GDT Flames @ Wild March 7.

Recommended Posts

Wow. Props to the Flames for taking advantage of the second life.

Markstrom was simply excellent. The Flames will need their goalie to steal a game or two and he did just that.

They have to build on this. Wasn't their best, but they got 4pts against two playoff teams.

I was watching the shutour evaporate in OT after Backlund had the little lazy backhand,

That's only for shootouts when nothing is working.

My fear was realized that Markstrom's first shutout was killed in OT.

Then the refs made the oddest call I had ever seen.

Not even as quesrionable as the McDavid one that fans and analysts ragged on about for a week.

If that wasn't control, I don't know what was.

Two goalies get shutouts, we get 2 points.

The team is not fooling me.

Make me a believer then pull the rug out.

This didn't look like a good hockey game.

Teams were missing the puck all night.

Gus made some good saves, but didn't steal a point, we just didn't get enough going.

Two games against Minny and zero goals to show for it.

Nothing is fixed, we won two games we played equal to the other team.

In both games (DAL and MIN), one goalie let in slightly more.

I will give Marky props.

This was the type of game that he was losing on one goal.

And then another.

But he has looked more calm out there.

Like he stopped listen to the coach in his ear and just played.

Good gut-check win. Its unfortunate that we have waited till March to show up. The call on the ice was the correct to call. The player inside the blue line passed the puck into the zone from the outside of the line. I think the confusion was possession but he had possession just his feet were offside and the puck never crossed the line before he passes it, was the correct call. Good confidence booster for Marky, boys were gassed and hung on. Time to go 19-0 to finish the season lmao

Correct call or not, it's 50/50 at best.

Flames get lucky in the offside call last night. Perhaps they didn't believe the wild player had enough control coming into the zone?

interesting break for the Flames. It keeps them in the season.

League reviewed, not requested.

But Sutter felt it was offside.

If he had to, he would have challenged.

All the players missed it.

This game was not as much as a must have as the Pacific games will be.

12 games against the division.

They need a win in every game against teams below us.

They need to beat LA and Vegas for points.

They need to beat CHI, DAL and OTT for points.

They need to beat WPG and NAS to battle for WC spots.

Really, the next 3 games decide our fate.

ANA, OTT and ARI.

At first I thought it was a break for the Flames but upon further review they got the call right. Wild player had possession but he didn't maintain possession into the zone as he never entered the zone with the puck. If you watch the replay again he passes the puck before the puck enters the zone. He essentially put himself off side.

Right call and an easy call once I realized that.

TO got it right.  I don't doubt that.
