Don’t love the Bean and Cooley signings, but they aren’t big enough to be upset over, especially considering some of the awful deals that have been handed out already today.

The term being handed out is what is surprising me today. Think alot of teams have looked at the rising cap environment and decided that that theh can live with the buyouts once the cap is higher. Trading off future to get lower AAV now. Not smart imo

great year for the flames to not want to be FA players.

Low term which is great.  Some upside or flip them later.  If don't work out helps our draft position next couple of years.

The Flames lineup is a dog's breakfast.

Kuzmenko-Kadri-Mantha

Play these two wingers with Kadri. Hopefully you can get 2nd rounders for the wingers at the TDL

Huberdeau-Zary-Sharangovich

I wanna see Zary at C. If not, Sharangovich can do it.

Coleman-Backlund-Coronato

Pelletier-Rooney-Pospisil

Use this as an energy line

The blueline is rough

Bahl-Andersson

Weegar-Miromanov

Bean-Pachal

Wolf

Vladar

Cooley

This team is flirting with a top 5 pick

Yeah, but his quotes are worth $2per. lol

DeBrusk 7 x $5.5 is a contender.

I was expecting between 3.5-4.5 and 5.5 is plenty, glad the Flames didn't go there.

I think I would be using Mantha with Huberdeau.

Kuz with Kadri and Zary.

Pospisil with Backlund if you want to have a kids line.

I wonder about Rooney-Backlund-Coleman as a pure checking line as well.

Lot's of permutations. None are really amazing.

This is actually a pretty frustrating deal. You’re going to have a hard time convincing me one of their AHL d men can’t give you this type of results. Exact type of move Conroy said he didn’t like

Myself I think they are winding down his use.  He was a good trooper and I think they played him because they felt they owed it to him.

Don’t get this one, but it’s not a big enough to deal to lose sleep over. Probably a thank you to his Dad.

Who were you bidding against?  Seems like a situation where your negotiating against yourself.

Might be part of John Bean’s severance package.

Name brand only real reason.  I think they may have even looked at him when a trade was the likely conclusion.

My concern is that it now stops you from signing someone of quality that can play in your top 4

I'm sure there will be contenders for it.

The deals that DET and OTT are signing.....

I may have been mixing it up with CHI.

Some teams are opening up the safe.

Maybe a mentor for the young D in the AHL?

Flames are currently below the cap floor, the Wolf and Klapka signings will move them up above the floor. The Bean signing is not listed on puckpedia of cap friendly, but would also put them over the floor. Buffalo, Anaheim, and Detroit also below. Washington is over the cap and with today’s signings, Toronto has less than 2 mil space. Same with Vegas.

There could be interesting trades to come.
