So have we become the new Oilers we seem to destroy these good players they come here as soon to be great players and we seem to screw them up and then we rely on BT to trade for better players but end up with accouple of sloppy seconds while the player we traded goes on to be a top player else where isn't that the theme in Edmonton? I know I sound like a broken record if you even read my text after the last stupid post but why would we rely on BT to do this job perhaps we should keep him to do the contracts but stay away from doing any trades just way to scary.

I think the price for an average D in the NHL is over 4M now adays and I think Gio still brings something to the table and I sure don't want BT doing any more trades he has failed in almost every trade he has done almost perhaps the Hamilton trade wasn't a total lose but his trade of Kulack was a waste and the Bennett trade was nothing more than incompetent I just hope they remove him before he does any more Damage. If we allow BT to trade Gio might as well let the Kaken take him. Sorry no faith in BT's ability to make decisions when it comes to trading I don't know why most of you are willing to let BT make trading decisions?

See thats a good point that's why I don't understand why everyone is so into getting rid of Looch he might not be a productive as he use to be but he keeps other players aware that there's a sheriff in town. I believe that has stopped a lot of goalie interference and stopping the enemy from hacking the crap out of JH and mony. I also believe that the goalie coaches we have seem to destroy the abilies of the kids trying to change the way they play instead of just letting do there thing.

So where do you PPL see Wolf is he a NHL Goalie or AHL life time player? Does any one believe he can make a difference in the NHL is he going to be as good in the pro's as he is in the Juniors? I personally really hope he becomes a Fur type player very athletic with a lot of luck plus do we really want to use our 12th pick for another goalie. We really do need to find a Dimond in the ruff at forward or D but I also know that a great goalie can make up for lack of scoring but doing that puts alot of pressure on a goalie if we have to play him 70 games or more in the regular season just to make to post games and will he be able to play another 30 games or so to pull out a cup. We watched Kipper do it with a rag tag group of players although Iggy and group did play a great game IMO every series was something to watch. I just hope I get to see it one more time unless I win the lotory I will have nothing else to look forward to LOL.

I don't understand why everyone are so adamant on removing Looch he is a good player and has done his job I know he cost alot but as most here suggest keeping part of his contract why bother. He keeps the other team from beating up our players I know he doesn't do it as much but other teams know they can only do so much before they get a mit full of looch keep him and keep our picks stop wasting picks just to drop a few dollars.

Once we let players like Theo and Iggy for for peanuts it showed we are not a franchise that cares about Loyalty as far as I'm concerned it is sad but true I feel letting Gio go after the yrs of service he has given us is proof we have no loyalty just listen to you guys its business what if Gio would like to stay and finish his career here. In your minds you could care a less even though getting anything of value for him is slim to none you would rather take the bag of pucks rather than letting him retire where it all started. So lets trade him to Toronto where he can retire in his home town and get fleeced just like they have a dozen times before. We give Bennett away for at least one player who will never see the NHL probably not even see the AHL and a 2nd that might make it to the A that 2nd is like picking the top 3rd round pick Panthers were pretty good this yr. Any way doesn't matter given away Gio is a waste of a Franchise player who deserves to be respected and should retire here unless his desire is to retire in Toronto if thats the case then give him away for the bag of pucks we will get for him.

Okay I really hope we have 3 new prospects that will make a noise but I'm worried about the 3 specially when it comes to Wolf I am praying that he makes as much noise in the pros as he is in the Juniors but I was really hoping that Gil and Parson were going to be our future but Gil became a big explosion and not in a good way same with Parson who seems to be hurt or just can't get it together I would like Wolf to go and get his Goalie coaching from some where else because it seems the goalie coach we have is killing them . They come in with very good ability to stop the puck but after a few months down there they become curtains with big holes in them. Now I know coaching isn't the whole story but seems suspect and we have had some very good points getters in juniors but just can play in the pros. So I look in the AHL standings and it say we are 11-16-1 sorry now is 11-17-1 which means we are dyeing down there as well. So I don't get how you guys can get I say we have no Franchise top players someone who can change the out come of a game like say ohh i don't know Bergeron Mackinnon or even a Backland or even a dube player or even a mag Unless you think perhaps Ruz or perhaps a Gawdin. Ok I am hoping we have the kids get into the line up so we can get an Idea to see if they can make the next steps would be nice and I don't see any reason why not at this time in the season and don't get me wrong I really do want our kids kill it in the NHL but what can you say about a team that can't compete in the AHL this yr there not doing what is needed to be done to show they can compete up here.

Sorry I don't see any players making an impact in the NHL if anything there going to be bottom dwellers which is ok just not what is going to help this team make any kind of noise in the standings looks as though we are going to be another 7 yrs before we see any kind of playoff noise which means for me I will never see them make it pass the 2nd round not what gives me a fuzzy feeling.

I find it disappointing how our Kids are going the same way our Big team goes we just don't seem to have any high end kids now I know we have some that will make it to the NHL chances are they will be bottom players we just don't have a kid that will become a 30-or 40 goal scorer none will make the top 10 rookies of the yr. Now I am hoping that Gawdin could become a mang or Dube type player as to putting up a few points and playing in the 3rd or 4th line maybe even 2nd line but that is probably a slim chance. I don't understand why ppl here seem to be ok with drafting NCAA players it is a crap shoot if the player become a phenom he Shirly will not play for the flame when he can choose what ever team he wants although a few have picked Calgary most don't and we lose a quality pick to someone else and that scares me plus you have to wait 4 yrs to find out if he will play for use any way.

Thats the one Lapierre was the one I thought was the pick I thought we should have gone after but of course we will not know for a few yrs but Lapierre was the one the scouts thought was a better pick by far saying that the scouts or News scouts I guess have been known to be wrong many times.

Okay I don't remember all the names of the players we passed on in the draft but I do remember we did drop down a few picks and ended up with Zary which came with some extra picks. My Question is did we lose some quality players which will be or possibly be way better players than Zary was it worth dropping down. I know according to Management we got the player they wanted any way but of course I have never heard them say they didn't get the player they were hoping for Management is very good at blowing smoke. Heads up I know the team would never lose to any team if they could do something about it I was just hoping we could finally get a good pick since we have lost so many firsts and second rounder. So picking College players seems to be ok for this forum I don't understand why it is 70-30 chance of signing a quality player and it is 30 to use I myself do not like the percentage not worth the risk. This franchise puts a ton of time and money in getting these kids ready to play for us and we end up losing them I thibk things have changed a lot in the last 10 yrs kids don't care about who picked them they get to play for the team they have dreamed of playing for and 70% chance its not us.

Yes why not the oilslicks did it for yrs and look at the fan base they are happy with the 7-8 first over all or top 4 picks in that time the fan base has the best memory lose team in the league so why can't we for 1 lousy season.
