Funny I was listening to sportsnet and im not sure his name but he feels Huston will not see a team for a few yrs and he be leaves that the Coyotes or another team in as much trouble will go before CGY the guy thinks CGY will never move because the team is to good as far as stability goes.

Good point but either way the team will be gone in the next few yrs I think it is there way of moving the team and put the blame on some one else. They don't want to look like they are the bad guys but they also won't admit they are moving because they fear fans would stop going to games.

well I guess it is working the owner ship wants to move this team and they won the Flames will be going to Huston by 2019 at the latest. They don't want to look like the bad guys so the pointing figures at Nenshi worked perfectly. They knew it would piss him off and it would stop any future conversation on the building of a new arena here in CGY. Of course they don't want to make the owner ship look bad they also don't want to let the Fans know they will be moving on for fear of the fans no longer going to the games I don't bother commenting any more but I just had to see how the ppl on this forum would handle the fact that the flames will be no longer be here in the next few yrs. I myself be leave it to be a close to a fact but curios how others on here are going to handle not having a NHL team here in Calgary any more?

I think when the Flames move to Seattle or Quebec they will never fill the arena like they do here. If the team starts failing like they did here for yrs they will never get the support they got while the team was not seeing any progress in the playoff and played like an AHL team. I'm not happy with the threat Management pulled lost a ton of respect for the Flames owner ship knowing the Flames will be moving has put me into a I just don't really care about the Flames any more. I guess the good thing for the Flames forum you will hear alot less from me thats for sure.

I think realistically our biggest concern will be goal tending we have at leat 4 or 5 top D that can handle to top min we have forward lines that can handle both the tuff offensive minutes and give the other team all they can handle in the aggressive end of things if they put MrT Bennett and Lazar or Brouwer on a line together with the new additions like perhaps Foo and Janko or poirier I can't see why we can't get passed the second round for a change if not then we are looking at another goal tending change perhaps by then one of our own will step up. I can't see them putting the losses on BT's head but when it comes to loseing in the NHL you just never know who's going to get the axe

It kinda sounds like the Anderson Kyl draft yr both very capable players but Rasmus is more all rounded player and Kyl is more a offensive player with lots to work on the defensive side. When we were passing on Lilje I kinda thought of Kyl right away exact same scenario both were high euro players but moved down only Kyl moved down a lot compared but like I said same thing. -

So we picked before TO and passed on Timothy Liljegren did we do the right thing or did we make a big mistake or are they comparable? Timothy Liljegren was projected to go much higher but so was Valimaki although Vali was only a couple of picks higher Lije was considered to be top 5 in European skaters similar to Kyl. What do you PPL think matter much or not or did we make the best choice for our pick? -
Know again never said they were any good but are you telling me with out prejudiced that none of there kids are any good? So with all the 2nd and third rounders never made it passed the AHL and never will? plus you think Jesse Puljujarvi he is a wash as well? So no one on there prospect can hold a candle to our kids correct?

? Again never said they were better just thought they had way more and now I will have been proven wrong once again I guess what I have seen and what is reality is just in my little mind And so it goes.

No way really thats crazy I have watch the oilers picking in the 9 to ten picks in a draft while we had 5 or 6 so colour me surprised so where is this info im sure I watched a couple of drafts where Oilslicks picked way more than us and if we didn't pick in 2015 till last 4 round given away picks galore I don't know how that could be. Very strange last picks we gave away 2nd and 3rd given away 2 picks to get Kyl a few yrs back I guess I have missed something along the way. Oilers must have sacrificed a bunch to move up that im not aware of but no surprise missing something like that don't really pay to much attention to what Oilers do.

Well I'm not going to go into it to far already getting move to Oilers so will say this think about how many picks they have had in the last 4 seasons compared to us I know 1 season they had over 9 picks to our 6 and it has been like that for yrs. Now again not saying what they do have are better just saying they have way more quantity perhaps less quality I guess it is all suggestive isn't it depends who you ask what side of the Alberta border?

Hold on there young fellow I never said they were better I said they had way more prospects. I was commenting on Pheonix66 whom I thought was your comment so relax. I thought he meant they were with out a ton of prospects I commented on that assumption. My opinion is if you through enough sh%$t against the wall something will stick hence why we have 7 rounds of picks. We hope every season 1 of the 7 picks we get will become something even at 7th round we have had luck at 3rd and 4th even 6th that works with all teams. The more the merrier better chance of getting that young man who can become a staple on a NHL team.

I just seen it at bottom read and Quoted I guess was Pheonix that you had quoted my bad but irregardless I think it still stands that they have a ton of Propects me thinks probably twice what we have mostly because we keep given them away. We gave our top 3 picks for Hamilton we have given away a few 2nd and 3rd rounders in the last draft and seems more next draft. I know we picked up a couple kids from college but we are way behind Oilslicks in the amount of draft picks.Now saying that since we are set for a few yrs and only a chosen few really ever make it we are ok but future is still a crap shoot because we could have given away another JH or mono type player to become a contender earlier than planed. Hope it works because in the very near future we could be hooped.

I don't know how you can say they have nobody on farm i'm very confused with that? Oilslicks have been picking higher than us for yrs and have had way more picks almost every yr so what makes you think there cupboards are bear? Now I don't know how talented there kids are but they have a ton more prospects in the system and waiting to be signed last yr alone they picked I think 9 or more players? maybe yr before but I know they usually have more and higher picks than CGY.

After listening to Fan 960 they make a good point who will take eng place in the toughness aspect we really don't have that at all any more when playing the Oilers now with out the policing of eng they are going to take even more liberties same as LA there will be some big problems in the protection. So question who will take his place any idea's ?

I guess after doing more reading it could have been worse he could have traded away 1 of our top 6 for a has been so thanx BT maybe next week you can give up our 1st for a second and a third and a bag of pucks .

We lost a pick next yr and perhaps a better trade partner for Hickey who was not coming here any way and No I not a family member. He will have a better chance of playing for Yote than here because we don't give our kids the opportunity any more any how. we have become a trade away or kids for experience that may or may not do any better. And we just gave BT another 2 yrs ouch he will drag this team down to the ground trade all our future and then when he is done get Hired back by yotes thanking him for all the great prospect he will give him in the next 2 yrs. No of course I don't but saying that I said from start since he decided to finish his college career I in my little mind knew he was not going to come to Calgary. Why do I think this it's because we do not bring up our kids any more we bring in experienced D he has seen that and probably asked where they seen him on the Flames prospect list and I think thats right I think what they told him didn't sit well. JMO (AB12 )

I knew Hickey was not coming to Calgary hence the trade of Hickey we gave away a player that would have gone into the free agent group any way so no lose there Chad no lose so we lose a third if we make the playoffs so the way Smith played for Coyotes we will not lose the third as well. I think we could have possible got something better for Hickey like perhaps a bag of pucks and a 7th rounder but time to move on. Glade Oilers never got him so far any way.

Can some one tell me how many mosques and Islamic centres are being built with tax payers money all these schools and centres are all supported by Calgary taxpayers and tons of money go into them I don't think any money is coming back to the city any time soon Just saying.

We don't need a goalie costing us a kings ransom we have the players we need right under or noises Gillies Rittch and Parsons top 3 go with them let the chips fall were they may Im in no rush to get to the playoffs and leave in the first 2 rounds what do we gain from a couple of rounds and low end draft picks. I thought we learned our lesson with dutter what did we gain given up our top picks to make it to second round if lucky and what pick 22nd to 30 in first round never got us any where. I think a little excitement watching our home grown kids fight for a top spot as #1 and see what they can do.

I thought it was just a pay day for him nice to learn it wasn't a total lost and he helped the team in some form. we wil now be able to do some damage in a sense due to the players coming off the books I know we have some young ones looking to cash in I just hope they don't play the JH card and try for a short trem high dollar payout.
