Lol but kinda fits this team, or at least what we have been seeing on the iceš¤¦š
-
while I do agree for the most part, the issue here is there needs to be a major change in the locker room culture so with that in mind I say: 1. BT has gotta go, he did some good things but the past two years heās not really managed much other than spending big money in FA...all be it this year he seems to have done well, the only question is the term theses guys are here for and I could see those contracts biting us in the butt...letās not forget Hamer (all be it a trade of sorts, it was still a trade and sign situation so pretty much like FA) and Hammer was pretty good for a few years there but the last few not so much. Tanev and Markstrom could flop over the next few years but for now Iām not holding it against BT but I will hold his wasteful spending on Stone and Rino as well as not being able to land a few big options Hall, PLD, Anderson (the Mlt one) etc...I should think he aught to have been able to land Anderson at the very least...anyways itās theses guys that I feel he could land mostly because I think they see Cgy as they are, a streaky team, which has been the frustration of us fans for how many years now? Itās time for new GM with new vision as this song and dance is getting old. 2. inherently with the GM, coaching staff needs a complete over haul, something that they never really have done, partly yes but there are still some guy here from the Sutter days...definitely needs to be changed...who knows it could as simple as this but Iām more of a fix the whole thing...do it right the driest time type so itās time to change out the entire coaching team...added to that, Ward has been questionable at best anyway so he needs to go. 3. core players have got to go...as a matter of fact I think Iāll list the keepers as the list is much shorter...and Iām only talking about our current active roster players not the farm or prospects: Markstrom Valimaki Anderson Hanifin Taven Lindholm Tachuck Bennett manhi or Due (not both) I think theses guys are a good core to start to build around and we should be targeting heavy on 2022 draft for compensation picks for anyone we are lucky enough to unload...our target year to compete again if all goes well would be 2022/2023 season and beyond provided we get the right players in trades and we manage a few of the the higher draft players in 2022, itās a deep draft which means a better chance of NHL ready picks (no guarantee on anything be usually deep drafts, they make the team) so our new core would look like this, not accounting for players we get in return nor am I slotting players into a particular line: Tachuck/?????/????? Manji or Dube/ Lindholm/ ????? ?????/Bennett/???? ????/?????/????? Hanifin/Taven Valimaki/Anderson ?????/????? Markstrom ???? I know it looks bad all the ??? Slots, but it dose show a huge area of weakness on the Right side. Part of why I say this is I think we have 2 guys from team Canada that are both LWās and aught to fill that left side up very nicely. We also have a young goalie coming up who would benefit from some understanding of Markstrom over the next few years...who know we may actually get to the rotation thing and each play 1/2 the seasons games? as for the D, well McKay (I think it is) seems to be doing well and I think we have a few more up and coming young D, and if not, Iām quite sure we could land some better D than we have now to fill the 3rd pairing. as for up front...itās a long shot but maybe we could pull both Eichel and Reinhart from Buf with Monahan+gaudreau+something else obviously but it would be worth the try...to lock down 3/4 Ctr slots and the 2nd line RW (I just donāt have the warm and fuzzy that Reinhart is a first line RW but I could be wrong...but for now playing it safe and saying 2nd line... all this could be done before the FA season, at the TDL which we would look for a top 6RW, 2bottom 6 RW and a bottom 6ctr (maybe less if we have any prospects that fill these areas, but none come to mind.... anyhow, it is doable to tear it down and turn it around in a few short years just need to plan it out...and obviously thatās only if we get a bit lucky and land Eichel and Reinhart (or someone(s))...a bit longer if we need to draft them. if Cgy dose this then I say a partial blow it up...if not then itās an everyone must go tire fire sale including the ones I mentioned as keeping.

Ok whatever heās an A and Landy is the c but whatever...Iām sure my point must be made regarding if thatās all your pointing out
-
Yup 100% good for Warrener!
-
Yup 100%

Actually yes it is, they are to lead the team, this is whatās missing...remember Iggy? Mackinnon leads Col..Crosby leads Pits just a few examples, of captains that have and do lead their teams.. whatās funny Iggy did the same thing as Gio lead this team and near the end seemed to lose interest in pulling the team forward...I will say Gio did carry this team for a few years but the last two he has not been much of a leader...Iām not blaming him heās just done is all..I get the sense that Cgy is a hard team to carry as a captain itās time for a change but not just the captain, the whole of the core.
-
Although yes it is fair to point the fingers at Gio heās the captain thatās their job

Lol that seems like the type of thing BT would doš¤¦ This will definitely heat up the Bennett trade talks...for gods sake, PUT BENNETT with Tachuck already!!!!!!! move Lindholm back to RW where he has proven chemistry with JG and Mony... FFS yes they got burned last year with having only 1 line but dividing the line into two parts is still NOT the answer, the answer is find a Ctr (BENNETT) for Tachuck and then do what you must to get a RW for them (short term Dube) Dear god this is not rocket science...then you have line with Manji/Backlund/Simon or Levino or whoever. then the 4th would be Obviously Lucic and whoever and whoever till Ryan is back then itās Lucic/Ryan/ whoever man itās really not that tough Ward...get a grip! im not sure why Cgy insists on ruining good players like Bennett? at this relate them may as well trade Lindholm and Valimaki for Neil...itās just about as sensible as what they are doing now on and signing Rino and Stone..what a waste of 1.4 mil (I think they combine for)
-
Itās starting to look like the flames struggles are the coach...seems every game win or loss there are very questionable coaching calls...BT may need to address this, but mid season is a bad time, Iām betting we are stuck with Ward for a while, and if he manages to get to the playoffs, and win one round we are stuck with him for much longer...I hate to say this but Iām kinda hoping they miss the playoffs but even then there is a good chance Ward stays and they blow up the core...BT seems to really suck at picking coaches and because of it is fans are frustrated with this team.

Janko wasnāt developed properly, heās doing better in pits already, show be interesting to see how he develops...however, having said that he was developing here but then took a sudden nose dive so Iām not sure if it was the player or the team...we shall see after a year or so on another team if he flops then itās the player if he dose well (which I think he will)...it may be a bitter pill for Cgy one thing I think we can all agree on, back in the day when he was drafted and now, he was clearly a waisted 1st round pick even back then he was at best 2nd rounder
-
Clearly TJ Brodie, followed by Frolik and Janko reasons: 1. Brodie with Gio would put Anderson with Valimaki which is the successor D pair to the Gio Brodie pair, well actually we would have 2 super slid replacements considering Hanifin and Tanev are clicking so good, but the sooner we get Valimaki and Anderson together thatās gonna be a heck of d pair too. 2. Frolik would be great to slot in on RW with Backlund again for the 3rd line shut down with either Manji or Dube on LW...crappy part here is Manji or Dubeās offence number would drop, however, I get the feeling of Dube were to be the LW on that he would be the fore checker and make things troublesome for the opposite side and with Backlund and Frolikās ability to hold on the the puck, I think this line would frustrate the heck out of teams and actually manage to get decent offensive number. 3. Janko, to Ctr the 4th line makes ryan very expendable, added to that I think he would slot in on the 4 line well with Lucic and either Levino or Simon on the RW...not a traditional 4th line crash and bang or a shut down line but more of a balanced line that could do a little bit of everything and hold their own against any other line. absolutely no interest in any others.
-
And thanks for this too...itās sucks that he can be but thanks for the info šš
-
Awesome thanks for that šš
-
Can someone please remind me why Lucic canāt be waived or bought out again? I remember there was something about his contract that made it pretty much buyout proof but any reason why he canāt be waived and possibly burry him in the minors to clear some Cap space?
-
Agree Bennett at Ctr with Tachuck and either Manj or Dube on the RW Lindholm has proven chemistry with Gaudreau and Monahan. I get the feel of that was done we would see those two lines take off and the 3rd line of Manji or Dube/Backlund/Levino or Simon would also be good too...
-
No what it means is Wars hasnāt figured his players out yet, for example he got lucky with Hanifin and Tanev pairing but heās trying to force chemistry with Gio and Anderson...itās just not there and he needs to figure that out..heās still stuck on the play in round luck Gio and Anderson had...the reality is Valimaki needs to be paired with Anderson ASAP as the top pair and Gio needs to anchor the third pairing. The same thing can be said with this Lindholm at Ctr nonsense...itās not working...well least not as good as: Gaudreau/Monahan/Lindholm and yes last year we did fall victim to that being the line to shut down and it shuts down the Flames...but if ward would open his eyes a bit and make Bennett Ctr Tachuck with Manji or Dube on the RW then there are two hard lines to shut down with: Gaudreau/Monahan/Lindholm Tachuck/Bennett/Dube (pref) or Manji and then follow it up with: Manji or Dube Backlund/Simon or Levino thatās three solid lines Iām still not 100% on Manji and Dube for line 2 and 3 it kinda depends on who they click with best but in either case they are keys to having 3 solid lines....obviously whoever of Simon and Levino fall to line 4 with Lucic and ryan (or whoever till ryan gets back) but Iām kinda thinking Simon on the 4th and Levino might do well with Manji and Backlund
-
Starting to sound like Bennett my stay as RW with Gaudreau and Monahan...sounds like Bennett brings the skills they have been looking to add to the duo... maybe, just maybe, this fits...Iād love to see Bennett have some success with these two too..still think he should Ctr Tachuck but if this works thatās great too! Beats taking TOās garbage and it would be great for Bennett to have some success and help the team too I still think BT refuses to see the real issue is Lucicās salary and lack of RWās and skilled size up front which if Bennett were to be moved to Ctr Tachuck would expose the RW weakness BT just canāt seem to find a fix for...I will say he was 100% right to look and Anderson (now Mlt but then CBL) how awesome would that be right now? Gaudreau/Monahan/Lindholm Tachuck/Bennett/Anderson Manji/Backlund/Dube thosemwouldnhave been some pretty amazing 3 lines right there!
-
Ha, not sure what the lines were like last night against Edm but, I find it funny the last goal Bennett scored and Gaudreau and Monahan assisted on at even strength... thing is Iād really like to see what Bennet can do with Tachuck and Dube on the RW
-
Not necessarily, I think itās more because Ryan is out...unless there is a trade being worked out which Iām not 100% that there is, I think you see Bennett play tonight...if heās not playing Iād expect a trade coming in the following few days... howerver, Iād rather see him with Tachuck and Dube for at least 10 straight games and move Lindholm back to RW with Gaudreau and Monahan
-
Lol yes but so too dose the top 6 especially on the Right side
-
Wow this is definitely not on the mark at all...well the identity part, this team has no identity...back in the day they did, hard working, thatās clearly not the case theses days, which is the bone of contention for most of us over the past several years all we see is lazy no drive or will to win, fans are completely fed up with the excuses by players and the GM saying every trade/FA signing miss didnāt make sense, yet we had OāNeil, Stone oh and then a mistake swap which sticks us with a buyout proof Lucic albatross contract...yet every year we see teams with similar issues finding ways...maybe BT aught to āfind a wayā to fix some issues then maybe the players can learn from him...I get the feel the take the easy way stems from the top
-
Well said šš
-
I agree poor showing by the coach here, I get a feel it was punishment for not coming to the team first about wanting a trade...again all speculation but kinda has that feel...unless ward is smarter than we give him credit for, he may be a genius if the plan was to sit Bennett for a game to show him how valuable he is to the team regardless of where he plays in the lineup? Again, Iām not sure thatās the case but if it was...well played, may even light a fire under Bennett...I still wish they would Play Bennett as Tachuckās Ctr and move Lindholm back to Gaudreau and Monahan...I have a gut feeling Bennett and Tachuck would click kinda link Gaudreau and Monahan do if they would put him with Tachuck for like 10 games or so Backlund is fading now too, he is still good but definitely needs 3rd line duty now
-
Like really where is the line shake up? Is it Dube and Bennett being back in?
