  1. No I'm saying he's the one that shot then from the point..they went straight in..he wasn't in front of the net
  2. Please don't say Young Guns... Some of us still have PTSD... 😂😂😂
  3. Actually I believe he scored them both on screens from the Blueline
  4. At that stage is where you start to have problems that are good to have .. but ya at his tag right now I'd have no issues moving mange.. in the above scenario I'd be Tempted to swap Laine and Pelletier .. playing with backs and Coleman keeps you with more time.in the O zone.. backs can set upaine for his shot when he's not doing pp time
  5. After i think more about it .. I think it's Vanek I'm thinking of ... Got tossed all over the place .couldn't back check to save his life ...but dude could score goals
  6. We're on what...a 4 game road trip?.. my prediction is hanifin comes home signed..or doesn't come home at all... The ultimatum has been given .. Laine is one i'd take a chance on.. he's never struck me as a lazy player..just perhaps a misused one .. he's another one who does what he does well.. but needs a partner in crime . He doesn't generate many of his own chances but he finishes them really well Pld has been a lazy prima Donna since his sophomore year .. I called that a bad trade and deal for LA when it was made
  7. 💯.. I've always been a big proponent of let the player do what they do best ..always good to learn some new skills ..sure ..but don't stifle what they do.. Kuzmenko isn't paid to defrnd ..he's paid to put the puck In the net.. in just one game i saw he knows Instinctively where to be to do that..just needs someone who can make a pinpoint pass... Which Huberdeau does well..(and so does Petterson..hence 39 goals).. since Hubie has been here..I've seen so many passes to perfect scoring positions ..but nobody was there .. that is the difference Rhett warrener made a career out "off the glass and out " .. simple defense ..play physical.. know your role and do it well... I remember being so utterly ticked off when we traded Kent Nilsson..reaeon being his defense was so bad..but that wasn't what he was paid to do.. (in hindsight due to the trade tree it created I learned to accept it ) but it really made me mad at the time I forget the name of the player ..Russian I think... Played and bounced around for years usually the deadline .. player for Montreal at least once maybe twice... But his big knock was he sucked at defense...but usually scored 25-30 goals a year
  8. This game to me encapsulates what is wrong and ineffective with the "tanking " mentality.. People step up.. we lost our #1 center , but then players like Zary steps up.. players play for fun and jobs .. energy flow to the vets ..you win games you really should have no right winning.. players playing in situations they never did before because they were so far down the depth.. Hubie and kuzmenko were out there on a PK FFS.. and didn't look brutal Instead..in a retool.. players like Zary motivate players like Kadri .. Hubie looked like he was having fun for the first time since we got him.. the dman vegas dumped on waivers looked like an every day player .. I remember watching buffalo trying to tank for McDavid ..I lost count how many goalies they traded every time they started stealing games ..and they still don't have that killer mentality back .. To be that bad .. you have to demotivate .. have them going into games with no hope ..then you end up with what the oilers did for years ..all this talent but "losing was ok" .. then expecting them to just flip it on.. Thing I like about Conroy and Iggy directing team..is they both lead this team thru success and failure ..they know what was missing when we lost... They know what we had that made it work.. I'm really ok with Connie doing what he thinks needs to be done ..and sounds like he has the freedom to do it
  9. It's only one game . But you could definitely see some immediate chemistry with Hubie.. keep building on that and we just may have gotten Huberdeau the outlet he's been looking for ..
  10. I think a lot was on him.. he was playing for the longest time like a guy just going thru the motions.. and look , love the player , that's not meant to be a knock.. its like when you are at work knowing you're going on vacation in a week.. the focus just isn't there .. just haven't see that extra gear or jump in a long time
  11. The age I'm ok with..you need solid placeholders while the kids get better...but I just checked and he's also a UFA so scratch that idea
  12. Retool... Keep good players.. bring in a mix of win now players and futures .....playoffs always a goal... Rebuild ...tear it down...sell anybody with value over the age of 24.. bring back picks and prospects only ..maybe eat other teams bad contracts.. losing as much as possible is the goal
  13. Give us a first..Forbort and a prospect or 2 and have a nice day
  14. Word was he was told recently to either sign or be moved ..just not sure what his deadline was.. some think it was this weekend
  15. Hanifin already over 23 minutes and putting on a show ..maybe Conroy hoping to leave him behind lol
  16. That's what I'm talking about... Beautiful pass right to the sniper and in... Those 2 are gonna be dangerous
  17. I'd have more interest in Kessel for the rest of the season.. brings more value
  18. I don't fault BT for the monahan deal... Have to take it in the context at the time... There was serious conversation about whether his career was over.. hes an awesome good news story , and happy to see him back to what he was ... In fact I'd like to see us take a run at him in the summer ... But at the time we had a banged up player possibly career over that we needed to move to get the player we needed .. had to be done and made sense at the time
  19. Ya know..a weak D top line is not the end of the world .or unheard of . Wasn't all that long ago McDavid and Draisaitl were one of the worst defensive lines in hockey... But they scored enough nobody noticed or cared.. they just have to be deadly enough to overcome it ..and the D and goalie on the ice have to ready for anything coming back their way
  20. To be somewhat fair.. after the morning announcement that the initial date has been adjourned to April , so lawyers can receive and review all the discovery evidence, and no pleas have been entered yet.. we knew this was all we were gonna get today ... Some things you can read between the lines on... 2nd charge against MacLeod would indicate he is John Doe 1 Only charges that "currently" have sufficient evidence have been laid.. tho she didn't acknowledge she also didn't rule out more to come possibly Past that.. it's pure legitimate legality that we won't hear any more details until they come out in court
  21. Again.. not looking for ideal..were looking for what these kids can do in the roles they expect to grow Into.. flip Pelletier and Zary back and forth is ok.. want to see what chemistry pelts and Huberdeau can increase on.. Let em make mistakes ..that's how they learn ..and they learn better with no fear of benchings or demotions Definitely keep the Backlund / Coleman shut down line together as you're gonna need it Pospisil can move up dand down the lineup.. I like him in the 4th simply becaue he brings energy and pestiness while still being dangerous
  22. Tbh..I can see it all.. discussing ideal line is great and all.. but in reality when you move you number one center and one , maybe two of your best dmen is imminent.. you've shown you've accepted "next year " mode .. Throw it all in a blender .. give pelts and others a crack at the top line ..I still say play them where you want the to end up.. pelts is a top line prospect..play him in the top line .. kuzmenko is the potential to be your top goal scorer , play him like it ..etc.. Obviously you play to win every game..but if they can keep the games exciting and competitive..but still lose , then you win in all cases.. losing never becomes acceptable . You find out what these kids are capable of and where they are at ...who can be a key part and who they can cut bait on . I'd move to a top line of Huberdeau -yegor-Kuzmenko.. put Pelletier on the right of Kadri and Zary.. get some excitement going and get into a better lottery position
  23. Not saying they're shopping him, but they certainly might listen to offers.. he's not overtaking their top 2 centers anytime soon.. Him and Coronato are different .. coronato has never played this long a season..it's understandable he needs to get used to the pro game and grind .. Wright was billed as the next borderline generational talent.. he slid in the draft..had to be a reason.. had a chip on his shoulder ..got sent back .then sent down.. wouldn't surprise me if he wants out himself .. Seattle sees itself as a serious playoff team .. package Hanfin and Tanev, or maybe mangiapane..do some magic with picks and prospects ..I think they'd listen
  24. I actually wonder what it would cost to get Shane Wright out of Seattle ?.. he seems like a guy who just may be out of favor with his current team that a change of scenery and a top job for the taking could wake up.. He seemed to need an attitude adjustment and a dose of humility coming out of the draft which I'm sure by now must have registered .. but to Seattle and their fans he must be looking like a bust they could be willing to move based on who's ahead of him on the chart now Kid obviously has talent to get here on the path he did ..he's been a top star at every level except pro .. use Hanifin as a centerpiece to get them to sell low
