  1. All things considered, Beck still managed to put up good numbers: 36 games (30 less that teammates) 22 goals (2nd on team) 22 assists (3rd) 44 points (2nd) +5 (2nd) PPG:1.22 (1st, by a lot) No point extrapolating over a full season as it isn't clear how many games it took him to play at 100% upon returning. For next year, god willing and the creek don't rise, I'd expect a goal-scoring title. Luke Evangelista won it this year with 55 goals. I could see Beck exceeding that number. As pretty bad as they've been this year, they'll have a lot of returnees that were generally high OHL draft picks next year. See how playoffs vs North Bay go now, but they're going to get waxed.
  2. I found during the playoffs 2 yrs ago and trying to get in last year that it was Dube and Mangiapane that brought the intensity every shift more than anyone else. I'm guessing that trend will continue. I'm not concerned much by slow starts, they happen with every team in the league. No matter which team, no team is playing a solid 60 every single game.
  3. Very true and now proven. I'm a little surprised Sutter let it get to a stats game, but here we are.
  4. Was that his folks they panned to? They looked like they just had a massive fight.
  5. Holding out for a Dube hattrick. He and Mangiapane have a whole other gear in the playoffs past.
  6. This is our playoff roster, a few guys got time off which takes a bit to be in go-mode. Poor Arizona, just worked out this way. Imo when you can see you're a playoff team, you start being deceptive to playoff threats. Come playoffs, sure, watch tape of our games. That's not what I'm going to do this time. And Darryl's crazy like a fox.
  7. The main thing is that know it will arrive. I brought the positivity to those lacking.lol This is a very good team vs a notsomuch. Never doubt!
  8. Just when everyone needed a Dube to calm down.lol
  9. Dude, we've gone phishing, important part of the chess match. We're not very good.lol This is like watching a clinic of, "don't talk about us". Remember we were everyone's sweetheart 10 days ago? I actually love this.
  10. Holy, the temperature's rising in here.lol Stay positive.
  11. If you don't mind me chiming in...the whole problem with tdl is transition time. It takes a long time on average, even for Toffoli paying immediate dividends. It takes a while. Look at Reinhart in Fla, he was up and down like a whore's drawers with his play for 40 games, now he;s right in there. Then look at Giroux, he's been okay, they still would have won 9 in a row without him. Bennett, same. Look great sometimes, but up and down. Jarnkrok is maybe mid-6, I don't know his life situation, but you're packing up your life because you've been traded, from Nashville to Seattle to Calgary in <1yr. I get they're pros and have jobs, but it's very unsettling to your personal life.
  12. No Kerins tonight for their last game so he ends the reg season with the stats above. The 118pt season is 11th all-time in SSM's OHL history (1972).
  13. No doubt. Currently the worst team in the league.
  14. And Kerins is a lock now for 2nd in OHL points with 1 game left. 5 back of 1st, 7 ahead of 3rd. He keeps collecting game stars. 2nd and 1st in the last 2. Can't recall the last time he wasn't a game star.lol 67 games/43g/75a/118pts What a year!!
  15. It is definitely a breath of fresh air. And about time we can look at our prospect pool in a positive light.
  16. I look fwd to Sutter's interviews almost as much as games. He has an incredible grasp on what he wants and what he expects. I think, more than anything, the Flames are his fave team like it is ours. Being a very high level coach, he was as frustrated as we were watching crap. He's fully invested in fixing all of the junk we were watching. There have been a lot of fixes throughout the org, I think he's a thoroughly invested Flames fan that at some point last year decided, "JFC I can't watch this Satoshi Nakamotoshow any longer". And he had the stroke to change us. God love 'em.
  17. Well said. They've kept us intrigued for 5 months as opposed to leaving us apathetic like last year. Of course we all want playoff success, so does every hockey fan. For me, it's a team that puts the workboots on and that's all that I ever asked. Win or lose this is a good team that leaves it all out on the ice. Come what may, it's been a really satisfying year of not getting laughed at for being a Flames fan.
  18. Tis the day, hopefully we go f.a & f.o on the Vegan Golden Blights!!
  19. Damn I loves me a poignant Darryl, especially when he's caught being very poignant. Excellent interview on the main page. The question at 2:15 is a great answer. I have a handful of friends and acquaintances that got a sniff of the show. Then played overseas. You've got one fleeting and quickly extinguished shot is the commonality. https://www.nhl.com/flames/video/sutter-130422/t-277437092/c-11347592
