins: 59 games 39 goals (t-5th) 63 assists (3rd) 101 points (2nd) These are generally stats that bonafide NHLers put up in the O at 19yo. Johnston is also 19. 1st rder. Luke Evangelista is running away with the goals title with 49. He's a 2nd rder (42nd oa). Just to lend some perspective on just how impressive a pick Kerins was being 6th rd (174th oa) From a size perspective with these 3: Wyatt Johnston (C) 6'1" - 174ibs Luke Evangelista (RW) 5'11" - 165ilbs Rory Kerins (C/LW) 5'11" - 185lbs There's a lot here to be excited about. His frame is fairly broad and he plays with a low center of gravity so he's hard to knock around. I still think something around Trochek is a good comparable. All situation 3C with good O instincts, potential for 2C. Not bad for a 6th rder.lol
  12. Take the points. Damn that was some fugly hockey. Went to Friday's Sting game that ended 9-8 for Saginaw in OT. Sounds entertaining? Mistake-riddled hockey is hard to watch. Happy to win, but damn.
  13. And shoot high glove. For the love of god.
  14. Sutter commented last week that he knows the minutes that he wants for Markstrom. It does kinda seem like runnin' down the voodoo. With that comment Sutter didn't seem at all uncertain that he understands the voodoo. And with that Voodoo Chile should be Marky's song.🎸🀘
  15. Nah I wanted him when OTT signed him. We needed a RW and he's a solid play driver and a good 200' player. Lots to like about him, too bad he was in the middle of that s.n.a.f.u.
  16. Watch Dadonov go on a tear. Always liked him and there was a time that I wanted us to get him a couple of years ago. With the NTC list of course...
  17. Just a thought, but for a 30 goal guy, I sure see him not getting the pass in the slot a lot. His linemates generally aren't finding him there too often, like he's the 3rd option. imo
  18. Dadonov with the OT winner for Vegas. lol
  19. More and more, I have to wonder why nobody is talking about Roman Josi. He doesn't have the kind of pieces around him that everyone else does. Yet he is scorching hot. Only Bobby Orr had more consecutive 3 pt games at 6. Josi had 4, then screwed up in the 5th game by only getting a goal and an assist. He deserves huge consideration for both Norris and Hart.
  20. A friend of mine has really good Oilers seasons tix. A couple years ago he treated me to a Flames game.. Principe was above us doing the pregame. My buddy, who is a very large man, yelled up, "Shut the f*** up Principe, you're probably drunk again, as usual". To say that I was taken aback is a huge understatement. Principe clearly heard him and looked really embarrassed. I was like "Jeezus man". I can neither confirm nor deny what he told me afterwards, so I'll leave it out. But damn, I thought that I hated Frances...that was other level, pure scorn. He has 4 lower-level over-priced season tix. I thought for sure security was coming. Nope. But I will say that over the course of 3 Flames camps while I lived there, I never saw Frances. Virtually everyone else, but not him. I never liked Lombourdias, but meeting him changed my mind, big time. Peter is gold. He never speaks in negatives about anyone. Just happy to be a part of it all. Anyone remember Frances on 960 a few years ago at Christmas talking about a specific christmas light being gawdy and, in effect, "what kind of loser..." Only to have Peter say. "I have those and we love them, so I guess you think that I'm a loser". The backtracking was magnificent. Peter just kept saying. "No, that's okay. I get it". Blockchain Eris Frances and his mom that he rode in on. My dad's cousin ran the Calgary Sun, I know Frances' story...Mommy got him a job.
  21. Yeah I saw that. Outside of Noodles on Overdrive, O'Neil and company are insufferable Leafs homers. Duthie closed it out well. MJ, next time we ask a question, can you just answer it instead of asking a bunch more questions?lol
  22. If Carpenter is in tonight, I hope no one expects much. He is Richardson, pretty much. I'd have preferred just keeping Rozie up. But my understanding is that they want him to work on his game speed. Carpenter is a 4th line guy that is unlikely to elevate beyond that. With Rozie, the potential is there to move up. At the end of the day, I guess the most important thing is to keep buliding chemistry with Pelletier, I hope. As for Mony, I haven't had a problem with his game play. Looch has been struggling mightily imo.
  23. I'd love to see Frances ask a question and the interviewee look around and say, "hey, where's the ignore button up here"?
