  1. You have to hate the alternative...
  2. Wings signed him last year. Missed the entire season to Achilles surgery - the career killer.
  3. I think I might be one of the few that like Conroy's whole 2 trades so far. I'm not really one to overrate Toffoli and zero chance I wanted him re-signed. I'm a fan of Sharangovich and think his skillset will only improve. Toffoli wasn't exactly setting the league on fire at the same age, Add in a 3rd and I'm fine with that. This particular trade I like because at some point we needed to start finding a way to manage out of the chains Conroy was tied up in. For the other potential trades, I don't share the, "need to replace" mindset for guys moving out. Not denying we will be left with needs, but they don't have to be tied to these trades specifically. Just put ourselves in a position to open all the various avenues to acquire players. Good players become available, we need to be in a position cap-wise and pick-wise to have competitive offers. We've sorely lacked that, so it's difficult to manage without much of a toolbox. I'll give him a B right now in seeing that I think that he's trying to create some breathing room for himself. I can get with that. Hopefully (for the umpteenth time), Pelletier will be back soon.
  4. Wowy, the puzzled takes re: Z are fading.
  5. He needs to be the driver. See: Dylan Larkin He's had that opportunity. If your wingers need to be extremely specific, you aren't a 1C so not worth $8.5-9, kill that offer hard. He's going to regret balking at $7.5 per. I can't see him getting a better offer. Term is going to be an issue. I'm sure he wants 3-4. He is seriously worth a year or 2, but it's sketchy beyond that. Likely a buyout/LTIR after 2 imo. The Leafs should REALLY make a play for him more than almost everyone. BT will be in on everyone and walk away with nothing, isn't that the schtick we all know and love?
  6. Nice to see that I'm not overrating a healthy Fabbri. 10GP; 7G/2A/9Pts. Awesome when healthy, but always injured, playing through injury or about to be injured.😭
  7. Trying to do the math on the Horvat trade: Van trades: Horvat '23 2nd to Detroit '26 3rd to Calgary Van receives: Hronek Zadorov A. Raty '23 4th (Detroit) Is that correct? Beauvillier (5th rd pick) is a wash. NYI 1st is a wash (I think?). Decent return? *Connected via Beauvillier and the 5th... Edited to add the D 4th
  8. That's a good take by him. We've had zero cap to be offering that. It's nice that he's put it out there. He really did need to find wiggle room within the cap. He was left virtually zero which is a big handcuff for a new GM. How do you renovate your house with $0? Still dying to see what Pelts will add to the roster for cheap.
  9. Only saw the first 2, but didn't see any big problem from Oesterle. Holds the O line decently, good outlet passer when he has a few seconds. Had a couple of good stick ties in front of Markstrom. He's pretty fast, but that doesn't necessarily mean that I want him jumping into the rush.lol Even a 6/7 dman takes time to adjust to a different style/teammates. Glad he went to the A for that. The A guys have the advantage of already knowing the style of play, so look a lot more seamless fitting in. Unshockingly, didn't really notice Z missing. He was never worlds ahead of a 6/7.
  10. Wings took last night's loss out on the Hawks, Flames can make it a great night!!
  11. That's prolly actually a good thing.lol
  12. That's the best offer/market value for a player like Zadorov. It truly is. Hard to sleight Conroy besides the 3rd being far away.
  13. Chiarot's a solid 2nd pair. FLA thought they were getting a top pair, Detroit kinda did to, but him and Seider were like oil and water and dreadful together. Z is a 3rd pair without question, a fair bit before Chiarot would be considered one, and I don't particularly like Chiarot. If Chiarot would stop rushing, I'd maybe love him. He's pretty sound and physical defensively though. Let's face it, Z is flighty. His D play is awkward at best.
  14. Updates are always hard to come by. All I see is "out indefinitely". Likely a ton of physio for his arm if it was deep, but guessing legs and cardio he could stay on top of.
  15. Oh, and we get to expose him Saturday night!!
  16. He potentially became a thorn and a distraction. Wasn't happy with his icetime...self-admitted "I speak my mind"...maybe he just had to go.
  17. And Van moved out Beauvilier for Z.lol Agree with Sak, liked the person. Bottom pairing, whatever. Picks and no cap back is fine. Obviously no one wanted to give more than that. Didn't take another problem back is perfect. Everyone wants the world, this is reality, sorry about the crash landing.lol
