  1. Remove Lucic from the 4th line = Fine. Put Lucic on 2nd line = pinned in our dzone. I wish there was some connection that would help us reach a conclusion. /s
  2. Last 13 games: 5g/9a 14pts/ +7. Season Total (34games): 8g/12a 20pts/ +3 (.59ppg and rising).
  3. For sure. The problem is that's a high risk game so we'll only do it when we're down. We'll be a tight-checking team, but really need to figure out how to create O with that style of play. Lucic is too slow for top 6, I don't get that part. Guessing beyond guessing Phillips slots somewhere tonight? Did Rosie come back after taking the Stone shot?
  4. This has turned into a good tight checking game. Good neutral zone play by both teams.
  5. Yeah thought it was a trip. I kinda like LA's commentators, pretty balanced.
  6. Not like the Kings haven't had enough high danger chances. We look like garbage. Zero energy. Outshot 10-3, 2 shots in the last minute.
  7. When you're begging the other team to score, they will eventually. 1 shot through 18 minutes. Wow. Nothing like showing up.
  8. Streaming was getting painful...something something UBlock Origin something something. Let's go Flames!!
  9. Yup. I'm guilty of getting ornery too, but we are not far off of last year at all. We love us our impatience.lol We need the boost from Dube, but not the regression from Mangiapane.
  10. I guess when you're on a 6 game skid, you just need a Tampa game with Elliot in net. Detroit hasn't really been particularly bad in the losing streak, but that hump thing to get over is still prominent. Husso is making them look good, as they're near the league bottom for SOG/gm and mid-pack for SA. Really wish Lalonde would separate the Seider-Chiarot pairing. Chiarot keeps rushing and pinching, which should be Seider, who is left to cover for Chiarot. Seider was fine, even with Oesterle. But now, Chiarot changes everything. Raymond is a massive talent, but damn this year, he fights the puck in every facet. Can't even control a normal pass. The sophomore slump is real with him, he's been awful. Had to ditch him in the pool, I've seen enough. Just awful. Need to get him off of PP1, all he does is turn the puck over from even the simplest of plays. Onwards and, ummm, hopeful?
  11. You're really simplifying it. It isn't tanking for high picks, it really is getting lucky. Tampa can't do it without getting Kucherov and Point in later rounds. An excellent return on drouin to shore the D. Guys like Maroon, Coleman, Verhaege etc get them over the hump. Sure you get Stamkos and Hedman as high picks, but everything else helped a lot more. Just look north, why hasn't that worked. Everyone really seems to over simplify it. You need a great bottom 6 to win championships. You need a goalie going all-world regardless of name recognition. This has always been the way. In our '04 run, Yelle was the most important cog imho. A bunch of Dmen that didn't give a Blockchain that they're B & C listers. A ton has to go right. It's not because you tanked for high picks, that stuff is a microcosm compared to how everything else has to play out. Keep an eye on the Wings. It isn't the Seider-Raymond show, it's what they're adding that makes them becoming dangerous if they can pull it together. Sure, it's a rebuild, but it isn't on the backs of high picks, it's more what they can surround them with. Show me a past cup winner and why they won due to top 10 picks, I'll show you the rest of the roster being equally important. You don't have to tank, but you definitely need to be savvy and really lucky that it works out. Yzerman walked back to the D and basically said, sorry everyone, it's going to be awhile. Having made the playoffs umpteen years in a row and Holland being told that agenda remains by ownership, the team was completely in the Satoshi Nakamototer from terrible contracts. Really over-simplifying where we're at, because we aren't there right now. Give it a chance, for the love of god. Is everyone in a big race to be Anaheim? The priority from my perspective right now is fix the 4th line and bottom pairing. Not the top 6 fwds. The Cogliano's and Glendenning's of the league on cheap contracts are worth their weight in gold imo.
  12. Wright with Slovakia's only goal against Sting goalie Gaudreau with a headshaking play. Gaudreau afterwards said, "I don't think he scored against me in jr, so I thought I'd give him one".lol
  13. I hope your right about Mangiapane and last year wasn't an outlier. Because he's currently reverting back to the .4-.45ppg player.
  14. A pretty fair read. It's easy to point out when he gets pushed into bottom 6 the offence dries up. Always the player moved around due to the poor play of others. https://www.calgaryhockeynow.com/2022/12/21/dillon-dube-calgary-flames-hot-streak-nhl-top-line-lindholm-toffoli
  15. Thanks! edited. Holy ADD.lol I must have seen something shiny whilst typing. Hot take: given a consistent top 6 role, I think Dube can be a consistent 25g 60-70pt player when he hits his prime years.
  16. But we'd be trading one of our few players that plays with heart. Oh right, we do that. But I thought we just let them walk? I'd love him on Detroit, perfect age. Want Zadina?lol We could prolly throw in a dman not named Seider, Hronek, Edvinnson or Wallinder...still leaves some decent ones. I full on can't believe Maata being treated like a plug around the league for how good he's actually been. What a bargain!
