  1. You'd have to hire @cross16 and @sak22 to keep you in line. That would be fun to watch.
  2. 1. The NHL changed rules due to everyone hoarding their mgmt staff. 2. Leave us alone, too many past paper cuts.lol
  3. You should maybe tell us who you're replacing BT with so we can put things into context of who you want vs who we've got.
  4. Lots of storylines for today's games. Group B is tied up in a knot of scenarios between 4 teams. The NHL should probably adopt the 3-2-1 point scheme. As much as I'd rather 2-0-1. If they're dead set against ties, separate regulation vs OT/SO wins...but it's the NHL, they break things just to create something to fix.
  5. He'll be 32-33 before CBJ is relevant. They've got some great prospects, but need a lot of adds on top of that. I think the 2 biggest things going against him are: 1. Columbus 2. Ohio Hope he likes the Buckeyes, the far right "christians" and conspiracy theories. What a bizarre choice when you have choices.
  6. I caught this article today too. I was taken aback to say the least. He ascribes it to Dubas being on his way out should the Leafs do the typical this year, and BT and Sutter being at odds. Add in, if you choose to believe those things, BT is a top GM and this is the center of the universe. In other words, I don't really buy any of this. Salim is inventing talking points that I doubt exist. It's pretty overboard and taking liberties. Though it does give me the idea to sell this to my Leafs buddies next time they're over, after some quality brownies and a few snifters of Elijah Craig.lol I can totally sell this thing.... I have to say, both my teams have top GMs. I'll always have that!!
  7. I think there will still be some post-covid draft-correction going on. Not saying it's Lampinen in particular, but now also with the Russian fiasco going on it's been hard to get proper viewings and assessments. 20/21 were tough draft years unlike any we've seen. So it's reasonable to assume some correction is inevitable imo. Russia has a pile of MHL goalies also. Just can't get proper assessments.
  8. I think they deserve it. Everyone thinks the refs are out to get their team. I don't believe it. They try to be balanced, but they make mistakes, sometimes gross ones. Just like goalies wanting a goal back, I'm sure refs would like some calls/non-calls back. They're not perfect so you have to win in spite of what reffing does. If you lose because of a call/non-call, you put yourself in that position. It sucks, but that's the way she goes.
  9. I've been crash, carbuncle and now this. When I tried to come back, "sorry, those names are taken". lol By me of course. But I remain gruntled rather than cry over a c word.
  10. It's too bad Sergeev is the backup, but he's a freshman on the 10th ranked NCAA team. So not like he's sheltered by a Michigan or a Minnesota team (Minny-best hockey state in the US). From the USHL last year to UConn this year, what an incredible pick by the Flames. 7th rders are typically throwaways. We have 2 significant G prospects from there. Without question our best 2. I guess this is why we stopped taking goalies in early rounds.lol Not yet proven successful, but the trend is great.
  11. I'm really happy that the fans didn't trade Hanifin.lol How effed would we be right now?
  12. Just to add, how excited we were that Weegar is a massive upgrade on wassisname. Only to find out he's replacing wassisname AND the member of the disappeared. He can only be 1 place at a time.
  13. It was all just a mirage. There is no such person. Stone is fine as a fill in 7th. We need a steady 6th. Why doesn't Meloche get a chance before it's via trade, because a #6 is nothing else we have atm. Z deserves better.
  14. Sergeev, holy moly freshman guy from the NAHL's legendary Shreveport Mudbugs. How fun would it be if, in 4 years, we had 2 - 7th rd pick goalies? NHL Markstrom: 11-9-4; 2.81gaa; .894sv% Vladar: 6-4-3; 2.83gaa; .905sv% AHL Wolf: 17-4-3; 2.24gaa; .927sv% 3SO ECHL Daniil Chechelev 13-8-0; 3.18gaa; .905sv% NCAA Sergeev: 7-2-1; 2.41gaa; .923sv%
  15. I think this is the crux of the matter. We can line up however we like, if we can't cut the dumb penalties out it may not matter. Half of the top 6 getting exhausted killing penalties.
  16. Prolly doesn't help much being the 7th most penalized team in the league. I think us and Minny(2nd) are the only 2 teams able to be somewhat successful whilst taking so many penalties if I remember correctly. I'm not sure if they take as many dumb ones as us. That has to get cleaned up. "Refs are unfair to us", said every fan of every team in the league. Nope. Good teams win in spite of reffing. It's always been that way. Kinda like, "we scored 1 goal but got railroaded by reffing". - Us probably.
  17. When you’re losing 4-0, then score the OT winner:
  18. Looking forward to Czech Republic vs Sweden today. Should be quite a game and find out if we have a shot at 1st in our group.
  19. That's his game big time. He's at his best playing angry. Hopefully he'll start putting the team on his shoulders because it motivates everyone. Just has to get completely comfortable with the systems, then insert his play into it. I'll be shocked if he doesn't finish the season ppg+. He's just too good of a player. That was a huge win. A coupla bounces in the LA and Oilers game and we'd be right there with LA chasing down Vegas. We'll get there. Just score some goals for Markstrom too.
