"I do plan to finish someday Kiff!" -Zapp Brannigan
Basically my feelings on the 2020 draft thread in a nutshell.
-
Still in the process of editing and finalizing, but I have updated the Draft Thread to include up to my 28th ranked player! I'll keep adding to it as the night goes along.
Shoutout to Pikey, I love the work! Would love to hear more myself whenever you have the time.
-
Just wanted to give a heads up that due to popular request, I'll be bringing back the Draft Thread for the first time in 3 years!
I don't have an exact timetable but I hope to have the first part out soon, and to have all of it ready to go before the end of August.
Thanks for the well wishes, just know that I appreciate seeing my name pop up in your guys' minds even when I haven't been able to do more than lurk. Stay safe.
-
RAD! Looking forward to it!

Mock Draft made it in time for the 1st pick! Congrats to Nico Hischier, what a rise for the prospect over the 12 months.
-
Part 3 of my Final Rankings are up! I wasn't able to finish everything in time, so if you have any questions please ask and I will do my best to answer or respond accordingly!
-
Part 2 of my Final Rankings has been posted! That's my top 31, with more coming (probably).
If you have any questions, ask away!

@Kulstad, I can't login via the Flames forum login button even after changing my password through nhl.com. Right now I can only log in via nhl.com, should I be concerned or will there be some sort of fix for bugs like this as the summer rolls on?

@FF52 Man I still remember the "old" old boards, back before the switch to the current IPBoard software (I wanna say back in 08, but I'm not sure anymore). The good old days lol
-
No kidding Crzy. Man we lost some good people after every change. It was funny but right after I joined the Flames board I won a t-shirt & some of the oldtimers were POed that a newbie with my name was 1 of the 1st winners. Then I started predicting the next winners (some right) & it was like "pick me" (lol).

oh yeah.. we all forget the spammers that made our lives miserable ?

Spent 2 days trying to log into this account before learning I had to reset my PW through nhl.com. Would have been handier to say that instead of "The security code you supplied did not match the one displayed, a new code has been generated, please try again", though.

Thanks! Saved me two days of hardship and hair pulling! I noticed your post entirely by chance though. I couldn't agree more. What kind of diabolical mind thinks up such totally useless error messages? Remind me not to up-vote whomever was responsible for that lunacy?
-
that would be NHL.com and MLBAM. I've had the exact same isssue, and just got it resolved yesterday.

Whelp, just had my contract terminated yesterday, so I'll have a bit of extra time on my hands for a few days. Guess it's time to organize my draft lists.

Haha thanks guys, I needed a pick-me-up. Feels weird having time during the day but I will do my best to have my draft stuff updated as soon as possible.
-
Sorry to hear it but you were missed here.
-
Definitely missed, Better times ahead Crzydrvr!

Happy holidays! Confirmed I'm still alive and still following prospects with aplomb. I'm wondering if I should start a quick and dirty midterm draft thread, would that be something worth reading?

We've missed you Bud. Go for it.
-
It hit me when I saw FF52's name that I've been on this site long enough to remember back before the "new" IPBoard software came into effect. Cheers to you for still kicking around, old man
On a separate note, it seems there's light interest so I'll be spending the next couple of weeks putting together some semblance of coherent thought for the draft. Right off the bat, it's Matthews and Chychrun for me at 1-2, in that order. And it's a wide gap b...

For Sure always a great read!!!

Oh boy....GM Don Sweeney making it real easy to hate him. Zach Senyshen is an excellent player, but man he's really off the board with names like Matt Barzal, Colin White and Kyle Connor still on the board.
-
Did the ghost of Feaster take over Sweeney? That trade and the subsequent pick will be downfall of the GM. Not today, but sometime soon.
-
I rather like Sweeney right now. He gave us Hamilton for nada. Boston fans can hate on him but TB rolled a few picks for a player better than we could expect @ 15. I think I'll send Sweeney a Christmas card.

Sweet, sweet victory. It's been so long since I've seen the playoffs that I didn't allow myself to get my hopes up for fear of disappointment, but it feels good to be a fan for just one day.

I like to pretend I'm professional and wouldn't let my feelings get in the way of a good objective viewpoint.

Of all the years since the last playoff appearance, this one "felt" like we were in position to make it. When US Thanksgiving came and went, and we were in the top 8, I knew we would do it. During the 8-game losing streak, I felt we had a bit of a cusion, so it was still going to happen. When Johnny scored 3 goals to tie the Kings, I knew he was going to make the difference. Other teams, other years didn't have that. The Hudler/Mony/Johnny line was money.
-
I'm with you Crzydrvr, I refused to let myself go down that emotional rollercoaster and I am still in pleasant disbelief that we've made it.
It's great to be a fan here again

Watching MacKinnon play in the playoffs is a treat....there are players that step up in the postseason, and then there's Nathan MacKinnon.

Sabres relieve Darcy Regier and Ron Rolston of their duties, effective immediately. Ted Nolan interim head coach, Pat LaFontaine President of Hockey Ops.

"What are we doing today Jay?" "The same thing we do everyday John....try to take over the world."

http://oilers.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=33071 may just be the best biography I've ever read. That second paragraph was gold.
-
If you're reading this Iggy, I want you to know that the only reason I found my passion for hockey was watching you and Kipper in 04, and that may have saved my life a few years later. You inspired a whole generation of kids, and that spark will definitely burn for a long time. There is no one who ever meant more to this franchise than you. And for that, I can only say thanks for everything. Keep it classy.

Not gonna lie, but some of the posts in the "Start Irving" thread probably tempted fate a little....

Well Feaster tempted that same fate when he put both Karlsson and Irving on waivers. He tempted it again by trading Karlsson.
-
This might be fates way of getting Taylor a chance...we just signed him
-
Taylor deserves a chance.
