#FlamesNHL_Team_2022_Flames.png lines full-on blender right now. New sets rolling out each shift, including

Coleman-Backlund-Toffoli and

Mangiapane-Dube-Pelletier.

Last sets have Backlund back with Mangiapane and Coleman, but before that we saw Huberdeau with Lindholm and Toffoli.

I would have to say that the worst was Lucic out there on the top line.

Ended up over 1:30 and a icing.

Forgettable period, by a team on the ropes, against a bottom feeder. Marky continues to play well.

It's games like this that we have lost all season.

Other team stays in it while we struggle to get shots and chances.

They score one and shut us down.

We may tie it up, but they get a 2nd one.

Yes, Markstrom plays well in games like this.

But, TBH, I don't think he was really tested yet.

When your lines are crap to begin with I don’t think we should be that surprised if they go into the blender.

I'm okay with the defense pairs....

That's all I can say positive.

Ok, I will add that Backlund line is pretty consistent.

They may not score, but they don't allow much.

THe lines confound me.

Ritchie in the top 6 on a mid level team.

Lucic getting critical minutes or time with top players.

Dube, one of the hardest working players, stuck with the stonehands crew.

Doesn't matter who you play with Kadri and Hubey, they are cold.

Keeping Huberdeau on RW makes it worse.

Yup. The flames, for many many seasons, go into a game waiting to see how their opponent is going to play instead of dictating play. It’s a defensive and “counter” mindset. Pretty good formula for playoffs, but if you run into a team that takes it to you shift after shift - you’ll end up with exactly what happened in that COL vs CGY series. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach, yet despite all the talk of video review and prepping for each opponent before each game, these flames seem to play every game the same way… I’m not buying the koolaid. Living on a hope and a prayer…

Mange is pissing me off this year. He used to be mr. consistent with his effort. Ever since he’s been reunited with backlund I feel like he’s let off the gas. And it shows. If he’s pouting, he needs to stop. He’s getting paid now. And I’m a big fan of what he can do. Get on your horse 88.

Hahahaha

i was going to post something to the effect of “now watch this next shift, it’ll probably end in a goal” and I stopped myself. These flames are so predictable and so easy to let their effort drop after they score.
