  1. Personally I’d put a hard pass of Hall, too much money and and he’s 30 now...gotta stay away from those players, your not getting the most for the assets you send to Buf... I do agree, Buf has some pieces we could look at, yes Eichel and Reinhart and a few others but NOT Hall. im still of the thoughts, we need to add by subtracting this TDL and off season,if at all possible: Lucic Backlund Gio Ryan Ritter (only cause he’s paid more than he gets to play...better off paying for a lower priced backup) One of Manji or Dube Simon Levino Gaudreau build around: Tachuck/Monahan/? Manji or Dube/Lindholm/? Phillips or Zary /Bennett/? ?/?/? it’s clear to see RW is super bad for us. This is actually how bad the team really is built and shows the holes... And I’ll say this time and again... Hanifin/Tanev Valimaki/ ANDERSON ?/ Kylington Markstrom ? clearly the strength of this team is on the D, personally that would be my focus this TDL try an land a solid fit for Kylington, someone capable of top 4 hopefully around the 4/4.5 max AAV and we could sign semi long term like 4 years. I’d also look to trade Ritter try and land a solid back up that’s got about 2-3 years max on their contract at no more than 1.5 AAV this would free up a few mil for the off season and would allow BT to focus on filling those horrible holes up front...particularly on the RW need soooo much work...And a few decent bottom 6 Ctr (targeted ones though, defensive minded, can skate, can pass, check, oh and definitely they must be solid FO guys) as for the bottom 6 LW I think both Zary and Phillips are ready slot them in soon as you can, start of next season... sure the reset of this year we will tank but who cares...it’s a deep D draft so maybe that nabs our 6th D to play with Kylington and a few depth D prospects...or even a hidden gem... as for FA BT has to stay the heck out of it and look for trades...
  2. Agreed, I think they may do just that, it’s definitely the smart move, BT is under pressure to win now though but he was last year and shelf out on making over payment for rentals...I think he will do it again...Unless a major offer comes in..then he will otherwise I hope he just unloads some of the smaller pieces to clear cap space for the off season
  3. That’s interesting but I think they want to keep Phillips in the A...I think he’s protected from the expansion draft that way.
  4. I’d say the team is trending into a up tempo, blue collar hard working team which is exactly what they need to be.
  5. I think the only reason Ryan cleared waivers is his contract $$ cause he is a solid player just a bit too pricey for his role on most teams including ours
  6. Lmao cause it’s true
  7. Well so far, Sutter goer is best move BT has made and that includes the awesomeness of the Hanifin and Lindholm trade..solid move BT this saved typurnjob no doubt but I will say I didn’t see it coming but super solid call!!!
  8. Or you look at building 2 new Gio/Brodie pairs and put Gio with Kylington to develop home some before he retires: Hanifin/Tanev Valimaki/Anderson Gio/Kylington
  9. I believe it is, based on what BT said, Sutter is not going anywhere so it’s on the players...therefore I’d suspect if they fail now there will be some major player changes
  10. This is kinda what we all have been going crazy about, the pace and intensity has been way too low...slow and soft on pucks...the question is how or what is it that Sutter dose to get his teams to play that way? We have had coaches in the past including our last one that all said the same thing as is fans do but for some reason Sutter has a way that gets every player to execute so much better and quicker. that’s why BT said this team need Sutter specifically.
  11. I do and I also remember the best pick from that draft for Cgy was Lance Buma who is not even playing in the NHL now...none of the rest including G. nemize (sp?) epic fail draft year for us...though there were others, but I do get the your point there are a lot of good D still playing from that draft class today! added to that maybe we could draft a Gio replacement this year...then we could say our d is solid for at least 4 years till Tanev’s contract expires...not a bad things at all😁👍 oh and Markstrom is good through that time too...so we could work on our forward lines pretty much exclusively for the next few years 👍😊
  12. I knew it and he said it! It’s unfinished business for Sutter...which bodes well for this team...and it seems he sees that there is a lot more to this team than what it’s been doing which is honestly the frustrations of the fans as of late. point of note for Sutter’s blue print is 1. Strong G ...this is a big check for Cgy 2. Strong D...this too is a check for Cgy 3. Strong Ctr depth...another check for Cgy all of these are what BT has been building, and also what Sutter can work with...seems they are on the same play book and it fits Sutter well👍😊 the other thing I don’t think Sutter would have taken this job if he didn’t think there was more to this team than what they have been showing and also it seem like BT went out to get Sutter in particular which honestly I can see why.
  13. I get a feeling Kylington may get a longer look under Sutter and I hope so, he’s got potential to be a very good 3rd pairing d and he did rather well last year when he was used...pair him with Gio on the their pairing and watch home develop into a really good 3rd who can fill in without issue on any of the pairs
  14. Thank you! I have been after this d set up since the season started...it makes perfect sense for 2 reasons: 1. Gio is and has slowed down, he’s still serviceable but clearly can’t do the heavy lifting anymore...it could also be Gio benefitted as much as Brodie did from the duo...in any event Gio is no spring chicken but I definitely think he’s still a solid 3rd pair...least till we can replace him, and speaking of... 2. Valimaki and Anderson are clearly the future but there is absolutely no reason to keep them from developing as a pair...start now and things may be a bit tough on the odd game but come next year...omg look out! imagine what’s better than having a pair of d like the Gio/Brodie days? Having two pair like that: valimaki/Anderson Hanifin/Tanev then I’m not too sure but I’m kinda of the thought process keep Gio for the term on the third pair to bring Kylington along Gio/Kylington that’s not bad and there is an added plus to all this, say Gio and Kylington start to come along...in 2 years we would only need to replace 1 D in Gio also another win/win situation Sutter get it done please! He the perfect coach to see this potential and it’s definitely something that would fit his d first system!
  15. This team could be, his LAK team was pretty loaded with talent and kopatar was more of an elite Ctr than Monahan or Lindholm but after that we still have some solid and probably more deep talent at Ctr. Than the LAK’s the only real thing we are really lacking is a couple of RW power forwards...which I’m betting Sutter will push BT to get ASAP
  16. I fully agree DS as a coach awesome! As a GM not so much.
  17. Well now with Sutter at the helm of this team things may be different...if he can’t turn this team around no one can...should be interesting to see Bennett now too? at the end of the day, this year we will see what this team can really do and if they keep up like this under Sutter there is not doubt it’s time to blow it up. I doubt that it will come to this, but I do think that the RW side is gonna get addressed and maybe a power forward or two for the top lines
  18. Well with Sutter as the new coach this just may become the hardest working and tough to play against team again😊🤞
  19. Ok D. Sutter...that’s an epic PASS! solid move BT!
  20. Well if we are judging him in sticking with Ward and also ok with Bennett being benched again...solid FAIL if we are judging him on this season so far...solid FAIL over the past 2 season it’s been FAIL, FAIL...excuses...FAIL BT needs to do a bunch of things: 1. get rid of Ward ASAP 2. blow this failed experiment up ASAP, it’s a looser culture time to change that like yesterday. 3. Part of blowing it up, time to move the Captain, he’s done and so is his leadership team going down with the ship..it should be the Captain not the entire crew Gio I loved this Guy and screamed blue murder when Cgy let him go to Russia for a year but having said that, I’m also the one saying it’s time for him to call it a career
