  1. The refuse to lose flames are breaking team tank hearts 🍻🍻 Final score 3-4 in honor of Kipper night too
  2. Problem is both Montour and Forsling are UFA so takes them out of trade consideration
  3. Exactly..hence why I think they are longshsots unless they get really creative..tbh Boston has a couple pieces I could accept.. but it's thin..
  4. Problem is they really dont have much to give.. ? Without picks it pretty much has to start with Lundell +.. and I can't see them doing that .
  5. You're not wrong..but I'd say he's a decent tdl flip.. even if you get a 5th it's still a win.. we need a center ..we don't have one .. so it's not like he's holding a kid back.. and on the flip side if he clicks with Kuzmenko . You win twice As far is washington is concerned ..gm said he wants a change of scenery.. they don't give up a roster player per se.. and can still pad with the pick and prospect.. all together it's like the Lindholm return (except kuzmenko is younger ) .. we have the room and by the time we truly need it he'll be gone I truly don't see the downside here And to add to the conspiracy theory..say he clears waivers and is willing to come here .. now wash can maybe eat some salary.. add some sweetener .and we can put him right on the wranglers until he's ready
  6. It was hilarious at the time too lol.. and that was also the day I learned Regehr was a D$$k too .. Iggy reamed him out right in front of everybody for it . But that's another story
  7. Actually thought about that.. now this is obviously a fat out there take ..but not impossible to believe .. Caps were one of the teams supposedly sniffing on hanifin.. what if by putting him on waivers knowing Calgary would put in a claim (as Calgary is probabaly on his nt list) and if successful it's considered as a *wink* part of the trade ..caps only then have to give a pick and a prospect .. and if some other team gets him ..well then caps still win by clearing the space and there a plan b
  8. You mean someone who admitted he had a problem and sought help for it ? What a bad message to send kids.. dont admit your problems kids ..never seek help ..it only ends badly... flames also have one of the best on staff counsellors in the league. And who cares about the cap hit? Even team tank should be all over this .there is literally no risk.. only upside .. Keep the games exciting.. .. bleed chances and lose..while at the same time get your kids playing with skill
  9. Interesting.. 2 years left .. stop gap center .. I could see us claiming .. Wouid actually make a ton of sense .. He doesn't count against the cap yet, We need a center .. we likely would have to get one in UFA anyway .. the kids need to play with somebody with skill We have the room especially considering we are about to move out 2.5-5M in hanifin .. Waivers bypasses his NTC.. and at either of the next 2 TDLs any pick you flip him for is a win.. Not to mention.. add a skilled Russian to play with Kuzmenko
  10. I think it's more likely he's upset it wasn't dispelled.. I still highly doubt any leak came from the flames camp.. makes no sense and it would serve no value .. Makes more sense his initial comments about he wouldnt say no started a snowball.. Teams made calls.. agents leaked info .. pressure was on ..
  11. This exactly.. too much reading between the lines and posting as fact for clicks ..maybe he really was not feeling well ? Eg even if you take as fact the deal fell apart over retention , the assumption was flames walked away..Murray mixed it .. maybe the devil's were the ones that came back and said " our owners want retention" .. or they balked at the full contract for the return .. too many assumptions over one piece of what might be fact I did read an interview with Zucker recently where he said what happened .. the deal was done and agreed but they couldn't reach Edwards who was in the air and couldn't get him on the phone before the deadline passed (yes I know private jets have phones.bu there was some issue Getting him on the phone ) Why he needed Murray's sign off on a trade is a post for another time ..lol..
  12. Technically yes, he can traded to 24 teams without his consent ..it comes down to return.. if you know you are getting a pure rental with no chance of signing him.. your offer is likely less than even if you think you have hope.. Boston , Vegas , Florida and Tampa at apparently where his agent is trying to steer him to, but they have no firsts .. limited prospects and less likely to give up a good roster player ahead of the playoffs
  13. I believe you're right..not totally sure .but all the more reason to send him to a bottom feeder he won't likely sign with .. his supposed key teams have nothing to really give us .. the others are being scared off likely because theyve been *wink wink* informed he won't sign there .. take on a bad center or d man contract to get them to give you a second and mid prospect
  14. 💯.. the key is be willing to lose the player , but not for nothing . Giving Johnny the benefit of the doubt , that maybe he was torn up to the last second ... Bt still got Burned by the one that was his strength .his relationship with players.. flames were in the same situation as Canucks (except EP was an rfa..ok) contender status .. top player (more realistically his agent) using leverage .. should have sent a message an used TDL as a deadline and threatened to move him if he didn't want to sign . Conroy actually has an opportunity here with Hanifin.. his agent is apparently trying to direcr where he goes .. likely trying to force a sign and trade ..I'd be on board with no home run on hanifin if it sends him to a bottom feeder team for a 2nd( high second just as good as a late first ) so he loses his 8th year
  15. I'll never be a fan of the Canucks ..but let this be a lesson for the next Johnny type scenario... VC.. let's extend EP.. were not talking during the season . VC.. were trading you to Carolina EP wait what ?
  16. Absolutely.. that's why hes in my B category..(to be fair only Friedman is an A for me .. ) his sources are typically..good ..his posts tend to have truth based comments ..but he has gotten a little click-baity and does have some biases
  17. I think this is the place for the stories .. Only ever met him once .. the team was at a patio in eau Claire shortly after the 2006 playoffs getting bounced by Anaheim.. they were all great. Was able to get a jersey signed ..but was having an issue finding kipper .. finally found him . He was straddling the patio fence . So he could hold his drink inside ..and his cigarette outside lol
  18. I'm not a huge fan of Lebrun..but I will admit he's in my "B" category.. there's usually a shred of truth to what he says .. If we sift thru all the gossip and assumptions..I got the sense the original offer that had the flames seriously considering was Holtz, a first , and either a B/c prospect or another pick... Somewhere along the way the devil's asked for retention and that upped the price and the deal died.. flames also seem to be hot for Mercer .. If true.. likely the devil's have either comeback with the original package with no retention.. or some adjustments... But also , it only says they are willing to go no retention..not made an offer so it could also mean square one .. Wanted to add... The more i think about it..this is a perfect example of clickbait manipulation.. does it say they made an offer ? No.. does it say they're willing to offer the Same or better ? No.. just says they're willing to not ask for retention.. Apparently the flames passed on an Tanev offer that included a first..because it also meant taking back a bad contract .. took a lesser pick and prospect instead.. sooooo. What are the odds reality is sure they'll take the whole contract but now will only offer X..? .. but social media is going off saying "oh they have to take it now ".. assumptions without all the facts is what makes a mess
  19. Ya tbh the only insider i put any stock in is Friedman.. he seems to respect both sides and is very careful about what he says .. hence then his sources trust him more.. Francis I've always taken for what he is .. a reporter more interested in clicks and readership . Yesterday was a great example.. first he asks the question..at a really disrespectful time... Then he does a radio hit where he says " I don't know " what markstrom meant... Then writes an article about what Markstrom meant ... So which is it ? Lol But its like what I'd said earlier.. who leaked all this ? Who benefits ? .. I highly doubt it came out of Calgary's camp.. even NJ would be silly to leak it as that could upset negotiations... But the agents like to force teams Into doing their bidding . Somebody asked the question " who cares where Hanifin is traded , if he wants to sign certain places he can do so in just a few months " .. simple .. the 8th year of the contract
  20. To be honest this whole Markstrom thing is off the rails ... I think much of it is being driven by media and agents.. much like how hanifin's agent seems to be trying to dictate to where his client gets dealt .. Awhile back ..Marky, like a good teammate comments that If flames were to come to him, he'd be open to having the discussion.. suddenly he's "asking for a trade " .. word gets out Jersey made an attractive offer (who leaked that anyway ?) ..and it was a done deal...it was never close .. he was aksed to waive ..he did waive ..he was never asked. He didn't waive .. flames asked for more .. Murray Edwards nixed it .. all of it being stated like fact .. Markstrom makes his comment today.. he's talking about Conroy..he's talking about Edwards..he's upset the deal wasn't done ..he's upset the deal was talked about.. maybe he's upset he's busting his hump for this team and everyone from fans to media are running him out of town ? . He's partially to blame ..he made the statement with no clarity. I get you don't discuss potential moves publicly but Conroy could also have put water on the fire by making any statement to kill the negativity.. I can see suddenly his days being numbered now due to it all . But the bulk of it reeks of agent manipulation..
  21. I agree with this.. typically that is the last step. Perhaps an informal " hey we're chatting with NJ right now is that something you'd consider" but the sign off is usually part of the done deal .,
  22. Ya I really don't mind the outlook on the kid ... Was listening to a scout saying also he missed a year of development due to covid. So never really got worked Into any offense . so on the right system he may be able to find a bit of offensive upside .. not saying he's gonna turn into a scorer ..but he has the tools to work into a lot of secondary assists
  23. Twitter is so hilarious right now .. So we trade Tanev , essentially for 2 second rounders .. Toronto settles for a lybushkin trade for a 2025 3rd.. I can only guess their offer for Tanev was similar .. Rumors we had a first and a bad contract on the table .. people are speculating it was either EDM and Ceci..or Colorado and Johansson.. Twitter right now full of EDM and Tor fans saying " it's obvious Conroy just won't deal with Toronto or EDM "...🤣🤣 How about " your offers were garbage and we took the better offer " ? Lol
  24. Rental or not , trading a dman of his caliber I dnt foresee a deal that doesn't include a 1st..UNLESS its Boston or Tampa who don't have one(the their 2026 if unprotected has some intrigue ) .. in which case I expect an A prospect in the deal Hearing some buzz today too that an extension still isn't off the table
  25. He'll report to the wranglers... May take a few days ..he's a Russian on a US visa so they need to get him a Canadian one .. so may take just a few days longer
